first off, loose the e-titude.
second, by making it origin locked, you leave out everyone who would maybe want to join you. i really don't see this type of idea being big at all. you won't have enough of the same origin running around in zone to do a raid. and no YOU can not gaurantee that there will be.
origins, origins, origins, origins, origins... now your turn. spell it 100 times in a row the correct way and if you spell it wrong you must start over agian. -
Quote:because it is natural to have something to back up what/why you are suggesting something. it is also a good idea to keep an open mind and not get so offended when someone doesn't like your idea. and before i forget, it's ORIGINS not origens.Sorry you dont like my idea. But to me its a great idea, and for all I know... Nothing would make you happy.
why do i have to justifey time for making this idea possible? Who are you? Are you a dev in disguise?
Thats right you arent.
Its obvious they are ALREADY working on END GAME stuff, this is just MY IDEA of something they could do to make ORIGENS more important.
thanks for reading it over and keeping such an open mind, hope you can find something in your life to make you happy besides shredding other peoples idea's.
honestly, this game isn't about what to do at 50. this game is about creating new toons. for that reason alone, you will not find a lot of people running around in a zone like you suggest. not to mention they would be origin locked. those are 2 of the many reasons why this is not such a good idea.
flesh it out some and try again. it is not a bad idea to have more lv 50 content, just a bad idea to have it origin specific. -
i could see adding the tf/sf's to it. maybe after the superleader does them they can appear in the computer.

Quote:i'll tell you what, go take this conversation to the market forums and see what they say about it. and unless you can convince the dev's that there is a huge problem and that the drop rates need to be changed the idea will go nowhere....Did the part of my post where I suggested rare recipes being sold for set amounts of inf not go through or something? I've seen multiple people suggest that there's no way for the inf to leave the system... If there is a store selling recipes, then the inf will leave the system when people pay for the recipes. The only things that would /possibly/ hit the cap in this method would be purples and PVP IOs, which I admit are real issues. PVP IOs especially are already over the 2 billion mark. I just don't think these issues would be insurmountable. Simple answers like "increase the drop rates" would fix it if they became truly prohibitive.
there is nothing wrong with the rewards the way they are and if there was they would have been looked at already. -
Quote:i'll double check before i order. if it does require a higher wattage then i can spring for a PS to. thanks again for the info and keep it coming. it's gonna be at least 2 weeks before i can do anything. The GTS 250 requires at least a 450W PSU. I don't remember what the 9800 requires. I'm a bit too lazy at the moment look it up. I would recommend upgrading the power supply before the video card as if you're not getting enough power, you run the risk of damaging not only the video card but your motherboard and CPU as well.

well capn, by adding infl/inf the way you would like to it would add a ton more infl/inf to the game thus causing prices to hit the 2 billion cap. this then leads to transactions being done off the market( in it's own little black market ) resulting in none of the infl/inf leaving the system. also as others have said, this will lead into people doing only one thing to earn all that infl/inf which means people aren't playing the other parts of the game. bad for the game.
the reasons why the rewards system is the way it is and should not be changed far outweighs any reason why they should be. -

Think WWF-style fighting. -
cool. that saves me about 60 on the ram. i have a 400 watt power supply. i think it is the minimum required. i will prob go to a 500 or 600 watt after i get the card.

so after 1.5 yrs of having to start the fan spinning with a can of spray air my nvidia geforce 8600gt has decided to die. i got the red, white and blue multi mixed up pixle screen then the monitor shut down. i knew it was bound to happen. with that said, how are the 9800 gt's and since it is ddr3, would i have to switch my ddr2 ram to match? thanks for any help you can give me.

Quote:you honestly have no idea what you are talking about. /unsigned.The point here is that it WOULD drain the inf economy... Because it would allow you to spend Inf directly on IO recipes and salvage. I think you missed the crux of the argument which is
-All those things which can only be bought with tickets or Merits? Let's let them be buyable with inf.
-People would be spending huge chunks of Infamy to buy random recipes or specific recipies. Inf would be dumped into the system and recipe supplies would increase, causing a drop in market prices.
As far as trivializing things that can be bought normally with inf... Market trading aside, please, name some. Because Inspirations, Trainings, Dual Origins, and Single Origins are all I can really think of and all of those are already amazingly trivial.
*can i get a facepalm please. i hate tryin to do them. -
Quote:what makes it not a good idea is the fact that he wants it tied to rep. something that you do not need to get nukes or shivans. i can't believe so many of you don't get it. rewards were already added to PvP to try to draw more people in but it DID NOT work. and before you go off saying that the PvE'ers are going after the PvP io's let me tell you from experience that the only way the PvE'ers go after them is through the market. NOT through PvP.This thread amazes me. The OP had a perfectly reasonable idea. The naysayers saw the initials PvP and just applied the NOWAY rubber stamp.
I see people go into PvP zones all the time to get badges and needed items such as Nukes and Shivan's. Are the naysayers saying that people aren't doing that? What is the difference between those activities and the OP's idea? -
did everyone forget that these were given out for a reason. i forget exactly but i think it had something to do with the transfer tool or character copy tool not working for a while.
-
maybe later down the road, but right now lets let them finish the origin boosters first.
-
that is why i suggested this:
after earning the gladiator badge for defeating so many npc's, we could get a 1 time use temp power, like the snow beast is, in which we get the use of the gladiator for 4 minuets and still have the gladiator selection for arena matches. only 1 gladiator can be summoned at a time by one person. -
Quote:that is true that most servers are dead for PvP, and it is an interesting idea, but having to PvP to get a better gladiator is what will turn people off to the idea. maybe change it to this:Heh, probably true, but people go into Bloody Bay to get shivans too. Too bad the zone is dead so no real PvP goes on on most servers anyhow.

i think something like that would suit more peoples tastes and would get more support. -
the problem is that if they don't want to PvP they won't. no matter what you dangle in front of them. i wasn't saying that it wasn't a good idea, i was saying that about 95% of the player base won't do it. you may get a bunch of hard core badgers doin it, but it won't be free of complaints that they have to PvP to get this.
-
problem is not everyone PvP's. and that is a huge part of the player base. so unfortunately i have to say no as we would be overwhelmed by the no's anyways.
-
i'm just gonna say no to this.
-
no. then the winter event would have no meaning and we already have the chance of either the zombie apoc or banner thingy when halloween salvage is turned in. and the badges in croatoa have nothing to do with halloween.

Quote:KB io's can be easily obtained from doing bronze recipe rolls in the 10-14 range. i get 2-3 a day in about 2 hrs of play. with that said...This problem suddenly got stuck in my craw once I realized how ridiculous it is.
Invulnerability: You have an Unyielding stance, your sheer strength allows you to shrug off knockback.
Ice Armor: Your slippery Wet Ice allows you to simply avoid knockback altogether, I guess?
Willpower: Your force of will, your undefeatable attitude as a normal human being, allows you to plant your feet and not be knocked back, no matter what.
Dark Armor/Fiery Aura: Gaining your powers from the Netherworld/fire, naturally you are incapable of resisting attempts to knock you off your feet???
There is literally no reason, concept or balance-wise, why Dark Armor and Fiery Aura should lack knockback protection. The knockback hole is nothing more than a holdover from the days of failed concepts like rooting status protection, unstackable armors, or, more on the money, Provoke being better than Tankers' built-in Taunt. Except being obligated to take Acrobatics (or spend a rather sizeable amount of Inf on the -KB IO) is far worse.
yes they could look at DA and FA and put the kb protection in obsidian shield and either temp protection or plasma shield. -
Quote:at this point and even before this point eryq, you have not even bothered with the discussion but just made snarky replies to people who have tried to help you understand DA. if you feel the need to take on +whatever/x8 then have at it. just don't come here expecting to get a change made to a set that you are using in a way that was not meant for a toon to be used with only SO's/common IO's or no team to back him up.Like i said, you DON'T KNOW ME. It IS boring for me from 1-30. I'd rather farm my 3 accounts ALL DAY than to run with PuGs and be on teams with people like some that post on here. Let me guess, you play on the FREEDUMB server? Figures..
I start from wherever i wish to with the mobs and the end result is the same, THEY DIE. Can you solo at +3 or 4x8 with your /DA toon?
GF from Canada? First off, i'm not prejudice and would date a female from anywhere if i weren't married. Try not to judge people, less you be judged.
And as far as INV. I have one at 34 and i have no problems with him. If you do, you should learn to slot it and play it better. If i did, i guess i could put a bill into him and make him as awesome as /DA or any other AT because i have the funds to do it.
oh, and i'm sure that rep doesn't have a problem with invuln. he more likely than not was trying to show you how you sound/what your acting like. -
as an arena option.... fine.
as an option added to PvE... no. it would not be used as much as you think. not to mention it really would only come in handy on 2 servers. -
Quote:because you can already get infl/inf to another server now by yourself. granted at a fee, but it can already be done so there is no need to keep free server transfers going.I was thinking that it would actually make gold farmers' job more difficult.
After all, why pay someone money to get a toon set up on another server when you could do it yourself as long as you had a high level toon of your own on at least one server?
I don't think the fee would stop them now as it doesn't cost THAT much. -
i gotta agree with you on that both counts Rep. but don't forget the 3rd count of when he does play his lv 22 toon he is playing at +1/x8 with no io sets. hell even with io sets at that lv any toon has problems i'm sure.
