    I had both a EM/dark brute as a stalker, the shields have exact same stats. Eventualy i dropped my brute, the stalker was somehow way better in fighting, change of fighting style did help alot though. And you get ET earlier

    AR/Ice

    Few lvls eh?
    Currently 3 bars from lvl30, i have to say its still 1 of my favo Blasters to play with (outside my ice/nrg that is).

    But.. yeah, here comes the But.. Although Ice patch+Ignite is Golden Combo, it can be sooooooooo annoying sometimes that mobs are able to run of the ice patch like there is no ice patch at all. Outside that, it can be a time consuming action if the group is a bit scattered around the place.

    True, having a group of mobs packed closely, you can hit (have CE running) ice patch, Build up, Ignite and jump back a bit. Hit flametrower and most minions (i did this even versus orange) are dead in seconds. The radius of Ignite is very very small, so sometimes you need to cast it again.

    My tactics versus 2-3 Minions scattered is quite effective if i may say:
    -Buildup Snipe first mob, finish with slug.
    -Beanbag the 2nd instant, leave him
    -Chillblain the 3rd, Ingite (have 1 SO range), Burst
    -Slug the 2nd, if the 3rd is down, snipe 2nd (or when interupt, frozen sword).
    Often 1st is knocked back due Snipe, 2nd wont hit anyway, 3rd hardly hit since most mobs dont have that good ranged attacks.

    I solo Rugged for about 5 lvls nonstop now, some lvls are extremely hard to finish (specialy with bosses) but with a good old run-and-shoot tactics (with a chillblain to keep em from running) its pretty doable. yeah, i died several times finishing off the Mission boss, partly due no acrobatics yet, other side lack of the 2x-mezz attack.

    Ice patch is cool, but dont rely on it asuming all mobs will auto-knockdown the moment they reach the patch. I've seen dozen mobs they still walk abit, attack you or even just walk over it. Other tricks, with narrow doorways, put ignite at the doorway, they will way less often hit you.

    Specialy bosses is very hard, due lack of double-mezz attack. 2 Beanbags is possible, but recharge of the power is pretty long. 2x Chillbain and ignite (run behind a corner) was my common attack, dropping ice patch a bit back so if he got free he would get slowed there again. Later on that will be abit easier, getting /ice melee hold and Epic hold power.

    Overal its a very nice set to play, the redraw animation can be somewhat annoying at certain situations.

  3. I've seen several Brute Granites in action, teamed up with a Kin they become really mob killers - to a certain degree. Add the Rage from SS/ and they can keep wacking red/purples pretty nonstop. Outside a Kin buff.. they just attack a bit slower, but can buildup fury somewhat faster since they can have way more mobs pounding them then the other brute sets.

    Slot most attacks with 3 recharge you can overcome the -recharge, though you have a minor dent on the -damage part. I have tested a hasten-less Granite, they can perform ok (fast low quick damage) but they just lack a minor bit on damage. Luckely (nearly) perma Rage can overcome that abit. And you can always slot mudpots with damage, it does pretty ok damage too

    As for my Granite tanker, i only have 1 slot Defence, 3 resist and 2 EndReds are my other slots. I mainly focused on end-reductions, because outside Psi damage, running out of endurance is Fear #2 for Granites.
  4. Since im only lvl8 now, but i tend to plan my builds way before i reach the lvl. I've seen quite a few EA's using it though they have defence based set wich is far higher then Inv might get.

    But since im EM, a good disorient on the mob i'm wacking should give me enough time to hit the aid self again

    I've seen them in action, they really can do so many differnt powers Does that bruiser still have those 'i stand near a mob but dont attack' problems?

    Maybe i just roll one sometimes, i asume /FF or /dark is dah way to go?
  6. As stated in the title, I'm pretty tight on power selection so i thought instead of getting the 2 resist elements/energy (just rely on unyielding) to get the medicine pool (aid other/self).

    I'm not that focused on teamplay, so i might do a run-away-hit-aidself-and-go-back-in tactic pretty easy.

    So whats best to pick?

    Other choice is to drop 2 of the patron powers, but i want my pet
  7. Some armours take more eps then others. Specialy if you are a high toggle running (fire tanker) i would prefer going 2EndReds in the armors. Tough and acrobatics are high-end users, these need 2 end-reds for sure.

    Check Sharksilvers CoH-builder for the exact numbers of the shields, i do know Mudpots is a really end-eater.

    Mercs Vs thugs

    Each have their playstyle i gues.

    Mercs as said have a bit more control, they are all ranged (unlike brucer or what is he called) and the medic has stimulance to keep your pets mezz-free.

    I would pick merc over thugs anytime, mainly because i really dont like that pee-shooter sound of the first pets and your own gun sound.

    Now serious, depends on the team and your pets. Bots and Merc can heal themselfs, necro has leech. /Dark has aoe heal and /poison you can spam very fast.

    Blasters are...

    My tanker (inv/axe) and blaster (AR/ice) are same lvl now, both doing Sirens missions on rugged. As i thought my tanker could take alot dmg and swoop em down very fast, i always had problems with those psionic ladies and the Mu-end draining.

    Took out my blaster, BU-snipe takes 90-95% hp from that lady, burst and she's down. Beanbag on the Mu, chillbain and ignite to let the fire slowly finish him while i'm already finishing off a little spider

    Only thing my blaster is weak against are the bosses, since i dont have any stacking stun/hold power yet.

    If i get Maple installed on the other computer i am allowed to go for the Hamiraid with MaceX. So you basicly got a targeter. We'll sort out binds and tactics and stuff later ingame then
  16. I always though it was a AV. Its a full party heroic, so AV-EB wont be triggered anymore (below 5 its only EB on heroic). And i think the log off trick is pretty hard to do in this trial.
  17. 1 power that i just got on my nrg/ice.. frozen aura. I havent slotted this yet, the idea behind the power is pretty nice (tiny aoe sleep) great for solo. Animation is just awsome (footstomp with ice), though im not convinced this power will be used by _any_ /ice blaster. I wanted to use that power for first attack (CE doesnt break sleep) before popping Ice patch.

    MaX got the nice list of good powers, freezing touch is a very fast melee spam hold power with nearly the same damage as BFR. Going Elec or Fire epic you can replace the BFR for the epic hold, so you can range hold a boss.
    Or if you more 'debt-risking', take stealth. Run in the group, put CE on, hit Ice patch, FR/FT on the boss. BU/Aim, ice storm, blizzard. Basicly nothing can survive that

    Today i installed this new CMS (e107), wich seems pretty nice to work with. Now to get some forum working there and im happy (and a image hosting thing as plugin.. oh well too hot today to work hard )

  20. But as we are talking ice/nrg or fire/nrg.. does it really mather? seems more that /nrg is key for the final damaging chain in that line.
  21. I can say 99% sure ignite isnt a Auto-hit. Facing purple mobs i saw a 2-2-2 once in a while, but far from doing sortlike on a grey mob (some do state it has a extreme acc boost). Makes sence, since ignite accepts acc-enhancements, wich auto-hit powers dont. I went for acc/3dmg/1range/1recharge.

    So unless you can acces a hold/imm power (epic set), dont bother take this power, even in teaming.

    In de line of knockbacks, i try to avoid all those powers, since i work with icepatch, chillbain and CE And most teams really cant appriciate knockbacks.. specialy the Granite tankers

    Im stuck between my AR/kin and AR/sonic, undecided wich one i want to keep
  23. He has boostrange anyway, surely he doesnt need those range-enh I do prefer Snipe though, buildup and a 2 interupt-enh it does often a 1-shot kill.

    And even if it was pants, i would still keep it just for the echo'ing sound.
  24. The Elec epic hold power does nearly the same damage as Bitter Freeze ray, its only DoT instead of isntant dmg.

    Mind EMP recharge is serious long, in PvP its not _that_ usefull. I have it slotted atm with 3rech/3endmod (i use BU or Aim to get the acc), draining even lvl bosses instantly with powerboost running (note, it doesnt have a -recovery effect, but has a 10ish seconds -regen, what the actual %of -regen is.. dont kow). The disorient is 30 seconds base, with PB its 60seconds.
    Now i though i first read it was 1000 seconds, nofuture however state it as 800seconds.

    As for SJ, i would slot it with 2 jump/1 end. Makes a pretty big difference i noticed.

    Overal i asume you focus more on blapping?
