  1. It's a matter of semantics; if you're charged 10% of the sale fee less the listing fee on sale, it's exactly the same end result as if you're refunded the listing fee and charged a full 10% of the sale price.

    IIRC there's only a single line, with a figure that's 10% less sales fee, written to the chat box when you collect your inf - so I'd regard "10% less sales fee" as being what "officially" happens.

  6. Yes - IIRC the system ignores the "_", and will look for a match at the start of the command when trying to process things, so either of our options will do. I have to agree that powexec_name makes the meaning of things clearer though, so I'd go with that.

  8. I don't think you do contact QA, normally - it's an internal department that runs tests on the game to check everything's working properly before release, and investigates/verifies bugs.

    Depending on the nature of your problems there might not be a fix that can be applied here and now to sort things out; that might need a fix in the game code itself which will need to be rolled out in a patch. If that is the case "passed to QA" means they're trying to reproduce your bugs, and if they can they'll pass details of it on to the development team. Then it'll be prioritised, and sooner or later a fix might appear on the live servers.

    The only way I can see things coming back from QA without going through a patch is if the problem's something like database corruption on your toon(s). In that case if they can reproduce it a dev might make a specific fix on the affected data.

    To my mind, the Eclipse wording strongly suggests that when they're talking about "essence" it boils down to souls...
  12. Easy to describe, but that's making things a lot more complicated to implement.

    Not only do you need to check the SG size when pricing items for base building (that could be quite easy), you also need to add a whole new table to the database for past SG members and their leaving dates. That last bit will need a lot more work.

    Base AT powers are as generic as possible, it's up to the player to decide how they work.

    There is no such thing as "raw" energy. Electromagnetic radiation is as close as you are going to get.

    Cheerfully ignoring the fact it's all comic book physics anyway, they do seem to have got their terminology a bit mixed up with the Power Set names and corresponding power effects.

    From RedTomax, "Energy" Blast attacks are all a mix of energy and smashing damage - you need to go to Electrical Blast to find pure energy damage.

    The best spin I can put on this is that Energy Blasts are actually plasma based, hence the smashing component. This might also (sort of) explain the KB in Energy Blast attacks; if they were really 100% photonic energy you'd need rather huge amounts to knock them over via the momentum of the photons alone! (Hmmmm, guess it could be some sort of ICF ablation effect...)

    I'd be all for smaller steps between different levels of base capability, either by making expensive things cheaper or adding new things with capabilities between the current steps, with intermediate prices to match.

    I can't see variable prices being brought in though - if things are seriously cheaper on small groups that would be exploited, with stuff like "everyone leave the SG for the weekend - I'm redesigning the base and will reinvite you on Monday".
  15. All good points, Deadly_Buzz - I was similarly boggled at the big step up from "starter" to "next viable" as far as power and control's concerned.

    FWIW with that step made, and the starting plot size now full of rooms and stuff (some of it actually useful!), I'm finding the next step up (larger control room for Oracles, and maybe larger plot too) is a doozy too.

    After earning about 1.5 million Prest from various alts, and that lovely double prestige grant, to get where I am now, each subsequent add on needs a million or so each if I want to take things further.

    Yeeesss, having your last opponents' extracted souls hovering around you, enslaved to your bidding, does slightly undermine the whole "I just knocked them out, and they've been safely teleported to the Zig" idea, doesn't it?

    Would it help to think of it as some sort of Karma-building community service thing for their next reincarnation?

    Just a thought - if you build up a list of participating toons' names (from chat/tell lines) in a first pass of the file, you could then check for chat lines starting with any of those names. Those that do will be emotes and/or a subset of the system messages.

    Assuming the system messages are pretty boilerplate ("X has defeated Y") you could identify a good number of those too.

    All more work than you'd need if the "[System]"-type tags you've suggested were in, of course, and quite possibly something you've already thought of!

    That could just be the potential to make PayPal payments in UKP or Euro for US based accounts.

    Using PayPal for EU accounts - a completely different company, financially speaking - wasn't clearly addressed by the quoted text.

    Well, it depends on how much you need to catch up on - there've also been new maps for Faultline (same entrance as before), the Rikti War Zone (was Rikti Crash Site - new entrances) and Pocket D (replaced Paragon Dance Party - new entrances).

    The "/sync" command should get things connected again when you find you're subject to this.
