I'd be happy to give the Scoop it's very own website.

You have to write a bind .txt file outside of the game to do it, because the game won't accept the unicode directly and there is no "alt-###" variant for it.

Quote:I did not know that! I'll have to check into that next time I get that one.I used to feel that way - then someone pointed out to me that at least two of his arcs (as well as Kelly Uqua's) are failable. If you don't want to take Miss Francine back to be tortured/killed, you can just let the timer run out on that last mission.
You get hosed on rewards, but the souvenir for failing is WAY worth it. -
Mod8 is indeed the roxxor. Or maybe that's awesomesauce now. I can never keep up with the slang these days.

Ask that it be escalated again. Even the Senior GMs have a boss, trust me. You have the right to say "Let me talk to your manager/supervisor/superior".

Quote:Thank you. I felt really old for a few minutes there. Not a tabletop gamer huh? RNG means Random Number Gods (or Random Number Generator if you want to be politically correct) sometimes their eyes turn from you and the sacrifice of a die is required to restore favor. Role playing gamers (or at least ones who play D&D) sacrifice a twenty sided die (d20) whereas 40k players like myself prefer to sacrifice a six-sided die (d6).

Are you petitioning in game?
You should be getting an email that will have your ticket information which you can update. Ask that the incident be escalated to a senior GM. -
Quote:According to the revision page, that information has been there more or less since June of '06. Were you looking at the RIGHT wiki? http://www.paragonwiki.com or http://wiki.cohtitan.com are the links you should be using.Interesting. Was this a recent update? I don't remember seeing this when I checked a few months ago. Regardless, thank you.

Your game login is also your forum login. It used to be separate. Make sure you're using the right name and password.

Quote:1. Normally it doesn't throttle the FPS at all, so if you have two windows, then both are trying to process at the max (20-30 fps typically, upwards of 50-60 if your setup is capable).A couple of questions:
1. You say to set to a low number like 3...what's the normal setting?
2. I'm assuming that everytime I log into the game everything's defaulted to the normal setting, and that I need to enter that command whenever I log into the second account?
Thanks for the info so far guys
2. The easiest way is to set the flags on the target line, then you don't need to do anything after you log in. You won't see any difference if you're only using one instance. My target is this: E:\NCSOFT\CoHLive\CohUpdater.exe -fullscreen 0 -screen 1280 977 -maxinactivefps 5 -maxfps 20
This puts me in windowed mode, sets my resolution, and my FPS throttles.
Additionally, if I know I'm going to be running two or three accounts in a high lag area (such as a raid or invasion) I'll check "run in safe mode" on the EULA screen. This automatically drops my graphics to the lowest settings. The only catch is that you don't want to accidentally click on options while in safe mode, or it'll save the settings as default. -
Quote:This just makes me think of someone's monitor surrounded by a dozen falling sand egg timers.Minor nitpick/clarification: After you defeat a player, there's a five minute timer where you can't get a drop from that player, regardless if you got a drop or not. If you turn around and defeat a different player, it checks for a drop, and then puts a five minute timer on them as well.
Once you get a drop, a ten minute timer is put on you, and you can't get a drop from any kill until it wears off.
Note that the five minute timers can be refreshed during the ten minute "no drops" interval. If you kill a player and get a drop, then kill him 9:59 later, you get no drop (because you're still in the ten minute window), and you can't get a drop from him in the next five minutes (until the 14:59 mark). This is possible because the two timers are completely separate. -

RNG doesn't like you. Sacrifice a d20.

I'll be doing some switches to blue, and some to red, mostly for RP reasons. I like the grittiness of redside, but I don't like outright villainy. I avoid Westin Phipps' arc if at all possible, and when it's not, I run it OOC because even on my redside herd, I don't have anyone that would be that mean. I can't be truly "evil" so I don't try.

Why wouldn't I, or anyone?
The number is going to end up being some huge to the nth power anyway, bigger than can be calculated by normal means.
At its core, it's still just multiplication.
The proper answer is "As many combinations as there are stars in the sky, or grains of sand on all the beaches in the world."
But does anyone have the means to calculate the exact number of those?
That's better than something with a bunch of exponeted exponents hehe.
But that's no different than the number of stars etc. Given appropriate context, any number can be meaningful.and

Quote:This + running in windowed mode allows me to do this:I don't run two accounts, but I expect that system should be fine. The biggest thing for running two accounts on one PC is to use the /maxinactivefps x command. Set x to a low number like 3. That limits the fps of the account in the background, leaving the bulk of the PC's resources for the active screen. With that command you will need to enter it each time you start the game though.
Another option is to put "-maxinactivefps 3" in the path for the game shortcut, minus the quotes. That way it's always set when you start the game, and you don't need to enter it. Even if you don't run two accounts, it makes alt-tabbing to the wiki or mids much nicer.
I use an Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT -

They should just combine the markets.
