    1) Possibly, but far less likely than if they didn't. I see no really good reasons to ignore the games plot, as it were. EXCEPT;

    2) Bad writing, like the Origins of Power and the Puddle of Annoyance, get summararily ignored for being dross. Source of the CoH-verse powers through time and space? Ok, it's a Mcguffin that is easy enough to not have to mention, no worries.
It is the only thing that ALLOWS me to have more power, and I have to bow and scrape to get that? I think bloody NOT!

    So, yeah, thems me views

You both seem to have missed 'Focus Chi'. Which is Build Up. It's just what Martial Arts calls it.

Unless you think Martial Arts doesn't have Build Up as a Scrapper Primary
  4. Can we have a GOOD reason?

    No.
Because there IS no good reason.
  5. I need to watch the Ustream proper when I get back home to decent internet.

Because ARGHOMGOMG THE WINGS, THE WINGS AND THE ARMOUR!! GIMME NOW!!!!
  6. THAT is what should be the official ones, frankly. Not the 'meh' they've decided is fitting for Freedom. Nicely done.
  7. And drop a random component on completion once a day, IMO

I like it. I did last time it came up too.

It's a public forum. frankly; deal with it. You will and always will get people disagreeing. And I will still disagree (and /unsign, which is effectively a /sign AGAINST an idea, FYI)

Pretty much anything I say will get some sort of shouting down so, meh. 'Feudal Japan' just seems such a random, unlinked choice of place. 'Cool factor' is irrelevant if it has naff all ties to existing canon.

That, and if we HAVE to have a damn new shiny, instead of revamps, I'd rather see something more out of the box and un-obvious. Thinks like 'medieval anything' have been done to death a million and one times.
  9. Oh just get a room, the both of ya's! >_<
  10. A number of my characters (SABRE Team) are very much a part of the ongoing Rikti plot.

I think, overall, pretty much every one of my characters cares very much about what happens in the world. The game canon (barring stuff I choose to flat out ignore as dross bad writing [Origin of Power, Puddle of Annoyance]) is pretty much the game world. How can my characters exist there and NOT care about it? It just...doesn't make sense to me.

I get the feeling Americans may find that mind set easier. After all, many of them believe their country is the entire world...

If there is sarcasm there, and the mobs do run up to you while your mezzed, the immobilize effect isn't useful as a defensive measure while under a mez, though this might be a fair trade for the better damage output.

If there is no sarcasm then I guess it isn't really a problem as the mobs are staying at range which is generally where you want them to be while you're mezzed.

As for Hide looking over the set again it can kinda make sense (Blinding Powder and Dragon's Tail positioning) it still seems off for this set though.
For future reference, I'm a sarcastic [Censored]

Mobs very often run into melee while you are mezzed, meaning a higher damage tier 1 secondary, even if it does have immobilise, would likely be as useful as the current tier 1s by dint of damage being the ultimate debuff; they can't hurt you if they're dead

    The Dead Pool

None. Killing off actual Sigs for no good reason is a sign of poor writing and desperately grabbing for 'Look at this! Isn't this shocking?!' points. I would hope our writers, who have recently put out some fantastic stuff, wouldn't sully themselves and stoop that low.

Mind you, given the whole background to the Puddle of Annoyance...

Also I don't see the point of having Hide in the set. Blasters wouldn't be getting Stealth Strikes and the set itself doesn't have anything that would get an advantage from stealth. In Devices it makes sense as that lets you set up Trip Mine, Caltrops and Time Bomb without alerting mobs.
Because mobs don't have a horrible habit of running up and punching you when you're mezzed.

Also, the set has plenty of aggro-negation alongside the Hide, making it a more hit and run secondary from my observation.
  15. Blaster ranged immobs do no or low damage. I'd happily swap getting into melee for a better punch to my...uh...kick.

/Signed. I like the look of that.

Why can I not do Blaster level damage, with Tank level shields and Controller level mez?! WHY IS THIS SO UNFAIR, GAWDEH!!

    Give us Shiva!

I'd rather see a standalone GM that fitted in somewhere than a 'chance' for one (see Jack during Halloween and how well he goes down) being shoe-horned in elsewhere.

That and GMs not having such piddly rewards.

That's not evidence. I see no quoted source or links. Something you were calling for only a page or so ago.

This argument hath no ground to stand on, methinks.
  22. Fine by me. YMMV. It still won't dissuade me from my opinion that, were it an actual 'balance point' rather than an oversight that has, like many things, been on the uber-massive To Do list for years, then it's a pretty stupid one. Again, in my opinion.

If you stop to think about it, Tech, I'm sure you'll agree at least somewhat that the suffocating, restricting Arachnos railroad had to go, and taking Recluse off the splash screen is one step towards doing that. It does have the unfortunate implication that "the devs hate villains," but I still feel that we can live villains and still dislike Arachnos at the same time.
So, we swap one railroad for another? At least you could kick Recluse's faceplate in by yourself, and have his past self congratulate you on it, while saying "Right, not messing with you now."

I honestly prefer Recluse and Arachnos to Tyrant and Praetoria. Or maybe that's me getting sick of the Puddle of Annoyance and it's god-moding and railroading, along with the utterly Hax Praetorian mobs...

Edit: That, and Praetoria is paid for content only. Freedom should focus on the base game, the Heroes and the Villains, and THAT includes Recluse and Arachnos.
