absolutely possitively 100% /UNSIGNED!!!! just 1 reason off the top of my head... there would be absolutely no teams with this. there are about 100 others but this one is probably the best reason not to do this.

Quote:sure they can. there is a person standing in each AE that sells insps. she could sell the extinguisher temp power also. The issue is that you've no way to ensure that the players have ice powers of an extinguisher, and this could easily make many arcs unwinnable without one or the other.
i see no problem with this as long as there are no rewards tied to the fires at all. we do not need another round of AE nerfs due to exploits. and this, if they gave rewards, would be highly exploitable. -
Quote:first off, stop trying to say that people that play the market are the cause. they are not the cause. what is the cause is the "IWANTITNAO" crowd and the people that do NOT understand how the market works. it is not a store where you can walk in and buy whatever you want. it is a player run system in which people put things up for sale and the people who want those things bid for them. notice the word bid, not buy. if people would stop the "IWANTITNAO" mentality and put up reasonable bids and wait a couple days, they would then find that they didn't have to pay high prices and there would be a drop in pricing with the exception of the very very very very very very very few players who want to screw people over( also know as the less knowledgable about the market or ********* ).I love how you've assumed that I'm a lazy beatnik that is only complaining because I want to have all the shinies without doing anything for them.
I make inf hand over fist farming, yo. I've experimented with flipping, but it A) reminds me too much of work (personal desire to avoid in Happy Funtime Environment) and B) seems really unfair to all the other players that don't happen to work in marketing.
Dude, you're really out to 'WIN IT' though, ain't ya. Does not, cannot and will not occur to you that I'm not crying because I'm inf-poor, hmm?
And yeah, I think it's immensely craptacular and lame to bring a shotguns to airsoft games, which is what market manipulation to capitalize on inf-buyer-established prices kinda reminds me of.
But then, I'm also given towards thinking that investing in Coca Cola is unethical as well.
Personal bias ftw.
Unfortunately, maybe for me, I've seen exactly how much farming it takes to purple out several toons, and I know firsthand that there are two other options besides farming your brains out for months straight to do it.
Play City of Wallstreet, or buy inf. And frankly, if you're not playing City of Wallstreet in the purple/pvp market, you're not one of them that's sustaining an unethical/illegal market.
If you are, then you deserve every speck of ridicule, as you sir are trafficking in the gold market's profits, which -very clearly does- damage the availability of certain saleable forms of game content for the majority of those that do not --
A) Farm like machines
B) Flip
C) Buy inf.
You're never gonna see a purple without buying it off the market or getting one dropped on you (unless you have awesome friends. Most friends are not that awesome.)
PVP IO's? LAWL! The farm cartels for those are hilarious. I got to talk to a few people that farm those; all they do all day is beat eachother up in one FFA arena match after another after the next while yakking on Vent about whatever. They tell me that they think they get better drop rates if they change up toons after each match and that they average about two to four recipes in a 4-5 hour stint.
That's how we /should/ go about generating wealth?
We /should/ farm like machines or toe some thin lines on exploiting mechanics?
Really?
second thing, stop trying to talk for a majority of the player base. you do not represent them and i have yet to hear any of the "casual" players ***** about prices for things they do not care about when they are content with getting the things as drops from playing and don't care how fast they finish an io set. -
Quote:this would most likely never happen. blaters are powerful enough now without extra -res.
Also, I'm not sure I'd necessarily call it Sonic, but some Blaster secondary that stacked on more -Res would be useful -
thought i would poke my head in here again. for everyone saying that it is marketeers causing inflation, shut your mouths and go ask what some of the people who don't use the market for anything other then buying pay for stuff. they pay an "IWANTITNAO" price. this is usually 2 times the going rate which has now just assured that the price will rise. now move on to the next person who is just like the first. same thing happens. only now everyone is bidding at the new price they see. whamo, it only takes 1-2 people to drive prices up and those people are the "IWANTITNAO" people, i.e.: impatient people.
after reading all these type of threads over the last almost 2 yrs on the forums and 3 yrs in game, i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that it is the impatient people and the uneducated about the market people that cause the inflation. there is also the factor of adding things to the game that cause certain drops to be non exsistant, i.e.: the AE. the only way for a purple to drop in the AE is to do dev's choice and honorable mentions and guest author stuff. but the problem is, the AE isn't really being used for that. it is being used to run toons to 50 and generate infl/inf and tickets. tickets generate stuff, but they generate to much crap and not enough good stuff. with this mix and the number of 50's that have come to be since AE was introduced, you have alot of 50's running around that "need" to be io'd out. more demand for a smaller supply. guess what effect this has?
so let me say this again, all you people crying that it is marketeers causing inflation: SHUT THE **** UP and learn how to make the market work for you instead of you working against it. -
maybe this could be something along the lines of a chance of 1 of 2 types of secondary effects( i know it sounds bad when you read it ) like confuse/stun, disorient?

i don't think anyone actually knows what trips it. it's just one of those things. i think i've seen it 2 times in my 30 months of play.
-
that is what the windows key or windowed mode is for. we do not need anything else distracting us from the game itself.

Quote:^^this.Until such time as the developers enact this request, may I suggest heading over to vidiotmaps.com and downloading their map patch. It has the TF and SF contacts marked on the maps, doesn't actually modify game code, and has a bunch of other stuff included (GM spawn points, Rikti and Ghost ship paths, badge markers, etc).
-
not to mention that the cap is there for a reason. not because someone chose that number but because that is the limit of a 32 bit system. in fact the cap is just over 2.1b but i think it was hard coded at 2b to keep any issues from happening.

yep. it is an actual mission that you have to go into a door for. this is not like WoW where the missions are outside. there are some that happen outside which will specify, once the mission is selected and appears in red in your navigation window, how many foes to defeat.
if it says kill all, that is an instanced mission that happens by clicking on a door.
edit: i type to slow lol. -
keep going. it will end. it is probably the defeat all snakes in lab/base mission. oh, and silly question, did you actually go into the mission?

Quote:and that is where all the new 50's came from. that is what i was saying but forgot to mention the AE.come one Sharker that sounds kinda thin, way more 50's then a year ago when prices were what I would call stable. The game has been out for 5 years it is very unlikely that this many more 50s appeared in the last year then the first 4.
The real reason prices are like this is because of AE that's when everything started to go screwy with the market. -
look, steele, the market was put in as a mini game as well as a way for players to buy things from other players. it is not exploiting to play the market and make as much infl/inf as you can. what the inflation comes from is a whole lot more 50's runnin around with a whole lot of money.
-
NO. highly unbalanced and not gonna happen in this system. it is way to late in the game to do anything like this.
-
i myslef just bought a 9800gt but if i could have found a power supply that would have fit in my mini atx hp i would have gotten one of the 250 or 280 series.

worst case scenario is that your video card itself is shot and you may need a new one. -
turn off any virus protection you have when downloading the driver. sometimes they will mess with an install. if you feel uncomfortable doing this, save the file instead of just running it and scan it with a virus protection instead of turning it off. then install the driver.
-
update your video card drivers. and your sound card drivers if you can.
-
did you defrag it and disc clean it? also scan it for a virus or other malicious software.

this is not true of passwords but is true with loggin names. you can screw up your loggin name to a point and it will still log you into the game. i know because this happened to me about 2 weeks ago. i switched 2 letters around by mistake and it still let me in. if it is happening with the password, then do a complete cleaning and scan of your system and get rid of anything that may be affecting it and change your password after.

with the hissy fit that the OP has thrown in this thread i think it is safe to say that he is indeed in need of a break from the game. that or he has been done with the game and is just trying to spread nasty rumors on the forums for the new peeps to read.
