Weird Stripy Sky?

Hey guys,
I have come across a strange new problem in playing the game. Ever since I upgraded my graphics card to a Radeon HD 4870 2 weeks ago and put up my settings to high, some weird things have happened. Although the game runs smoother in general, some textures seem to get confused or in the wrong place. A perfect example of this:

it can (and does) happen in any part of the game. I had a search through the forums but I couldn't find anything similar to what's happening to me.

You got a typo in the 2nd link

Anyway, what was your previous videocard? If it was a Nvidia, always be sure to remove _everything_ from the previous driver. There are special tools for this (nvidia remover or something), often it will clash with the new drivers.

These graphics bugs appear randomly with several ATI cards since CoX does not work too well with their drivers.
Apparently it has something to do with the tact frequency changing between 2D and 3D graphics (and the frequency dropping below the minimum requred for 3D when viewing 2D graphics), so when you look at your ID window or log to another toon you are likely to get those strange textures.
I had the same bug (plus some crashes thrown in for good measure), but had no problems since I used RivaTuner to force my card to run on a minimum frequency of 750 MHz which is the minimum frequency required for 3D graphics.
However, some gfx card manufacturers have BIOS patches for this kind of issue that you could try. (Although, if you do not know what you are doing I would strongly recommend against flashing your card bios.)
