I didn't know that, I think that's a good idea if it stacks! I altered the slotting to HO because the accuracy on Hack and Headsplitter seem generally quite low, although perhaps I was forgetting that FA will be running to compensate.

I would have to agree here, I just like the idea that your hero has something up his sleeve you know?

I replaced the Hecatomb in Hack with Crushing Impact not only for a lower cost, but again because the stats of the actual attack seemed quite low with the accuracy being around 60-70% and the damage only 89% (I like to try to get more out of a power) but I do understand with the -res proc(s) the damage will be improved anyway.

Upon reflection this is very true. I didn't realise I was already over the HP cap, and so I think i'll try another iteration of your build when I get back home.

Thanks for your input and putting up with my ignorance so far... keep it coming

Slotting MoG for +def and +res is pretty much redundant because the defense is already over the softcap and the resistance is standing right on the line. The same logic applies to both Dull Pain and Instant Healing simply because getting the use the power more will contribute more than getting slightly larger numbers out of them. You'll get better returns off of slotting Parry as an attack and using it regularly rather than turning it into a purely defensive power. It already kills your DPS. You don't want to make it any worse.

Try this build on for size. It'll be better damage thanks to having a better attack string along with the slotted procs. It'll also have better survivability because the */regen powers are all recharging faster and you've got a much more substantial base of defense to work off of. Endurance sustainability shouldn't even be an issue thanks to the Perf Shifter procs and +end accolades.
I've checked out your builds, and played around a little to suit my playstyle more. I like the +end you have and the idea of higher rech/def is of course a much better option. For some reason I assumed +regen would be necessary on a regen char but def/rech is a better way of going about surviving *facepalm*. I like the idea of turning parry into a more damaging utility power, as it will still give some defence anyway. I replaced the achilles heal proc with a HO on Headsplitter because without slice in the build I will be using hack a lot more in the attack chain anyway, so any extra damage I can squeeze out of Headsplitter is better.

I like the improved survivability but only really having 4 attack powers (minus parry) will be something to get used to.

What do you guys this to this:

  3. Well my BS/Regen scrapper has gone through many iterations in the last few years but I think now is the time to settle on a IO build that will last a while.

I think of this character as my 'carnage' toon. If there's a time I just want to operate on the 6 second rule for a bit this is the toon I will be on.

The following build is designed to maximise survivability, damage, accuracy and healing/regen. I am looking to max this character out (so purples wouldn't be a no) and any influence I could save up ... so go wild if it will benefit the toon.

Please, can you guys help me on this one?

Hey Lightslinger, thanks for the comments. The font in the text boxes is a font called Christopherhand.

  6. Well this news definitely shocked me when I heard it a few weeks ago and now you've announced it, there's no change there.

Still at least it's not a permanent leaving and you'll be back hopefully sooner than later.

    *salutes* See you soon, mate!
  7. My new sig... comic book style feel with links to more info about my 2 arcs

Edit: I made them in photoshop
  8. Alright folks I'm back with a passion!

I've been away for 3 weeks from the game what with life being way too hectic to be able to commit to play, so I stopped my sub for a while. Before that I pmed and emailed in-game Beyond Reach, but he didn't reply so I'll just skip over his request for now.

I'm gonna keep taking arc requests, people, just bear in mind it's not a weekly service, it's a leisure thing that I will try to do as quickly as I can but if you wan't an arc poster from me, I'll put time and effort into trying to get it to be the best I can and that will take more than an hour or two, so please bear that in mind if you request a poster from me.

Onto the next one, hopefully it'll be in this thread sooner than you think!

    Old Skool

Yeah it was great fun! I did a Hollows event a few weeks ago and it's all about the old skool attitude that seems lost amongst the farmers today. I think that a good old fashioned team is a lot more interesting than a farm because you're consistently placed into situations that require teamwork and co-operation as well as tactics and forward thinking. In my experience you don't get that much of that stuff in farms, and the playerbase that can farm to 50 in a matter of hours is suffering because of it.

I'll be on when I can, trying to level up my new WS (got to lvl 12!) and running regular teams. The amount of time we spent saying "gratz" in team tonight so often I'm surprised people think they need the MA farms!
  11. I was wondering where this thread had gotten to... *shameless bump*

    Anymore ideas/support along these lines?

    PVP recipe drops

    [ QUOTE ]
Also lowering the rep timer from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From the same patch. So you get a chance to drop one, once every 5 mins in a zone (i presume that in arena you only count a kill as unique once and even then probably only if the match is rated??) and once per arena session...

    Right?

    PVP recipe drops

    New Patch note US:

    [ QUOTE ]
Fixed PvP rewards to function once again. Now, influence, inspirations, and other normal rewards occur on every PvP kill, while PvP IO recipes can only be rewarded on rep-valid kills.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, as far as I can tell that means you get a chance to drop one, once every 5 mins in a zone or once per arena session?

    Is that right?
  14. Edited original post to say, but I'm on Union although anyone can do it anywhere.
  15. When I logged in the game briefly this morning I had a horrible shock that I do not want to repeat, though I fear I might. I decided I'd go to The Hollows to try to help any low level players that might need it. To my horror I found the zone was utterly and completely abandoned...

I think a lot of us have fond memories of The Hollows. I know I do. It was the zone that struck me the most and is one of my favourites. I remember once I hovered straight from one end to the other ... took me half an hour but I enjoyed doing it, such was the newness and excitement of the game. The way it was always filled with people of all skill levels; some trying to level and some trying to help but it was always filled with people that had a love and an excitement for the game. Even if it was your first night in the game you would be joined with people that were experiencing their concept and character for the first time; there was an air of excitement!

So, to go in and find that this zone that hosts all these memories and the connotations that go along with that deserted, really disheartened me about the state of the game as it is today.

The way the farmers crowd and almost oppress the once-social atmosphere of Atlas Park with cries of "LFF 2 spaces" or something like that just saddens me.

So, I propose that you meet me in The Hollows tonight and throughout this week, and just team up no matter what your level is... if you're higher, exemplar down, if you're too low, sk up etc. Whether you like The Hollows or not, or would just prefer to carry on inf farming just take a break for a single night and let's all rejoin together to make the game buzz with the excitement of the characters and the people around us, like it used to!

Take the opportunity to start new characters or old ones you had forgotten. Get out there and team like we all used to, and rekindle your love for the game and the community that brings the game alive.

Edit: I play on Union so I will be doing this there, but anyone can do this on any server!
  16. Suggestion: Implement a set of time spent on Character Badges. e.g. 100 hours, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and above badges. This would encourage longevity on a character and be something to achieve.

    yay or nay?
  17. Gm_Darren needs a promotion! We were doing the new SF the other day and he helpfully and politely helped us through the buggy final mission!

    PVP recipe drops

What you do is you buy everything that's at a certain price (presumably quite low) so that you take away the supply. Then you re-list that item 1 at a time and slowly drive the price up to incredible levels so that you make a lot of money

e.g. buy all supplies of something for 1 million, re list it and bump the price up to 20 mil...if you have 20 of those supplies then get a profit of 19 million on each one, you're rich very quick.

Back on topic, I really hope the pvp io's and other drops get sorted soon!
  19. I am aware a lot of people like to do Westin Phipps Arc's... as such I am interested in doing an Arc told by him as the contact in the MA - could you provide any information about what stories the Dev's would have like to have him tell (or innocent people he could victimise) that you guys haven't ever had chance to write about?
  20. I like all my character's names, it's something I have to have just right before I start my career on any character. Personally I love Soul Storm. (had it I4/5 and it's since been copied to take the name of GW's signature attack )

We must uphold the national image for our transatlantic cousins.
The stiff upper lip must not waver.
Nerfs are not "Doom" they are merely a nuisance (upgrading to "bloody nuisance" if deemed gamebreaking).
We must maintain the sense of fair play. Offer tea before flaming, or somesuch, it's only polite.
    And trolling just isn't cricket.

    Tea and scones anyone?

<Just incase: I am well aware that these are EU boards but lampooning a national culture that isn't my own just wouldn't be cricket, would it? >
