    I'd say take shurikens, especially for the fact that so few people have them, and what's more cool than exploding shurikens?

    Energy Torrent is a (long range) Cone but decent damage and control nonetheless.

    Further, if you are SR, and plan to PvP, taking Focused Accuracy from the Body Mastery pool might be an idea. It gives +Perception. And from the tested numbers i've seen, Focused Accuracy + the SR +perception toggle (Focused Fighting/Senses?) should be able to see a stalker with hide + stealth from a decent range. Just an option you might want to consider for PvP
  2. yeh, they just need to cut the prices in 1/5th of what they are now (or thereabouts).... or, multiply the prestige we earn per mob by 5 (or thereabouts :P) so that, a good SG can have a raidable base up and running shortly, and it shouldnt take more than a year for a REALLY active SG to have a full base will all the tingles.

    As it stands now (US board numbers) in 5 years, you can gater around 95-105 mill prestige, and stay there, you cant overcome the interest (tax!!!) by this point. This is your prestige + the cost of you base. This leaves you VASTLY short of even the largest PLOT. somethings wrong here Cryptic/NCSoft!
  3. someone in the US beat you to showing that prestige is flawed.

    Calculating in rent, and what an SG CAN earn, the maximum value of all your belonging is soft-capped at 92 million i believe. so no one will ever be able to even afford the largest plot, as the rent gets larger than the amount of prestige an active SG can bring in, ill look up the thread for ya.

    edit: he goes from earning 200k per day as an active SG, believing his is the most earning on its server.

    All 'nova-type' powers (tier 9 blaster powers) are capped at the 16 AoE limit for them.

    Not just SR really, all DEF defenses were 'superior' to RES defence. This little fix (and how it should have ALWAYS worked, if one scales, so should the other) just balances it out a bit. sort of a big bugfix really.

    After all, they did boost scrapper MA (Mainly CAK) when they modified the set for stalkers.

    was just phylosofising (whatever, you get the idea, im not english, sue me!) about it. i have no idea how busy with healing you will be in a [censored] team. But i guess you are right then.

    The person saying rad sucks with knockback i dont agree with, having 2 rads puts 2 opponents out of the game. (well, mostly)
  10. for something totally unrelated, how about a worst pentad team?

    Scrapper: Claws/Invulnerability
    Blaster: Archery/Fire Manipulation
    Tank: Firey Aura/Battle Axe
    Controller: X(maybe all bar mind and ill)/Trick Arrow or maybe Empathy (too busy healing for controlling stuff?)
    Defender: Trick Arrow/Archery

    Altho this team could probably beat the above teams hands down if just played good (given that the opposition are 'regular' players :P)

    Aye, I was about to say that I was thinking of a similar team but with a sonic instead. After some thought, though, I can see where Imaginary is coming from. With Force Bubble, it's not neccesary to protect the squishies with other powers as they're protected already. Detention Field basically reduces their 5 man team to a 4 man team and Dispertion Bubble gives the whole team mez protection (to a degree).

    Sonics get most of those.
    Dispertion Bubble = Sonic Dispertion (just RES in stead of DEF)
    Detention Field = Sonic Cage
    And you get clarity for extra mez protection when needed. Also, -RES on foes (click power and a PBAoE ally toggle).

    I think the main difference why i would go with sonics is the abundance of (like i said) ToHit and Acc buffs.

    But i guess both could work very nicely.

    I think this is really the only way to use them effectively, I have tried other methods, launching them then attacking and sometimes they're still hanging around trying to look pretty.

    I just tend to think of them as another melee attack. I haven't had a chance to test the slotting on them as yet, damage definatly maybe acc and end reduction.

    Yeh, photon seekers should defo not be fired pre-attack, only in the middle of combat at point blank range. They have the IQ of a fried potato...

    Scrapper: Broadsword or Dark Melee / Super Reflexes or Regeneration
    Blaster: Ice Blast/Energy Manipulation
    Tank: Stone Armor/Energy Melee
    Controller: Illusion/Radiation Emission
    Defender: Kinetics/Psionic Blast

    Would work pretty sweet imho. Then again, i'm probably way off

  16. Quaterfield is reportedly the longest clocking in at 9-12 hours. Needless to say, we did it in 6 with a 7-man team .

    So they don't HAVE to be long (altho 6 hours IS a bit hefty).

    And it depends on which one you want to do, but i only need the 3rd.

    Erm, i tried this once, after ED came out with my freespec. and as soon as i got the chance, i took it out again. The effect at 50 is hardly noticable.

    for the record, i slotted my attacks 1acc 3dam 2tohitdbff. Also running CoF 2end 2acc 2tohitdbff, the difference between slotting my attacks or not was marginal, i could only see it with herostats running. CoF on the other hand is a great power (altho its DA, and not DM)

    Long story short, you are better off slotting for endrdx/rechrdx than tohitdbff in your DM attacks.

    See for my brute I always run CoD, and only turn CJ on when it gets bad, the +per, +def, Stealth all add up to make it one nice power. Would probably be the same if I was a scrapper

    oh yes, don't get me wrong, i loooove CoD, very good stealth power, +perc +stealth +def +immob protection and NO -SPD. but don't rely on it as your immob protection, as that part of it sucks (just like the +DEF)

    DA has no status protection (against holds, knockbacks etc) how are you managing? Have you gone, Jump kick->SJ->Acrobatics? Or another method? Cloak of Darkness does grant some resistance but its only a Mag1 (lowest) resistance, in PvP you'll need more. I have a regen main and I have been toggle dropped through Integration with ease. Not all the time, but when it happens its quick...

    No, DA has status protection agaist disorient, hold and sleep with Obsidian Shield.

    DAs status protection:
    Obsidian Shield: Hold, Disorient, Sleep, Fear
    Cloak of Darkness: Immobilize (and a crappy one at that.)

    So most DAs pick the leaping pool
    Combat Jumping: Immobilize (way better than CoD)
    Acrobatics: Knockback/Knockdown, Hold (stacks with OS)

    And obsidian shield also gives a nice 37.5% RES to psionic (base)

    nothing is. 1 on 1 is a rock/paper/scissors game. PvP cant be balanced 1 on 1 with the different ATs around. So it isnt

    a solo controller will get slaugthered by pretty much 2 players if they can work together. he can only lock down 1 of em (with luck and the opponent not having BFs)

    PvP 1 vs 1 is a rock/scissors/paper game, and can hardly be called fun. 8 vs 8 or even more is where the fun is at.

    As a solo controller you are quite squishy, on 1 vs 1, you win some and you loose some.

    1 vs 2+ is in 99% of the cases victory for the 2+ if they just work together.
