Quote:1. As opposed to everything else they will be disadvantaged by? Experience, IOs, etc.1) I'm aware of this, but for someone that either just comes to the game or that makes a new account you can't deny how discouraging it is that many people will be better than you just because of their subscription time.
2) I gotta be honest, I don't think that this game will be aroudn for another 60 months.. and if it is I doubt I or any other new player will be playing it. No offense.
2. Since I don't think the 60 month vet reward is game breaking your point #2 is irrelevant as is the overall suggestion. No offense. -

I have enjoyed all the boosters and loved the Magic pack the most (even now). Martial Arts' Ninja Run is a blast.
I don't see the issues people are having but I can certainly understand how one person's major issue can be unnoticed by others but if someone cannot risk $10 on a booster that they may like or hate, I really don't think they ought to buy it without doing research and due diligence.
I didn't really know what I was going to get in the Martial Arts pack when I bought it for all 3 of my accounts but I was sure I wouldn't regret it. If I had doubts I would have checked and waited.
So I thank the devs for it and look forward to the next one. -
Had something funny happen this weekend. I stumbled across a character in the middle of the cape "arc". I guess I didn't feel like running him out to the end of IP so he did that and got the old defend the time capsule mission. Upon completion the City Rep offered him the new cape mission.

Quote:My inv tanker doesn't have the problems you describe with the Cimeroans including the alpha strike. He also doesn't have the mentioned pool powers or special (purple/PvP) IOs that people say you have to have.Way to only read part of my post, Dumpleberry. Even when my account was off, that didn't stop me from RPing with people over other programs. I never ONCE said I expected to do what I could pre-I4. Not once. That's an assumption YOU made.
I would have liked to at least be able to take a mob's ALPHA strike without being completely in the red. Maybe then I'd feel like, I dunno, a TANK?
But screw it. The mechanics make no damned sense to me anymore, and I just don't give enough of a damn to bother. I'll just go back to my PS3 until TOR is released. Been fun. -

Quote:There is a setting for level -1 to +4 (or +5 I cannot recall which it caps out at) and one for how many heroes/villains you are equal to x1-x8.Rather than muddying up the forums anymore with another thread, I do have another question.
Regarding the difficulty lvl change that came with I16 how does it work? For example if I want to solo my missions as if I'm in a duo does it increase the lvl of the mobs the number of them or both? Is it safe to assume then also that it increases the xp as well?
If you defeat more enemies you will get more exp by virtue of defeating more foes and if they are higher level you get more exp than if they are lower in level.
Also bosses give more than lieutenants give more than minions so there is also the setting about whether you want to fight bosses solo or not. -
If you use Ouroboros to get exemplared down and hunt in a zone they won't be gray. If you choose to use a 44/45 (I can never remember which it is) you will even still have access to all your powers.

Quote:I recall one thing a bit worse. GM Dave at Bannable Offenses commented on the book "Love You Forever"He SEES you when you are sleeping.
He KNOWS when you're awake
If THAT doesn't creep you out, nothing will.
http://bannable-offenses.blogspot.co...u-forever.html
Heck even Amazon.com mentions
Product Description
The mother sings to her sleeping baby: "I'll love you forever / I'll love you for always / As long as I'm living / My baby you'll be." When her son grows up and leaves home she takes to driving across town with a ladder on the car roof, climbing through her grown son's window, and rocking the sleeping man in the same way.
That's creepier to me. -
I remember being surprised when someone broadcast they were looking for it and they and their friend came on mine and he paid me for it. I told him it wasn't necessary but he said he didn't know what else to do with his influence (also a pre-I9 thing).

I don't have all the answers but I'll give you what I got.
First one of the best information sites we have is paragonwiki which you will want to make use of in addition to the forums.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page
It has links to the other awesome sites under Titan network and Utilities so it makes a nice one stop beginning location for things.
I am sure some of our bind/macro kings have developed binds to help speed the buffing of teammates but I don't think you can work it with mouseovers.
A short comment on enhancements. All enhancements serve the same purpose to boost your performance (usually of just the power they are slotted into).
There are training origins which you can slot if they drop but are never worth buying. Dual origins require you have at least one of the two origins and single origins have to be the same origin as your character. All 3 of these types degrade and expire as you level but you can combine them to keep them going. Check out enhancements on paragonwiki for more on that.
Then we have our invention enhancements. Then never degrade or expire and with set bonuses and special ones you can boost your performance beyond just the power they are in.
As far as rushing to 50. I don't see any advantage in doing that until you get to the point where you know the base game and are bored with it. Yes, a 50 hero unlocks Kheldians and a 50 villain unlocks Soldiers of Arachnos but that is it. The only reason to have a farming character is if you want to farm for drops at level 50 but there are plenty of methods to get invention drops outside of that (excluding the PvP and level 50 purple recipes) like merits and AE tickets.
I'd say take your time and get to know the game. You can always rush it later. -
Quote:And now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb!Hatred?
Utter nonsese!
This is simply Paragon Studios showing us what we knew all along; that villains are superior.
They know that, unlike the delicate heroes who need to have their hands held for practically everything, villains have the strength and determination to reach a threat level suitable for Cap au Diable in no time.
Why else would Villians have to fight for their patron powers while heroes have them handed to them on a plate?
None can deny our superiority, not even the developers. -

I'd go with dark/dark stalker. In fact I did and is level 24 at the moment.
I am unsure which Patron pool to take though. -
I loved the new mission with the time capsule though the one following seemed like a downer after it. Definitely a nice rework there though.
I agree with those who say Justin Green needs to be relocated as well as some of the other IP contacts like they did with the Kings Row contacts. -
I am in the neighborhood of 2k for my 3 accounts. One was from the beginning, the second was 2 years later and the 3rd was a year after that.
I cannot wait to see what my GR purchasing options will be. * hint hint to the marketing department * -
There're no rules that I am aware of against charging ingame currency/items for ingame services/items.
1 million per run sounds pretty cheap compared to old amounts. -
This is why I often leave out lowball (relatively for purples) bids. You never know when someone will come along and dump a bunch.

I have been playing it with Windows 7 for several weeks now since I upgraded without problems.

Or make it non-anonymous for neg repping so I can return the favor to those cowardly used toilet wipes.
I am sick of the stupid comments people make in them. If the star system had to go, this has to go with extreme violence. -
Quote:What? And miss out on gems we get from idiots who cannot take a joke or who can anonymously harrass us as long as they don't step over some undefined line in what they write? The Devs have two simple solutions to that: either make it so that rep is no longer anonymous or disable it entirely.
I mean sure they had to get rid of the old one time star system which had almost no ability to harrass people but that doesn't mean anonymous stupid red reps should be stopped. -
-
Same. Or even lower. I don't feel like clogging up my market slots any longer than until the next time I login or I fill up and need to return to the market.

Quote:You should be able to use your Ouros portal in those TFs because you can use it when you are on an Ouro arc lowering you below 25. I think it goes off your actual level. It's a lot harder to find inspirations on a Task Force, though. In fact outside of the base stores you mentioned (and not everybody is on a Supergroup), I don't think there's anywhere you can get inspirations while on a Positron or Synapse TF, since you don't have access to Ouroboros (someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I feel like I am but I'm not sure why).
There are also the bartenders in Pocket D.
Plus there is the market and the ticket vendor in AE (if you have the tickets on hand).
So inspiration vendors in the hospital should be modeled after the bartenders so a TF won't prevent them from selling to you.
