No, "swoosh" is the sound you hear just before the falling piano hits you. Which is not all that bad when you are a toon.
What that has to do with Nike is beyond me. Is Getting-pianos-thrown-on-your-head now an official sport? -

Maybe that is exactly what Athyna wants: create a big accent soup. A good nourishing soup to feed her syllables and... other word thingies.
It is all an evil plan, I tell ya! -

fi they do it tactical, they release it before CO hit's the stores.
they can try and take the chance when CO is released, but i think that i16 will look like nothing after they tasted CO.
it's a 50/50 guess, but it's best to show it before CO.

I'm treading very carefully here, but looks are not everything.
Games these days have to be innovative in gameplay as well. If it's the same old systems rehashed, then any new game released - that is like that - runs the risk of failure.
I don't expect there to be any new superhero MMO release in 2009.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you implying CO may not be the WoW killer we all assumed it was going to be?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think someone on the German boards said it best: CoX's best defense against CO is the free month that comes with the purchase.
Seriously, the fun in CO is rapidly declining once you leave the character creator... and sometimes even before that. I am disappointed to say the least. -

I never have and probably never will use any power from the presence pool, so it is 0% for me, too.

People who pay their subs should be allowed to farm because farming helps create supply and demand, and in normal missions helps to pump purples into the economy which you buy.
[/ QUOTE ]That is only half correct. Yes, farming increases supply and demand, but with MA and with PLed people demanding certain pieces of salvage and recipes only (because anything that is not for the "final spec" is not worth the effort time-wise) this increase is not universally healthy for the economy.
And most people who can afford buying purples regularly are often farmers themselves, so this influx is ultimately self-serving and not really for the benefit of the economic community as a whole.
<blockquote><font class="small">Antwort auf:<hr />
And without farmers there'd be significantly less inf and purples floating around so the prices would skyrocket.
[/ QUOTE ]This statement is in crass contradiction with logic and facts: How could prices possibly skyrocket with less inf around? And how comes that prices have skyrocketed with the arrival of MA and the golden age of farming?

And as long as they don't negatively affect anyone else (don't give me spamming invites or teamsplits QQ they happen anyway) they should be allowed to do as they want.
[/ QUOTE ]Somebody who farms excessively and says that his farming has never affected anyone negatively is either ignorant or lying.

Farming isn't (but can be) an exploit, but usually it's harmless.
[/ QUOTE ]Agreed, as long as we are talking about a casual amount of farming. Due to lack of insight into relevant statistics I can not say if this is "usual" or not.
I have nothing personal against farmers and decline invites to farming teams regularly and politely, but with farming it is just like with almost anything else: too much is poison. -
Only the first two out of a much longer list:
Raiju no Oni - This fire/fire brute will probably get green fire as this is more fitting for his oni nature.
Yashokutaiyou - My fire/rad troller is hoping for some sickly yellowish green for his powers. -

What's the farm expoit?
If You can get 7 levels in one missions from enemies what doesn't even fight back, I consider that exploit.
[/ QUOTE ]Uuuuuhm, yes. A bloody blatant one on top of that. -
I agree. Stone on a brute is so... unbrutish.
But elec... well, colour it green, get Vanguard claws and go Rikti hunting!
But since claws do not have any particular syinergies to consider any armour set would probably work somehow. -
Ever since I upgraded my PC and switched to Vista while at it I use to get strange mouse click issues when playing CoX.
It happens ever so often that I click somewhere but the game thinks that I have clicked somewhere else. Interestingly the object clicked is often on the same horizontal height of the screen as the one I was actually trying to click. So, I click on an enemy but instead of targeting him I change the chat tab. Or I click on a glowie and involuntarily leave the team.
First I thought it might have something to do with my mouse drivers since I had an older Logitech mouse and the Vista support seemed to be lacking. But since today I have a new mouse (Sidewinder X8) and the problem is still there.
Has anybody else encountered the problem or is it all a Nemesis plot against me?
EDIT: Just banished all that old Logitech stuff from my drive. Maybe there were some interferences... you never know. -
These graphics bugs appear randomly with several ATI cards since CoX does not work too well with their drivers.
Apparently it has something to do with the tact frequency changing between 2D and 3D graphics (and the frequency dropping below the minimum requred for 3D when viewing 2D graphics), so when you look at your ID window or log to another toon you are likely to get those strange textures.
I had the same bug (plus some crashes thrown in for good measure), but had no problems since I used RivaTuner to force my card to run on a minimum frequency of 750 MHz which is the minimum frequency required for 3D graphics.
However, some gfx card manufacturers have BIOS patches for this kind of issue that you could try. (Although, if you do not know what you are doing I would strongly recommend against flashing your card bios.) -
Those Legacy Chain powers are indeed likely candidates.
I am really looking forward to this. Have to build a grav/earth.
Plus, I hereby dub that combination propellerdom. -
My friends say that I need roughly 1.5 hours per costume change... when I know in advance what I want to build. Well, close enough for a small calculation.
At the moment I have 32 active characters.
So, each additional costume slot per character would keep me occupied for at least 48 hours or two days straight.
Result: Additional character slots are a potential risk to my health.
Result from the... result: I'll take two... or wait... three... or maybe... -
Should better never develop some kind of night blindness or will probably suffer severe head trauma sooner rather than later.

Indeed. He shows much insight into what we today would call "management".
And the name Mr. Machiavellian could work not despite it gives something of a "fair warning" but because of it. (Although Machiavellil might be misunderstood the adjective machiavellian hardly is.) Reminds me of Talleyrand: Especially in his later years he was infamous for being a liar and a traitor, but that did not stop him. To the contrary: He used his reputation to catch opponents off guard and mask his real intentions (and deceptions) behind a big smoke screen.

Nah, it is far too warm for that. Breathing is already hard enough in this hot, damp air. Blowing people down is no option.

Doh! Now I feel the urge to log in Aratron for another chaos ride... and servers are down for maintenance. Doooooom!

Gale is an... extreme power. Two situations to show what I mean:
Me on my first level 50 hero (Aratron, Illu/Storm troller) pushing trolls and clockwork from the streets of Skyway City.
Giggling much.
Gale rules.
A friend on an ice tank, me on a kinetic defender, one pickup guy on an illu/storm troller, all in the early teens, all in the Hollows. The tank tries his best to tank mobs, squishy as he is at that level as a defense user with a defender that has to hit targets to heal him and that only when mobs are close.
One mob runs towards the troller. Does he run around the tank to get rid of his fan? No. Does he use a hold? No. Does he use confusion? No. He uses Gale. In the direction of the tank, blowing mobs away from the tank, out of his -recharge aura and out of heal range.
Tank tries to recollect aggro, spread mobs deal too much punishment, wipe. "Please, would you mind not using Gale? Bad things happen and the tank needs the mobs nearby." No reaction.
Next time a mob turns to the troller he uses Gale again. With a similar effect. "Please do not use Gale. You are making the tank's job a lot harder than it has to be." No reaction.
Next situation... do you see a pattern? "For the last time: do not use Gale or I will have to kick you." Now we get a reaction: "This is my toon and I will play it as I want."
Kick.
Gale sucks.
So, just as many other (especially AoE) KB powers Gale can be fun and even useful in certain situations but it also has the potential to cause much havoc against the team. Unfortunately it is such an early power that other team members often do not yet have the capabilities to compensate for such devastation due to their low level. -
Hehe, I am trying my best. Shannon is great, but sometimes she tends to nova Rikti monkeys... figuratively speaking.
I think it has something to do with the somewhat selective perception of numbers. For example, looking at scrappers vs. blasters from an AoE point of view one could argue that scrappers outdamage blasters if both hit the same number of targets... but how realistic is that? The average blaster ranged AoE has roughly double the radius (15) of the average scrapper AoE (8) which means that it will, also per average, hit roughly four times as many targets in a normal team PvE combat situation. And scrappers' damage modifier is by no means that much higher.
