How about making glowies act as friendlies with a series of point blank area of effect buffs that ignore line of effect, each with a progressively smaller radius?
Have the buffs do nothing, but they stack with each other. So as you get closer and closer to the center more icons appear as 'effecting' you.

This is my only response to the workaround comment. =-3
Though I do like the 'any terminal, anywhere' idea, too. Now if only ALL the zones were considered 'co-op' for teaming purposes (but still impossible to get to) so we didn't NEED a Pocket D terminal for cross-faction Mission Architect teaming.
Though, again: Battered and heavily contested Warzone gets an architect. Monkey Fighting, ski-lodge, interdimensional arena, dance club and hangout doesn't.

Tankers should get Rain of Fire in their mastery pool... Unfortunately that would be WAY too powerful, since Tanker Taunt with it's -range component forces foes to stay inside the Rain of Fire.
Try it yourselves. I've got a 34 fire blaster who constantly teams with my boyfriend's tanker. They just STAY piled on him, no matter what.
Though a scrapper set with Rain would be a GREAT emergency 'get offa me!' move, as enemies flee, pell-mell, giving the scrapper time to escape while still hurting ALL of his foes. And if there WAS a tanker on the team with the scrapper... well. Rain would become a large area high damage attack!

Actually I don't like the building because of the server lag...
I just recently upgraded my RM To 2GBs with a GeForce Go7800 256MB video card. I've got a Dual Core processor, too.
Running around at Max Graphics at superspeed is now a reality for me, until I get close to an Auction House or Architect Engineering building.
Cross Server Lag. >_<
Cross Server Functionality. =-)

Plus it FITS the D better than it fits the RWZ, don't ya think?
Couple of guys hanging out in the D get into an argument. So they head over to the simulator, load up a burning building hologram, and race to rescue the most people to settle a bet without endangering real people.
-Rachel- -
Seems simple enough to me...
You allow players to use the D for cross-faction Teaming from level 1. Do you have any idea how much I'd LOVE to do that? Grind MA Arcs 'til I hit 35, then hit Cimerora or the RWZ... Yeah. That sounds like a heckuva lotts fun!
Is it against the design document to have cross-faction teaming under 35?

*rises from her chair, slowly clapping*
You win, Fred.

It was an apology for a deleted post. He then resigned (got fired, whatever) over the issue.

My fondest wish is that they'd break free of the 'Destined One' arc-lock and create Council Patrons, Nemesis Patrons, Family Patrons, and Carnival Patrons, too!
I'd just like more variety than 'Water, Souls, Maces, Electricity' as my four choices for EVERY AT at 41+ ...

Scooped by Psyonico! XD

The Devs of the City team are more vocal than any other MMO team I've EVER seen. It's really awesome that they are so involved with the community.
That said.
There is also a lot of in-circle Censorship the Devs have to deal with. Say the wrong thing and you Alienate a portion of the players, make a promise you can't live up to, or ruin your image with the team.
It'd be great if the Devs could just come to the forums and post WHATEVER they want. But keep in mind: They're at -work-. They've got rules they've gotta follow.
Anyone remember Lighthouse's final post? Or the one Sexy Jay made a few days ago? How about Jack Emmert (Statesman) remarking on how much he doesn't LIKE Roleplayers?
Things like that get taken off the forums and stricken from history to keep the playerbase happy.
-Rachel- -
The point of the game is to have fun.
If you're not having fun unless you're becoming more powerful then BEHOLD! You're gaining experience points which bring you to the next level of POWER! Mua ha ha ha haaaaaaaaa!
Level 50? Not gaining more power? So try rolling a new alt. An AT you haven't played before. Again: BEHOLD! Through XP you get stronger!!!!!
Not to mention you're gaining merits and inf on THAT Character which can be used to purchase IO recipes for the level 50 whom you wish to grow more powerful Hmmmm?
It's easier now than when IOs -launched- to get the IOs you want. Don't FARM for them, just have fun playing the game.
Oh. And ANY game is a waste of time since you're not accomplishing something productive in your life (earning money, making your family happy, healthy, wealthy, or wise, building a house, providing sustenance) So don't tell me that playinmg the game is wasting your time UNLESS you're getting more powerful.
It's a waste of time ALWAYS!

I played on Virtue for the better part of 3 years (With short forays into Triumph and Guardian). Teams I got on would almost always clear Safeguards and Mayhems -fully-. Why? Because it's -fantastic- xp.
I'm thinking it's less 'Virtue' or 'Safeguards being broken' and more a string of -really- bad luck on teams you've picked.
Alternatively it might be because I'm one of the -many- RPers that almost never hits the D to 'emote for three hours' before bed. Instead I'm the kind of RPer that puts up full posts between attacks in the middle of a fight.
So I won't be signing the idea of adding accolades. But I -will- sign the idea of people no longer using labels (RPer, PvPer, L337) to divide each other into smaller groups for the purposes of insulting them En Masse? =-3

You... Did notice that you've got 2 AoE Hold powers in this set at tiers 6 and 7 where the standard AoE Hold power of controller sets is at 7...
So Elec gets access to their hold a lot earlier AND gains the ability to stack holds in an AoE making it possible to lockdown the whole area INCLUDING multiple bosses, while OTHER trollers have to drop their AoE hold and then use their Single Target power to choose ONE boss to lockdown fully...?
Just checking...
-Rachel- -
This is a fantastic idea that I would ADORE seeing implemented.
Want. Nao.
-Rachel- -
Oh? So you wouldn't mind buying the rest of us better computers, would you?
*playfully, not mean!*
-Rachel- -
You didn't even directly comment on my offering to your idea...
Then you give 'Bug Control' a PBAoE Heal power, a group stealth, and a Self Armor...
Right.
-Rachel- -
Just trying to see if I can come up with powersets based on random ideas other people provide? =-P
What AT? Primary or secondary?

Before anyone asks: Yes. I know Spiders are not bugs. But they're commonly accepted as similar enough to be labeled as such.
[u]Insect Control[u]
Tier 1 Spiderbite: Single target immobilize with Minor Damage. Standard for a control set. Animation would be the general 'web' effect of a single target immobilize power with an added graphic of spiders climbing around in the webs.
Tier 2 Swarm: Single target Foe Hold with moderate damage. Animation would likely consist of the 'choking' hold animation while surrounded by the swarm the OP linked to. Just replace the 'Char' black cloud with the DE Swarm.
Tier 3 Spiderlings: AoE immobilize with minor DoT. Same animation as Spiderbite, though I'd suggest having a 'carpet' of dark particles (spiders) move towards the target area. Like Tenebrous tentacles.
Tier 4 Crawling Doom: Ground Target slow field such as quicksand which lowers the target's damage resistance instead of defenses.
Tier 5 Stinging Swarm: Ground Target Area of Effect. Creates a pet with a large number of hit points and a taunt aura with minor DoT.
Tier 6 Ant Mound: Summon a swarm of ants from beneath your foes. Ground Target Area of Effect pulsing foe hold (like Volcanic Gasses) animation would be ants crawling in pre-set lines over an illusory patch of ground and over held targets.
Tier 7 Cloud of Flies: Ground Target Area of Effect AoE -tohit-perception. Summon a MASSIVE swarm of flies which greatly reduces the accuracy of foes in the AoE. Perhaps add in a minor chance to stun, NO damage whatsoever, and make the NPCs not notice this attack. I.E. they're too busy dealing with the flies to notice the PCs.
Tier 8 Summon Swarm: Summon 3 DE Swarms with all the normal powers (and HP) thereunto.
Tier 9 Summon Wasp: Summon a Giant Wasp pet with decent HP and good damage. Create a new (if rudimentary) skeleton for it and give it only 2 attacks. Bite and Sting. Both recharge VERY fast. Bite deals high lethal damage, sting deals toxic.
Unless otherwise noted all damaging powers in the set deal Toxic damage.

What Oathbound said.
Plus Longbow's focus is ENTIRELY on Arachnos.

Game. Balance.
If the Villains are stronger than the heroes in PvE why would anyone want a Hero on a Co-Op team? For the ITF or LGTF, for example?
Break the balance, break the game.
-Rachel- -
... You can go to the contact that gave it to you (or call them) and drop it.
But you can only do one drop every 3 days.
-Rachel- -
In CoV yes. Villains are just heroes with bad guys for contacts.
That's a problem with the system. Personally? I'd rather have the 'contacts' of CoV be blackboards, stacks of papers, and such rather than people sending you on missions. Going out and accomplishing your own dastardly plots!
But that's not gonna happen. The point is: Making Villains more powerful than heroes doesn't make them more villainous. It makes them stronger.
-Rachel- -
Yes... But Paradoxes are IMPOSSIBLE in the City Of Universe.
Even if I fail a mission or task force that will end the city as we know it (Heroside Respec trial for example!) nothing bad happens (the reactor doesn't blow, killing most of the people in the city)
Because it's an MMO Paradoxes are impossible to implement, so the storyline doesn't ALLOW for a Paradox. Ever.
Remember the Oro 'TF' where you try and stop the Circle from summoning the giant demon? You can't save 'Speedy'. He still dies and a statue is raised in his honor.
You can't change history in the Paragon Universe. Only preserve it.
-Rachel-

It's not that good an idea...
All it teaches us is that villains are stronger and better than heroes, obviously. Especially on Co-Op Task Forces where Villains mop the floor with their foes whilst Heroes struggle.
There's just too many issues to balance to make this into a good idea. A Better one? Having the Writers come up with villainous storylines enacted by the player, rather than running to various contacts.
