  1. Todd and Kioshi, thanks so much for your answers. It makes more sense now.

I would definitely love for somebody to create a plant/storm guide!

Kioshi, question about your build: Why did you choose Grant Invisibility instead of Stealth? I thought that Stealth + Superspeed = virtual invisibility? Am I incorrect?

    Thanks again!
  2. I hope I'm not threadjacking TOO badly, but this thread has persuaded me to roll a plant/storm controller. That, and "Local Man" contributing. I've always highly respected his input when it comes to controller slotting.

I do have a question re: Roots - I know (thanks to a team member in sewers this morning) that Roots does, indeed, have a -KB component; however, it doesn't last as long as the Immobilized component.

That being said, I'm guessing I should cast Roots and then IMMEDIATELY cast Tornado? (if I don't want them blowing away from my melee buddies)?

Or is there a better strategy? I saw in the build above that Roots is slotted with Posi Blasts and that makes sense of course.... so I'm guessing Roots is more used for AOE damage, rather than containment?

I apologize if these are dumb questions and thank you for any help you can provide.
  3. CatAstrophy,

Thanks very much for taking the time to respond. That makes sense. I appreciate your help.
  4. Hello all,

I did a search for "Paragon Points" but found nothing related to my question. I apologize if this has been asked/covered many times.

My sub renews on the 28th of the month. On Oct. 28, I did not receive any Paragon Points. I've learned that it may happen sometime after our renew date. It's been 25 days.

    1) Is there a way to see a history of points rewarded?
    2) Should I contact Support, or will they just let me know there's an issue and there's nothing they can do?

    Thanks for any help.

Oh! Okay, good to know. Thanks very much for the help, UberGuy.

    Good point, Arctic.

Done. Thank you for the suggestion.
  7. Question: How does one run two separate accounts in Windows?

Solution I found: Options> Graphic & Audio> Change resolution to "Windows"; Close your launcher (if it's open; re-start your launcher and you SHOULD be able to log on with your second account.
  8. Forgive me for asking what may be an obvious question.

What is "Clarion Destiny"? I checked paragonwiki.com and didn't come up with much.

    Thank you.
  9. Not surprisingly, I'm probably in the minority.

I still use my salvage racks, teleporters, and invention stations. Not because I'm "loyal" to any cause, but just most likely because I'm ignorant to more effective ways to travel around!

    Oh. Hmm.

I wonder what their reasoning is. I know they want to encourage more social interaction and I feel they do that with all the TFs, missions that require more than one person, etc. Pocket D and other avenues provide many opportunities.

I'm not a developer, but I am curious what harm it does.

I don't think I'll ever know their thoughts. And that's okay... in my life there are more important things about which to worry.

Thanks Aett, but I don't want to hassle you either.

I was going to name-drop how you've done it for me in the past, but you have your own missions and such to do.

But if I get in a bind, I'll come to you. Thanks!
  12. Necrotech_Master and Adeon Hawkwood,

Thank you very much for taking time to respond. That's good news about Tier 2, as my second account has been around since '05 I believe.

    Again, I appreciate your help!
  13. Hello all,

I have a question for people who have Supergroups (SGs) that only (or mostly) consist of one person (them).

How do you get your characters into your SG?

What I used to do: Pay for two accounts. Open up each account in two separate windows. Have one character recruit/promote the other character.

And this worked fine. But I was finding that I was only mainly using the "more Veteran" account... because of all the Veteran goodies that the other account didn't have. And why pay for an account JUST to recruit.

When the F2P came into play, I got excited because now I could have an account be FREE and us it to recruit... until I learned that F2P accounts CANNOT be in SGs.

So, I'm wondering. I can I pay a one-time fee to have the F2P account join SGs? This would solve my problem.

    Or

Do you have other suggestions? Yes, I know I could ask perfect strangers to join my SG just to recruit my character, but I hate bothering people with that request and/or I don't want them to have access to my salvage racks, etc.

    Thanks for any suggestions.
  14. Thanks again, Rajani.

My meter shows pretty much all red and when I hover over the arrow, it does say I will get the +150 reward pts.

Also, I did get the "Radiant" badge, so I'm going to have to believe I'm set.
  15. Thanks for answering, Rajani. So I take it I just need to wait until next month to see it increase? There's no way to confirm it before then.

    Again, thank you.
  16. I have 35 tokens, but my meter (on the right) isn't completely filled (meaning there's just a sliver NOT red).

I have all 8 tiers slotted and one slot in tier 9.

Is there a way I can confirm that next month I'll get 550?

A previous poster mentioned "interface". Where might I find this interface to see if I'll get 550 instead of 400 next month?

Or must I just wait and see if I get 550? (And where can I see when this is added, or should I keep a tablet near me and keep track of points I have? (Not being sarcastic... just curious ) )

    Thanks much!
  17. Hyperstrike, thanks so much for answering. I'll check into those suggestions you offered.

I called the Geek Squad yesterday and they also mentioned Acronis. I'm thinking since my regular HD is substantially larger than my SSD, I'll check into those you recommended for partitioning.

    Again, you have my thanks.
  18. Thanks, all!

(Silver, I didn't take it as an insult! )

Well, I ORIGINALLY planned on having my Win 7 on the SSD. The circumstances had me needing the computer quickly. That, along with a long story of backups, etc... had me just do what I needed done. (I'm a teacher and my computer died on me the WEEKEND before school started...so yeah, that was fun. :P )

I didn't know there is such thing as drive-cloning. I will mention it to the Geek Squad (although I'm not sure why they didn't suggest it).

I'm guessing it's faster than uninstalling/reinstalling the OS and such?
  19. Seebs, thanks very much for taking the time to respond.

    I appreciate your help.

I've already installed it in the C: drive. I'm guessing it's okay to uninstall and then re-download it and re-install it in a folder I create?

(I.e. I'm sure I just can't move the contents from the C drive to the J drive? Or can I?)

Sorry for the bonehead questions. And again...thank you!
  20. Hello all,

I've done a search and read the threads on SSDs, but it seems they're mostly the pros and cons of having CoX on an SSD.

My question is: How does one go about installing on an SSD?

My old computer crashed/died, so I purchased a new one and had an 120 GB SSD installed. It was advised to have my applications on there (Photoshop, Office, etc.) It's drive "J".

I decided I wanted CoX back on this new computer so came to the site down install it. It asked where I wanted it and I chose J. However, it said it can't be in the root directory. I do understand that. It said choose a folder.

However, I wasn't sure if I should create a folder (I don't see "Program Files" in the J drive) because I thought perhaps the game wouldn't be able to find what it needs to find.

I did notice a Program Files folder in the C drive (along with Office, Adobe, etc.) so I'm guessing the Geek Squad installed those folders there and perhaps the .exe files in the J drive?

I'm sure it's not as easy as moving the .exe for CoX to the J drive while I keep everything else in the C drive (yes, I realize how dumb that may sound! )

Any advice on how I could safely install CoX to my J (SSD) drive would be greatly appreciated.

I thank you for your time.

    Wonder not.

It's been my experience the zombies and other Halloween stuff will last well into Veteran's Day.

I think I get the most enjoyment of these types of events from watching those who are experiencing it for the first time. It's fun to see heroes knocking at the door and when I check their veteran badges, it is 3 or 6 months.

It's like watching kids at Christmas... their enthusiasm is contagious.

At least for the first two or three days.

I believe there are appropriate times when vulgarity is ok. For example if someone were to come up to you and say, "Hey how would you like to go to the local prison, get naked, and play some soap soccer with the inmates?"

    Sure you could say,

    a. "I'm sorry but I won't be joining you. Thanks so much for asking. I appreciate the invitation, but I've checked my schedule and it turns out, unfortunately that I'm unavailable."

    Or you could say,

    b. "F*** off!"

Sure the first response is more polite but it lacks the visceral impact the second response expresses.
Of course, if that were, indeed the invitation... choice "B" may be mistaken for NOT refusing the request.

I'd be more inclined to choose choice "A"... without the "appreciate the invitation" and the "unfortunately" parts.

    Trench coat?

Ah! That was my problem...thanks, Kheldarn! Thanks, DarkGob, for the help as well.

    Trench coat?

    Hello all,

Okay... just hit my 66 month veteran badge and I'm drawing a complete blank.

For some reason, I don't have "Trench coat" under "Upper" in the costume creator. However, I thought for sure I had it.

How/When do we get the trench coat option? Is there a certain "pack" I need?

Sorry for the bone-skull question... but the way to get that costume option escapes me.

    Thanks, in advance.
