  1. Hi there!

Second example. Edit: Of this guy.

These things make a wonderful permanent memory of your character, so that even when the servers close down (a long, long time from now), you'll still have your favorite toon sitting around to remind you of the good times. If anyone is at all interested, please send either layla or myself a message.

That's a good idea, I do believe I will...though I imagine layla might get pissed with all that work dumped on her, haha.

Oh well, she'll forgive me, I'm sure.

If anyone wants to know more, please PM me (or see layla's shop here) and I'll pass it along.
  3. This interests me, but not enough to skip work to participate in. Now, if you decided to do this on the weekends, I could see getting in on this with my warshade.

  5. I believe Damz and Ice Wall already referred to my favorite, but mine is the bit where you're escorting a journalist in praetoria while beating up some resistance scum.

You make your way to a PPD cop (who is secretly working for the other side, though you don't know it) and have lots of options of what to say to him, some of which asking for help, and some....less polite options. One that I picked was "How about you go get myself and this gentleman a coffee*" (thus infuriating him).

Then later in the arc, you go undercover to ruin his day, and before you walk up to him and fight him, you talk to him, and you have the option to say "Hey, where's my coffee?*"

This was the first time I've laughed out loud, literally, over in-game dialogue.

*The exact wording escapes me, but that was the general script.

By damage, you mean X% chance for the fire DoT, correct? Personally, I go for the DoT, because the -resistance is piddly at best, and not really useful except on hard targets. And on hard targets, you have a team (generally). And if you have a team, chances are there are other people with -resistance proc anyhow.
  7. Not necessarily EB's, but I agree that AV's (And GMs/monsters) should be too haughty/rage filled to flee, except maybe near death.

Save for, you know, the certain characters that it would be thematically appropriate for them to turn tail like cowards.
  8. He may be wrong, but that doesn't change that fact that it's a very small percentage of people that actually have a character that's within the required level range.

I've been wondering when Eden would pop up as a WTF, and if anything would be done as a result of this very issue. I guess we'll soon see.

Somehow I doubt that your original build is worth 10 billion, as you are implying.
  10. Ok, I can see a very quick shower, but 2 minutes...does that mean you come back to play still wet/nekkid? Because so far you've only allotted time for the showering portion, and not the, y'know, the getting dry/presentable part.

Okay for you tl;dr people, listen up --

It's not whether your incarnate powers help your character. It's whether you are made obsolete by the powers on the rest of your team. All ATs can now buff, rez, and nuke. Is that healthy for the game?
I feel the need to also point out that you're assuming everyone takes barrier. I might take it on a scrapper, but for my trollers/blasters, I plan on taking Clarion. Other characters will be taking Ageless (the ones that need moar recharge, anyhow). A sometimes up defense/resist buff would be nice on certain AV fights, but I see it as largely unnecessary in the grand scheme of things.

As to every person having a nuke...like others have said...it's not that great. Very nice burst damage, but it won't invalidate damage ATs.

Yeah. It's...uh, the incarnate trials. Might want to see if layla can do it, she has some kind of sick fascination with that tf.

Ah, embarrasing. I neglected to point out that I use Burn whenever it's up as part of my attack chain, regardless of how many enemies are left. So yes, my MG/SL/MG/etc chain was inaccurate, and will be corrected. Thanks!

I neglected to lean one way or another on this one, because it really depends on how closely you follow my build/ideas. If you rely mostly on Shadow Meld to carry you to the softcap, for sure you want a strong heal. If, however, you plan is to make it so that you have deeper resources pre-SM (for whatever reason), maybe the heal isn't as important to you. Nevertheless, I went for slotting it to heal.

But no, things die really fast, the only stuff that survives the initial Soul drain saturated burn are bosses, and those usually go down with a hit from SL/MG.

Good info! Definitely the route I would go if I ever decide to switch up the hecatomb off SL. As it is now, I'm building for the spiritual alpha (rech/heal), so SL will be getting a good dose of global enhancement to heal, and I'm not really missing the heal bonus as of now.
  15. Frankly, it really depends on what you want to use it for, and how you plan on building the character.

For me, the answer is scrapper. (For reasons stated in the link in my sig.)

If you want it for farming/tanking purposes, a brute is probably a better choice. (Though it is possible to farm on a DM/Fire scrapper--you just have to be on your toes about it. )

You *could* just sell your rare salvage for 3 million and sell all the cheap rare recipes uncrafted. You would only miss out on the (less than) 1 million profit per recipe but you would save a lot of time.
If only that were the case. No, most of the differences between the recipe and the crafted enhancement are quite large. For example, a recipe for lockdown going for 1,000 influence, when crafted, sells for 8-10 million. That's a net profit of at LEAST 5 million influence, as opposed to selling the individual pieces. I just did this to two lockdown pieces last night, as a matter of fact. Also, rare salvage prices are falling, so I'm looking at mainly 2 million a pop for those.

When I feel like being lazy and/or there is a piece of salvage selling well, however, I will take advantage of that.

    Sorry for going OT, Daemodand!

    Cost:

rare salvage + crafting cost + transaction fee
    3 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 4 million

    Profit:

    less than 1 million

He might make more just selling the recipe and running a mission instead of crafting.
In my case, it is worth it.

Step 1: AE map run (Total time, 5 minutes. Net roughly 7-10million inf, and 1500 tickets.)
Step 2: Random Silver rolls. If what you get sucks, vendor/delete it.
Step 3: Acquire rare salvage via tickets.
Step 4: Craft, spending maybe 100-100,000 inf on common salvage only.
Step 5: Profit. At this point, you have netted anywhere from 3-6 million per cheap recipe, much more if the recipe is actually worth something.
    Step 6: See Step 1.

I can run a couple AE runs, come out with 5,000 tickets in maybe 20 minutes of work, convert those tickets into 50 million inf with bad rolls. Quite often I get kinetic Combats and Numina rolls that sell for 60-80 million a pop.

But we're not talking about my methods, so YMMV.

Ah. I see. Well then, never mind me. I'll just go sit in that corner over there.

My lowball statement stands, though. It causes me pain to see a posi proc sell for that little, knowing I've paid millions for the recipe alone.

Your sell prices are seriously making me cry. If you had crafted these, you could have made several times what you made off of it.

The crafted makos/lockdown's alone can sell 5-8 million, Touch of Deaths and Posi blasts go for 8-15 million, and I'm pretty sure that GotA: Run speed goes for more than that (so I assume you're just lowballing everything for minimal marketeering time?).

If you don't AE for easy rare salvage accumulation, I would still say it's worth the investment to craft these suckers to get the full return on your A-Merit purchases.
  21. What do you think the WST is for? Oh sure, it could just be "Happy reward time for running more tf's!"

Or, it could be a way to get a lot of data on how fast/easy we run these.
  22. By the way, thanks Ocasta. I needed a bind like that for my dom and ill/rad.

    Turn off the sound.

No, really. That's what I'd do--but then, I hate the repetitive sound effects of combat. I only turn it on for glowie hunts.

Outside of that, no, no ideas for ya.

I'd like to just add to this conversation by saying that on my server (Protector), there is a certain Fire Armor tank that regularly runs MoSTF's every Thursday (as the main tank, generally), and the runs are quite often successful.

I'm sure he gets outside buffs to help him accomplish this, but then, I don't see that as an issue.

And of course, a similarly invested elec armor build (with or without buffs) can do the same.
