Acrobatics will be plenty in normal PvE play. It is a 9 or 10 KB protection while the IOs are generally 4s and I rarely get knocked around with just 1 IO in a build so with Acro being more than 2 IOs in effect you will be fine.

They're not a joke for Masterminds players. Neither are pirates.

Quote:Yep. It's going to be interesting and potentially frustrating for soloists.I guess you have a good point there, and I don't guess a red-side arc could allow you to actually get the PCM. There might be some ability to flesh out dealings/backstory involving Sands, Nocturne, the Sky Raiders, Doc Delilah though.
I guess this gets to maybe a bigger issue in my mind - those grey areas. Ok, I have a villain that has started acting heroic enough to become a Rogue. I have access to blue-side zones. To what end? I can't use WW, I can't start heroside missions. Does that mean the only reason I'm there is to team with heroes? What does that leave if I don't particularly want to (I primarily solo, and if I wanted to solo blue side I could easily do so with a blue-side toon. Yes, I suppose this generally does give red-siders more opportunities to find teams)?
Maybe they can't completely open things up, but I guess I'd like to see some other options. There could be some opportunity for action for roguish types to find action while in Paragon; there could be some opportunities for vigilantes to take matters into their own hands within the Rogue Isles. Guess I just have to wait and see what GR brings. -
Quote:Ah. I figured Carnies and Arachnos and such would mow him down with ranged non S/L attacks but I shall re-read your guide to get a better understanding of it. I am just used to my warshade with his cranked up resistances to everything and really high hitpoints and regeneration being hard to kill so I never much thought of defense for him.True enough, but S/L does cover a lot more than you'd imagine. For instance, Ice blast has lethal components to most of its attacks. Energy and Electric melee have smashing components to most of their attacks. It doesn't mean they all have S/L tags, of course.
And I do try to cover that in my guide. Notice I wasn't telling him "Yes it will" or "no it won't."
I was only offering my analysis and some subjective opinion that is in the guide to help him figure it out for himself. -
But that 18% is only against S/L and the 16% is melee only so it isn't like he has a universal 18/16 defense. It seems to me at the higher levels that won't be the actual defense benefit.

I may be mistaken but I don't imagine it is going to help you enough to work your build towards it.
It might be helpful to know your playstyle but I would think you would be far better off in pumping up your hitpoints and damage resistances than your defense.
For example if you could keep Essence Boost maxed that would be very helpful to your survival.
And just to make sure, you do know that your Miracle +Recovery and Numina's Reg/Rec will only operate for the 2 minutes after you click Essence Boost? -
Quote:Since the full suppression story hasn't been told I am going to elaborate.Re: Suppression, yes, we picked that.
Re: ED--I miss Pilcrow.
Only Fly had a combat penalty before suppression. I think we had -50% to our to-hit so we who loved flying had cooked up lots of ways to switch between fly and hover using keybinds.
Then PvP was added and people discovered they didn't like getting jousted by superspeeders. The NPCs had been quiet about the unfairness of it for the first 4 issues but players in the arenas were not (understandably so).
So the devs handed superspeeders and superjumpers the same to-hit or accuracy penalty (I can never remember which is which). They did not like that penalty. So suppression was allocated to them. And to all the fliers who were quite used to the to-hit/acc penalty even though many of us didn't want suppression and hate it to this day.
Then another change not caused by PvP but rather by unfair ability to get badges came to Phase Shift (we used to be able to go AFK phased as long as we managed our endurance consumption). But that is a topic for another day.
<--- Hates suppression still to this day. -
Mastermind redside but you couldn't pay me to try something like this.

Happens way too often to me and it better not be WAI because it stinks.

Quote:Ah, I just searched their website and got the news article link. The magazine article itself was in the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly section, Swellguy. They mentioned Cryptic had trademarked CoH2 while discussing the lack of console port for STO and CO.
I sent them an e-mail mentioning this error.
Well at least they got that one right. -
Funny, Game Informer's site says it is NCSoft no mention of Cryptic. Perhaps you misread something.

I think had the OP not used the word "fear" there would have been less debate. Real scrappers don't fear anything. That's their style, that's their curse.

No kidding. I might want some of them accompanying me on my world domination tour.

Quote:Are any of your slots selling an item with multiples?Skimming this thread, I haven't seen any mention of a Market interface issue that's bugging me:
Regardless of the number of market slots a toon has, I seem unable to use the last one. Right now I've got a toon that has 17 of 18 slots full, but if I try to drag one more thing from inventory to the salvage window, I'm told " Your Auction Inventory is full. This item could not be added."
Is it just me, or is this happening to everyone else?
And yes, this whole new and improved Market "improvement" thing needs more improvement. -
Quote:So let's see if I can re-phrase this.I agree, at same time i can afford most of what I need, I was thinking of the new player base. When I entered Ultima Online and Ever Quest it was late in the game and most items were way outta my price range. I honestly would love to see this game thrive. That is where my greed comes in I want a large player base.
A new player will not stay if they cannot immediately buy the best items that they will not fully understand for powers they will not fully understand.
Or we can suggest that they start off by selling their invention drops and stick with the store purchaseable SOs until they get a grasp of how the game is played and get an idea of what kind of inventions' items they want?
Which items exactly will drive these new players out right away that inflation is harming because they will only buy and not sell? Purples? PvP recipes? LotGs? Meanwhile a glut of garbage sits on the markets unbought which I regularly pickup for less than what the vendors will pay for them.
I am curious if you could walk me through the narrative of how you imagine this inflation driving away potential new players since there are many items on the market not insanely overpriced besides the best stuff. -
Boy did I make a boo boo playing with my settings last night. I managed to drop to 1 or less frames per second. I think it took me about 5 minutes to get it set back all because one stupid slider I accidentally pulled too far over.
I think they need to make no changes work until you click apply if you are in the ultra mode settings.
I concur with Bill's views on hardware and look forward to the day when I can return to buying the top stuff.
I have to say when I compare my 4 different machines even medium is a lot better looking than the lowest one. But the highest? It makes playing on the others very sad. -
Quote:It's not just you and it can happen at any time on any type of interaction with the market. No, this was a glitch of some sort. Just curious if it was on my end.
I would set the slider to 4 and then hit ok.
The Heavy Water would appear in the tab for a split second, while still being shown in my salvage box.
Then it would vanish from the market UI...
Once I was able to store an item I was unable to post it for any amount half the time.
I'd set 1000 and click post.
Nothing.
click click click.
Nothing.
Click click click
Ah, forget it.... -
We haven't seen it yet but you want consequences/alterations.
I think I lack the ability to express the amount of No I have at this time for any suggestion of this type.
Have you played every AT and every possible powerset combination? If not then why add more to the game when you haven't availed yourself to what is available already? -
Quote:Just FYI, the impatient high payer is just as greedy as the flipper, perhaps moreso. The only difference is the one wants influence/infamy and the other wants product. Also people who don't want high prices are also greedy because they want products for less.Oh I fully believe this isn't the devs fault. And the same farmers spamming our in-game e-mail are contributing to it and clogging my e-mail box. Greedy players play a part as well. I personally sell all my stuff for a lil lower than market average hoping to drive the trend downwards. I find it troublesome that the are those that play the market, find items sold for cheap and sell em back at a higher price knowing some impatient fellow or lass will pay it.
Your one dimensional view of greed is amusing but completely inaccurate. At least I know I am being greedy when I want my IO now and am willing to pay otherwise useless influence/infamy for it. In fact I enjoy overpaying for IOs just because I know high prices send so many people into a frenzy.
And one other point of clarification, when I overpay the lowest lister is getting my influence/infamy not necessarily your "greedy flipper".
