There was one little note that got put into one of the more recent patches that no one has discussed, and it disgusts me that the community would let it go unnoticed.
You removed ChickenTug Emote from MA!
I miss having all posable foes looking like they were desecrating a chicken for abhorrent reasons! That emote REALLY tied my arc together, and now it's gone.
So I'll make this sweet; Return my emote, and I'll allow you to publish your 'Going Rogue' without any 'unforeseen circumstances' happening to your precious... Stuff.
But seriously, what was up with that emote? Maybe the Banished Pantheon might've used it for rituals, but... What WAS it?! -
Wow. Except people have been fighting Giant Monsters long before they gave rewards worth even taking on one.
Wanna know what those rewards were? Badges. Something unique to the collectors. -
I'm kinda disappointed. It's like someone made brewha without all the fun things that make 'em brewha.

I understand, Bill, however absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence.[ QUOTE ]
"Whether they've come up with it and do internally now is anyone's guess. " I know.
[ QUOTE ]
Honestly? I think that the developers would need to do a lot of revamping the arcs, but on terms of space? I think that it would just mean adding in more objectives to counteract the switching going on.
For instance, mission one switches on a switch for an optional objective.
Mission two now needs two different outcomes; one for on, and one for off.
There may need to be some extra dialog present, as well, to work for it.
But you see, it's not like it's going to take up tons more... Just a bit restraining to those reaching the limits.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know, and it's that last sentence I was pointing out. I don't think it'd be an issue on any of my arcs, for instance - I'm rather cautious with custom mobs.
Heck, if it could lead to a separate *mission* depending on success or failure, I'd be even happier. >.> but that's a bit more out there on the wish list.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, consider this... If you could modify ALL of the objectives of a mission, and maybe even the mission title, isn't that a separate mission in a sense? How many would tell the difference?
I know, it's not THE SAME, but again, one step at a time. -
I'd be interested in this guy's work if I could get a link to his page. :P

i love to pug, i meet new people do new and strange thing but i have only ever kicked 1 person from a tf before. it was an itf and i was running it with MOSTLY sg mates the 2 pugs i got to join were good players. that is to say they were pulling there waight adn doing it well. but neither of them would follow intrustions at all. on the first mission they kept going off on there own way rather then go were the team was going. they could take the mobs so it did not bother me. on mission 2 i find out that neither of them have they chat windows up so they COULD/WOULD not lessen to anything anyone said to them. when i proceed to blow the crystals and they because they did not read the intrustions die i gat a bunch of tells from them going "if you do that again we will quit your tf"
on the last mission befor we take out romi i am asked my an sg mate if they could take 5 for a bio/smoke break, so i tell the team smoke them if you got them time for a bio break, be back in 5 ish min. the 2 pugs are already trying to clear around romi when they die and finaly read what is hapening they start calling everyone names. making as many homophobic names as they can type.
we take down romi 3 times then i kick them both, sent a pitition siting there behavour as the cause. 2 min later when they fig out what has happend they start sending me tells again saying that they are going to pitition me for kicking them and more homophobic names. i block them, they hop onto another account and start it again.second pitition
honistly i should have kicked them long before then but considering after that they never came back to the game, i feel kinda good about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those people were jerks, but you should've just kicked them before taking advantage of their service. I would kick them upon the second mission, and not think twice about it. -

I love the idea, but the devs that write content for the game don't have access to this function so I wouldn't hold my breath.
[/ QUOTE ]
And you know this... How? -
[ QUOTE ]
Do you know what is really "a REAL dick thing to do?" Continually going AFK during a TF, that's what. "Discontinuing" for 2/3 of the TF and periodically logging in to see how things are going? That qualifies too.
People who wish to avoid being booted off of TFs would do well to not do this stuff. Blueside it is extremely common, esp. the AFK "I'll just put me on follow, k?" thing. Infuriatingly common.
To be honest I wish more people applied a little negative reinforcement a la a well-timed kick. People can and do get away with everything, while the rest of us do all the work! FAIL
[/ QUOTE ]
Ya' know what serves just as good a purpose? Kicking them when it becomes a real issue. Going AFK for most of any TF isn't cool, but just for 3-4 minutes a time? Well, that's a bit harsh.
Kicking someone before the TF is over serves nothing more as griefing, and acting as something akin to retroactive punishment. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm in favor of this, and let's up it. Let's say you can have mission 4 be entirely different depending on whether or not Mission 3 was successful or not. I'd really like to be able to make a "branching" storyline.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct.
Granted, I DO see a lot of development issues with this. I feel that this would be something reserved for the highly-advanced stages of development. I'd like to keep it just as mission goals, and text at this point. -
Well, what would be the Hero counterpoint to these Accolades?
-
[ QUOTE ]
My rule of thumb is this.
I Run alot of MoSTFs, LGTF , ITFs i usally build my team around what will get the job done fastest and easiest. So ill build my teams with certain ATs and powersets. If i invited u cuz ur a arch/emp fender and i askd youon team to heal, dont sit around blasting, if i wanted a blaster id of invited 1. If i get a constant AFKer, i eamn 3-4 times for 5mins eash or they just put me on follow for 10mins, i let them continue TF. Than @ final mission befor completion like befor i kill LR, or Rom or even last ambush in gen room u get a big fat KICK
[/ QUOTE ]
So, if someone isn't playing the way you want them to, you'll lead them along, and kick them before they can get any rewards.
That's a REAL dick thing to do. That's far worse that someone going AFK, or just trying their best with some of their own powersets.
If I've got some good powersets, I'm going to use both of them. If that means I can't spend 100% of my time healing, then so be it, if it's helping the team more than it's hurting. -

I've been looking at the ever expanding badge list and the list of accolades that DO things, and I'm thinking... Wouldn't badges mean a lot more if more of them had effects? Not huge crazy like Born in Battle, but things more on par with the Day Job accolades. Here's just a few simple suggestions... (Suggestions are all redside because that's what I play more by a significant margin, but assume mirrors for each accolade avaliable to bluesiders)
-Favored by Arachnos (Mirror: Longbow Operative, similar badges for other groups)
--Requirements: Villain, Portal Hopper, Arachnos Rising, Wolf Spider Enforcer, and a pair of Exploration badges.
Benefit: Once per hour, you can summon a Wolf Spider Enforcer as an ally. It lasts for 4 minutes, or until it is killed.
-Hellion
--Requirements: Bonecrusher, Kill Skuls, Forged by Hellfire, Firebug
Beneifit: You gain 2.5% fire resistance. You unlock the Hellions logo as a costume piece on all characters.
Simply put: accolades that provide very minor bonuses would make badge hunting as a whole more rewarding. Nothing bigger than summoning a Minion, and no bonuses bigger than invention sets would grant.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Hellion logo is the LaVeyan Satanist Pentagram, if I remember them correctly. I think that it could do more harm than good to have it in the game for characters. :\ -
Kick when you feel it's the right choice. For me? I've got some standards, and rules that warrant a kick:
1. Playing in smaller groups.
--- If you're on a team, work with the team. Don't take a buddy or two and go do your own thing, and leave us hanging dry. I don't care what you think will get us done the fastest.
2. Being detrimental to the team.
--- If you over-aggro mobs around us, you fail to pull your own weight in any sense of the word. This isn't just playing your AT, it's playing in general.
3. Starting fights.
--- I've kicked people for just being a pain. Everything from accusing team members of being dead weight on the team, to one incident where someone accused someone else of sleeping with his girlfriend.
4. Being... Odd.
--- I've got a high tolerance for this, but if your RP experience includes a 10-minute speech about the enemy you've just defeated, and how you plan to preserve justice, then you're OUT... This also applies to people who have macros for every single power. -
Switches are a term I used when I'd fiddle with those old RPG-Maker programs, so please bear with me. I'm not about to say I know if they would be easy/difficult to code.
Switches were basically differentiations in plot that could revolutionize the Mission Architect system if used properly. I'm unable to explain them properly, but let me give you a bit of an example...
1.
- There is a mission with a boss, and an optional sub-boss.
- You defeat the boss required for the mission, and exit.
- The contact thanks you normally.
"Thank you for defeating Lord Sinister! Our race can now hope to survive in this cold, new world."
2.
- The same mission.
- You defeat the boss, and then defeat the sub-boss.
--- This sub-boss activates Switch 01.
- The contact is programmed to say, upon Switch 01 being activated, something extra.
"Thank you for defeating Lord Sinister! Our race can now hope to survive in this cold, new world.
And thank you for defeating his lieutenant, Commander Pain! Surely, it will double our chances of survival, knowing there's no immediate replacement!"
Now, this seems a bit difficult, I realize... How would it work? I'd like to think that it would work something like this:
[If. Switch01=ON] I'm saying this if Switch 01 is on![/Switch01]
[If. Switch02=ON] I'm saying this if Switch 02 is on![/Switch02]
[If. Switch01=OFF] I'll say this if Switch 01 is off![/Switch01]
Switches would be able to be assigned in the advanced goals for a mission. There would be a maximum of say... 20 per arc? They would carry over between missions, so... Let's say you saved the damsel in the first mission, so her father would be grateful in the next. The switch for the optional rescue is carried over, so when the father is spoken to, he'll acknowledge the daring rescue.
But wait! Imagine if you could have entirely separate goals for different switches? Have certain mission goals only available depending on the position of the switches.
Imagine one mission where you're saving your ally's sister. If you succeed, in the next mission, you'll have to escort your ally out. If you fail, he'll turn on you when you get to the door.
Switches are a relatively simple mechanic in theory. I won't claim to say they're simple to implement, but I think this would add SO much more potential depth. -

Well then Tank inherent works great in PvP.
Topic over good day.
[/ QUOTE ]
As for the Defender inherent? Can we agree that their inherent is meant for teams in ANY scenario as it stands? -
The entire Phalanx?
Dragonforce - Through the Fire and the Flames
I would think one of them would warrant Disturbed 'Indestructible'. Not sure which.
I'd give Synapse; Awake, by Godsmack.
And while it's not Phalanx, I'd give Inferno; Stone Sour - Fruitcake -

Does PvP taunt hold your target to you for a moment?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think so, or perhaps just switches the target. Either way, that's pretty useful in fast-paced PvP. -
Try using the energy shield, and setting the tone to black. It should react by making it almost transparent.

I'd like this. I'd like it a lot.
Just turn Broadcast into a local, or a team chat. Whichever works. -

Huh, it seems easy to just as easy to pick on new posters. All I found about dual pistols that is "confirmed" is that corruptors will be the first to get it. I didn't happen to see anything about blasters. Not to mention the fact that I mentioned about 5 other things in my post that no seems to be telling me were previously mentioned and if they were, they are so buried that it would take days to locate them.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you can't be bothered to look on the first five pages... Just a skim of the subject lines, then I can't be bothered to put forth the effort to be courteous with you.
[ QUOTE ]
I have a life and cannot spend that sort of time searching key words to see if any ideas I have already made it here.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not our problem. You're not some precious snowflake, whom forum rules don't apply to just because you think your life if more important than ours.
[ QUOTE ]
...and yes I am new poster. And it's negative responses that have kept me from the forums up until now. I was just sharing some ideas in a game I enjoy playing. And i figured that repeat request is what gets designers to think seriously about options for the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wanna know what repeat requests give designers? Headaches. But don't take my word for it! Look up Power Customization. Weather, Open-World, Wall-Walking, Wall-Crawling, and thensome.
As for 'negative responses' keeping you from posting? I doubt it. Had you been lurking on the forums, you'd have enough sense to know how frequent this idea comes up. Had you not even lurked before? You'd have no idea what negative responses would await you.
And so, in short; No. -

A good start might be removing the name 'Ares' from the name. I saw this on a Suggestions topic, and just thought "Isn't that the guy who had a lot to whine about?"
If you want to start clean, it's best to wait until this topic is modlocked, off the first few pages, and then change the name and lay low for a bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I appreciate your input. Ares is my name.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then good luck with a fresh start. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, what I'm looking to do isn't to get invited to teams, but rather to find a method to get people who are already on farms, off of them, and onto content that's more to their tastes.
[/ QUOTE ]
So... Let me get this straight here.
People are on farms, but you don't like that because you don't like farming, so you're looking for a way to invade their privacy by asking for a way to ask them if they want a team, even when they're on a team in the first place, and quite possibly content with just farming?
No. It's invasive, and it sounds damn vindictive against farmers. No. -
I love it when the new forum posters just hold up giant signs reading "I put no effort into searching."
Makes it easier to just say NO.
