Lift & KB sets

Does a set like Kinetic Crash actually work in Lift from Grav/? On mids it doesnt actually increase the mag of Knockup from lift. Do KB sets only increase Knockback and not Knockup?

Edit: Fixed a typo

Knockback and Knockup are really the same thing; if you increase the magnitude of Knockup enough, it turns into Knockback.

(Which is why Knockup attacks can send blue/green mobs flying backwards - it has a greater effect against them.)

Edit: Fixed typo

Maybe its just something wrong in mids then, put a full set of kinetic crash in lift and the mag on lifts KU is still 12.5, if i put regular KB IOs in it the mag increases.

Not sure about this. Knockdown & knockback are the same thing and knockdown will become knockback if you enhance it enough.

But Knockup is always knockup, if you enhance it it should become knockup even higher AFAIK (with the usual bit of sideways movement) but will never become proper knockback.

Ah - you could well be right; all concerned may point, laugh and dance around me chanting "Just like George! Just like George!".

Nope, Knockback knocks the target directly away from the player, Knockup knocks the target up the z-axis of the game.

However knockdown is exactly the same as knockback, but with a magnatude less than 1.

Knockup powers are rare, powers like Ice Slick do knockdown.

I really should do something about this signature.

So basically if u want to put a set into a knockup power like lift u wont increase the mag. Shame really since i wanted to 6 slot lift with 6x kinetic crash for a nice rech bonus

You will, AFAIK, but all it'll do is make them go "wheee" further into the sky. So you're just giving them more of a Super Happy Fun Ride.

But you can still slot the set in and get the set bonus, no reason why not.

I wanted to increase the mag of it though so i can KU ppl in pvp

Indeed. Slotting a KU power with enhancements wont just knock things higher, it will help to overcome KB resistance.

Psionic Tornado (Controller Epic) does knockup but on low mobs (green/grey) it often wends them flying backward (outward) as well, so knockup can be knockback as well. Higer mobs often just get knocked down so it can also be knockdown.

[/ QUOTE ]Post-ragdoll, knockup causes the mobs to move in a random direction as well. Which made knockup far less desirable as crowd control.

Of course, the best knockup power in the game was changed to knockback anyways, so it's not that bad a nerf.
