    Nobody is talking about unslotted toons. But the game isn't balanced around purpled out toons either. A blaster can, indeed, go into a zone with SO's and do well. A fort could do it in I13. But now, a blaster can still do it, but a fort needs to be purpled out to have a chance. Not really fair.

    They were clearly overpowered in I13, and every good player admitted it. But making them useless wasn't the solution.
  2. All debuffs became a lot stronger in I14, compared to I13, because of how DR values are calculated. Basically DR hits debuffs less than before, so they do MOAR.

    That's probably part of the reason why sonic became the undisputed #1 set, whereas in I13 it was tied with psy for #1.

    Dude it's not even close. I have the oldest fire/em blaster in this game...it's been my main since day 1. And it's a complete and utter joke now compared to sonic/em. Psy was comparable in I13, but not anymore. Sonic is by far the best.

    It sounds like you're just biased, since you play a sonic/em, so I'm sure you'd like to think you doing well on it has to do with your skills, and not the fact that it's just the most FotM build in the game right now. A couple weeks ago you got all offended in RV when I said sonic/em is by far the easiest blaster to play. Well, it is. As much as I'd love fire to be comparable, it simply isn't.

    Fire/SS tanks are pretty much 100% unkillable if played right. Of course they don't do quite as much damage as a blaster. They did in I13 lol.

    And spines or elec stalkers. Unkillable and capable of good damage.

    That's what comes to mind for me.

    To give you an idea of a standard test team, it's 1 force field, 2 emps, 2 stalkers. Epic PvP, lol.
  6. Actually all good players I know pretty much stripped their forts down to outfit their other toons, and don't play the forts at all. On any given day, you'll be lucky to find a single fort in a PvP zone, and when they do show up, they leave shortly afterwards....after they get farmed by the 10 blasters for 5 mins straight. For the most part, it's back to just stalkers now.

    So congrats devs....you made it so even less AT's are viable in PvP.

    If by "going" you mean like 3 total teams that have a match once half a year because test is constantly down for closed betas, then yes....going strongly.

  11. I slot 2 SO's worth of enhancement in SJ and SS. For fly, I go with 3.

    You really want to be at the speed cap with all your travels. Because others will be, and that's the difference between cathing up to someone or not....or getting away from them or not.

    I've barely touched mine since I14 came out. Defense being a total joke, combined with the nerfed damage made them pretty pointless in my eyes.

    Sure, you can kill noob squishies. So could a dark/dark corr.

    What sucks is I had JUST spent a ton of money on my fort literally like 2 weeks before it was completely destroyed.
  13. The devs have zero concept of balance because they have never PvP'd in this game at all.

    So to answer your question, it's the same reason why the entire game is unbalanced to the point of absurdity and only a few select builds can compete. Because to balance something, you have to have at least a slight understanding of what you're doing.

    Sounds like you're new. The devs are 100% convinced that what they're doing is good for the game. That's the problem. You can't prove to an idiot that he's an idiot.

    So no, it will never go back to what it used to be, not even if the entire playerbase stops PvP'ing.

    Ok, I respecced my EM/regen into shadow meld.....can't believe how fast it recharges compared to MoG....considering they're basically the same thing.

    What would you guys suggest for a /nin stalker? Right now I have the shark still. Shadow meld seems kind of redundant for nin.

    I wouldn't say it's useless, but Shadow Meld is a pretty awesome power for a Stalker and that gives you Dark Blast, which does half the damage of Spirit Shark for 1/3 the animation time.

    Why is shadow meld so good? Isn't it just defense? Defense barely seems to even have any effect anymore, from what I've seen.

    I13 made doms into blasters. They are not a control AT now, they are basically just a blaster with some controls. The best sets are still the same I think...
    mind or fire / fire, psi, or elec....actually I think thorns is good too now
  18. You definitely want to use dominate first, since it shuts off people's KB protection (if they have it)...which makes levitate work 100% of the time on everybody.

    I still wouldn't suggest using melee on a dom. Some melee attacks can be ok, but flurry's animation is too long. A scrapper can handle being stuck in 1 spot for 4 secs....a dom probably can't. I'd stick to range.
  19. Dominate, levitate, fireblast, and mes are probably all you need. In that order. With enough recharge, you can probably just stick with 3 of those, the first 2 being mandatory.
