Yeah, lots of /nin stalkers enjoyed using blinding powder on blasters that camped on their caltrops and mines. Getting 1 shotted by your own mines must be pretty annoying
-
To be honest BB, I don't see any reason to make a DM stalker right now. Unless your goal really is to play a gimp toon just for the hell of it. But there are much more gimp ones to play, if that's the reasoning.
The extra AS damage will likely be pretty negligible. And it's nice not always having to rely just on AS or shark. Sometimes you need 1-2 other attacks to make kills easier, and EM or elec or even spines all have better options than DM. -
Way to be completely clueless about this game's history and the "work" the devs have done on PvP. Good job.
-
Fly+TP is also viable, although takes more skill to use well.
In general, fly on a stalker is a bad idea. It's just too slow. You might kill those flying blasters, but chances are, they're the worst players in the zone at the moment, so killing them is not an accomplishment. And you will NOT be killing any good player with a flying stalker...fly is simply too slow to keep up with anybody half decent. -
EA is like SR. If a player chooses to only play while the tier 9 is up, yeah, it's not a bad set. Because with the tier 9, it's ok. The problem is that without the tier 9, it's essentially like playing with no secondary at all.
And even with the tier 9, it all comes down to luck. Just yeserday I was on my joke DM/SR scrapper in RV, and I got ganked about 8v1 by a coordinated team. I had elude up, but I got hit with literally every single attack every single one of them threw at me....without any -def debuffs. I popped a few greens in the process, but simply nothing at all missed me, so it was just a waste.
And the funniest part is that all the guys realized what happened. I jokingly asked what elude did, and a couple of the guys responded. One said +recovery and another said +movement speed. Made me lol for real, because essentially it's true. Thank you I14. -
I think he must have found out that the whole Noah's Arc thing didn't really happen. That's a tough thing to handle.
-
And then let's say you hack the game and get to 50000% defense in PvE.
In PvP, you'll still be at 20% lol. -

How would a tauntbot slot taunt currently?
On my melee, since I just **** around in zones, I just have it slotted with 3 range SO's, and I rely on it just for -range. But when being a tauntbot for a team, what's the best current way to do it? -
Wait. People still play defenders in PvP? Whoa.
Seriously, in addition to your point, doms also get the normal TK effect. And mind doms are at least 90% of the doms right now, so a lot of players can take advantage of it. -

Quote:It was only added in the last issue I think. As far as why they didn't play it up, that's simple. They don't care about PvP. It's surprising they even added the feature, considering it must have taken about 10 minutes of work. Usually that's more time than they're willing to spend on PvP.I'm not sure why this feature wasn't played up by the Devs in whatever Issue it was added.
But yeah, it's nice. And it only took 5 years to implement. -
Really? I prefer to dip mine in ranch.
Mind posting your broccoli build? -
For those that don't seem to know, TK is basically an unresisted hold that lasts, I think 10 seconds. It keeps the person held as long as he takes no damage. So you can use those 10 seconds to put any debuffs you want on the person...as long as they take no damage, the hold won't drop. It's pretty damn powerful.
That is, unless they completely changed it in the last 2-3 months. I haven't used it in about that long. -
Wow, it's played with no TS? What other special rules apply?
I don't think I've tried playing with no TS a single time since I13 came out. I'm sure it feels a lot different.
Oh and thanks BB....I'll hold you to your promise if I ever do join this -
I have a quick question...
Can someone with an SO'd build, with zero accolades or bonuses, and no kb protection, compete in these kickballs? And by compete, I mean actually get picked and not be a hinderance to their team?
Need honest replies. -
Quote:If you're on freedom, chances are, RV will be even busier that you remember. 2 reasons for this.how has PvP faired in the open PvP zones since my last days among the CoX community?
1. PvP 2.0 completely destroyed test arena PvP. It literally does not exist anymore. Those that stayed in the game naturally spend more time in zones now.
2. PvP in general became far less popular, with lots of people quitting altogether. This led to PvP on basically every server except Freedom to die completely. People that still wanted to PvP pretty much all transferred to Freedom.
So basically, PvP is a joke compared to how it used to be, there are far less people doing it than before, but specifically zone PvP on Freedom is as active as ever, maybe even more so. -
It used to be playable. Now it's a joke, because kin serves zero purpose in PvP, thanks to the I13 nerfs.
-
If by threat you mean team up with others and trow web+taunt at targets while they kill them, then yes. If you mean run around like defense sets in I13, soloing an entire zone, then no. You'll be owned by any coordinated team in seconds if you try to roll solo. Unless you do what the best of us do. Phase and run away.

I'll go against the grain and say sonic. Sure, you can rely on the broken proc, but I feel sonic's -res really fits well with /devices. You get no BU, so the -res really helps to put out a lot of damage fast. Get 2-3 attacks on someone, and your shout will put out damage as if you just used BU.
/dev playstyle is more "over time" than /EM. It's not so much about spikes, more about wearing your target down, while they're semi-helpless from being webbed. And here sonic shines. Not only are you doing more damage with each attack due to defiance, you're doing A LOT more, due to the -res on top of it.
Can't go wrong with psy obviously though. -
Quote:Is mids wrong then? It shows power push base as 16.6, which enhances to over 45, just like force bolt./energy assault's power push is covered by 32+acro
all im saying is if anyone loses to a defender theyve got bigger problems in their build than kb protection.
And sonic defenders are still capable of respectable damage. Others may suck, but the -res does add up. There's one FF/sonic I know that does pretty well, although I'm not sure if I've ever seen him outside sirens. -
Not really. It was a pretty simple one. How does one of the most vocal posters over the last few months play the game for OVER FIVE YEARS without posting a single time, and how does this same person play the game for years without getting even a slight understanding of the game basics?
Are you like one of those "born again" Christians, except instead of a new-found belief in God, you got a new-found desire to spread completely wrong information on a video game forum?
Sorry, but I don't buy it. People don't play for 5 years without saying a word, and then wake up one day and say "you know what....starting today, I will post 30 messages on the forum daily and sound as ignorant as possible". Either they do it from the beginning, or they don't do it at all.
Or...a really vocal newbie buys the account of a quiet oldschool player, and then everything makes sense.
As far as leaving the forums because everybody "else" is ignorant, you realize you sound like the completely insane guy in an asylum, screaming that everybody around him is insane? Over the last few months, it's been literally the ENTIRE knowledgeable PvP community arguing vs you alone. Is it really that crazy to assume that perhaps YOU are the one that's wrong, not EVERY SINGLE OTHER person? Hmmm....I don't know..... -
Good job ignoring the specific question. Looks like Rent was right. But just for future reference, just because you buy someone's account, doesn't mean YOU were here from the first month.
