  1. I was thinking more of a team setting, not an AV soloer: Tank distracts AV, Dom locks him down, Win!

But Fossilizing an AV to death is an amusing thought.

    Deleters Remorse

I enjoy levelling characters, so no, I've never regretted deleting a character. If it does bother me that I no longer have the character, I reroll it (sometimes with the same powersets, sometimes different), and start over.

With Vet rewards, Inherent Stamina, and all the Booster Pack powers, it's easier than ever to level a character, with few "painful level ranges", if any.
  3. File -> Settings
    Advanced
Check "Allow multiple instances" (or something like that)

Right, I'd forgotten about mez resistance. Is that a standard AV ability, and if so, how much is the standard version? I know I've seen AVs held on a fairly regular basis, when the triangles are down.

    Quote:
also from my experience with volcanic gases on my earth/fire dom, domination does not affect the gases hold, which means no extra duration or mag mez.
Correct. Pets and pseudopets are unaffected by Domination. My calculations used the OP's mag 12, which they stated was the lowest value that occured when all the Gasses' holds stacked on a single target.
  5. This gave me an odd idea, so I pulled out Mids' and slapped together a quick Earth/Earth dom build. Since it wasn't a serious build, all I worried about was getting 95% Recharge and Hold Duration in Fossilize, Seismic Smash and Volcanic Gasses, enough global recharge for perma-dom, and a Spiritual Core Paragon.

All the numbers below use the non-Domination durations, since that's how long the max strength of the Holds lasts. In practise, you'd be seeing higher numbers.
Fossilize is mag 6 for over 30sec, with a <2 sec recharge.
Seismic Smash is mag 4 for almost 25 sec, with a <5 sec recharge.
Volcanic Gasses is perma; it can be resummoned a few seconds before it despawns.

An attack chain of Fossilize - Smash - Fossilize - (filler) with(filler) being Domination, Hasten or Volcanic Gasses as they come up, or whatever filler you want (Stone Prison with Grav. Anchor proc!) should be able to keep the max level of Hold on a target.
Using the mag 12 value for Gasses, and assuming Smash stacks 4 times (for mag 16) and Fossilize stacks 15 times (for mag 90!), that's a mag 118 Hold, plus spikes for Domination's extended duration, spikes in Gasses mag, and bonuses from procs.

What's the magnitude of an AV's Hold protection when they have PToD up? I know this is enough when the triangles point down, but would it hold an AV for as long as you could keep it up?
  6. You don't get inf, damage or debt badges in AE.

I'm fairly certain that when in an AE mission, you can ONLY get credit for AE badges.

That was what I was looking for - when Max End scales up, is that going to change. Since it's not, I'll keep slotting the way I have been.
  8. No.

The Titan used to spawn on the Mission leader once they were out of the mission and the mission was complete. So the leader would leave the mission, and the team would complete it, and the Titan would spawn under the globe in Atlas, or in the middle of a Hami Raid, or all sorts of other places, solely to grief people. So they changed it so his spawn points were limited. I'm pretty sure he just spawns at the mission door now.
  9. Roderick

    Ss/fa?

With good slotting in Consume, you only need to hit one enemy to top yourself up most of the time, and two or three to fill the bar from 0. Also remember that, since the revamp to FA, Consume now adds Recovery for each target hit.

If you slot it well, I'm sure Consume can negate all your Endurance issues.
  10. Hail of Bullets.

I'm not a huge fan of cones, nor of location based powers. Both are a pain for me to aim. I am, however, a fan of getting up in the enemy's face and making them dead. There's nothing quite like stealthing into a mob, opening with HoB, Power Thrusting one Boss away, using Bone Smasher and Energy Punch to drop a couple Lts, hitting the other boss with Total Focus, then drawing your guns and putting an Executioner's Shot in the face of the first Boss just as he gets back to you.
  11. Well, the chance to stun in Stamina won't work - it was changed to never affect players, both to stop people from stunning themself like you suggested, and to stop griefing via Speed Boost stunning.

If you want a self-defeating character, roll an Energy/Dark brute or Dark/Energy tank, get your recharge as high as possible, stand in the middle of a huge group with Oppressive Gloom running, and Energy Transfer everything that gets in front of you.

I can never remember if the pet damage cap is 300%, or +300%. Let's assume it's +300%.

Fulcrum shift will push the Corruptor to the pet damage cap, regardless of slotting or other bonuses.

Aim (+62.5%) + Build Up (+100%) + ED Capped slotting (+99%) + 28.5% damage buff from Defiance, Call to Justice, set bonuses, or anywhere else (Easy enough to do), will also push the Blaster to or past the Pet Damage cap.

If the enemy stays in the Blizzard for the full duration, both will do the exact same damage - unless the target drops below 50% hp, then Scourge will make the corruptor pull ahead, since that's extra ticks of damage, and not +damage over the cap.
  13. Arcana, since the Performance Shifter Proc gives +10% End, and not +10 points, how do +Max End bonuses affect it?

For example, assume I have Set bonuses, Accolades, and [Superior Conditioning] bringing me to exactly 120 Max End. Does the difference between the Proc and the SO scale evenly (that is, do both improve in effectiveness proportionately), or does one become more or less efficient than the other as Max End changes?

Geez, I retyped that a half dozen times trying to get what I was asking to come out right. Does that even make sense?
  14. Toggles all tick at set intervals. What the interval is varies, but it's usually 0.5s or 2.0s. For example, if you check Temp Invulnerability on Red Tomax, it has an "Active Period" of 0.5s, and gives 0.75s of +Resist. That means that the +Resist refreshes every 0.5 seconds, and lasts longer than that so that it overlaps. Every time it refreshes, you pay the its endurance cost. Since it ticks twice a second, the end cost per tick is half the end cost per second.

This is correct. My (vet) [Sands of Mu] and [Ghost Slaying Axe] do the same damage whether I have 0 Fury or 100, or even during a Rage crash.

Temp powers use a special damage scalar, so that they do the same base damage for all ATs, but they are affected by damage buffs and debuffs. [Hand Grenades] and [Plasmatic Taser] are amazing in the hands of a brute, and if I find myself lacking in AoE in the low levels, I make sure to always pick up a few of both.

All pool, Ancillary, and Patron attacks are buffed by Fury.

All attacks you make, except those from pets and damage auras, will build your Fury, even if they miss. Note that some attacks (I'm looking at you [Sands of Mu]/[Shadow maul]/[Flurry]) have such long animations that Fury degrades more during the animation that it goes up from the attack. Spamming these attacks with the intention of building Fury isn't a very good idea.
  16. DISCLAIMER: This build sucks. Do not take it seriously. It's just a 2-minute mock up to show that you can softcap all three positions on a Dark/Shield. Someone who took their time and did a good build could do MUCH better than this.

I do the same thing. I do worry about collapsing the value of the item, though, so I never do more than one stack of an item at a time, and I never do the same item twice in a row. If it's really profitable, I'll come back to it a week or so later, but I tend to just work whatever happens to catch my eye at the moment.

Boo. I was hoping that I could build up a buffer to help avoid dropping toggles during the crash. But I was expecting it to be a full drain.

Is it only a -Endurance crash? There's no -Recovery, so you start regaining End right after the crash, right?

    All my money!!!

There used to be a badge for earning (not just having) 2 billion Inf, but it has since been reduced to 500 million. While you don't get to keep any Inf earned over the cap, it does still count towards the cap.

If you want to continue earning Inf, go to the market, and place a bid that will never fill (level 51+ Inventions and level 1 Hamis seem to be the most popular). Alternatively, put in a bid for 10 of an expensive (300+ million) purple at 100 million each. You'll store a billion, and if any of those bids fill, you're guaranteed either a useful IO, or a profit!

Vet rewards are available at character creation, NOT awarded on login. For example, if you have the 15 month badge, you can create a character with Angel or Demon wings, you don't need to log in before you can use them.

Everything added on an account level functions this way: Vet Rewards, Booster Packs, etc.
  22. Seriously, do I really need FIVE IDENTICAL NOTIFICATIONS, each with a different name on it, that I have to click through one at a time every time I roll a new character? Heck, after the first time, I don't even need one, but combining them to a single message screen would be tolerable.
  23. When Unstoppable crashes, it applies a -100% Endurance crash. Is this Base End, or Max End?

In other words, if I have all the +End Accolades, a few +End set bonuses, and [Superior Conditioning], would it be possible to have a bit of End left after crashing?

I'd test it myself, but I don't have a high enough level Invuln character yet.
  24. I've got a project character I'm working on right now. I rolled him during DXP, leveled him to 10, and what he earned was his starting capital. He should be breaking a billion in the next day or two. I know that's slow, but I'm fairly new to the "pure marketeering" method too.

Like you, I flipped salvage for the first while (though I worked on common salvage since I had almost nothing to work with). Then I got my 45-50 Common Defense IO memorized, and crafted and sold Defense Commons until I had about 100 million. From there it was all buy recipes, craft, and resell. I crashed a couple niches before I finished with them, and lost money as a result, but that wasn't a common occurence. After all, I'm nearing a billion with less than 10,000 on my Inf Earned badge.

If I were using a character that wasn't a "pure marketeer" I would be using a few other tricks, like ticket farming to get free rare salvage, and boosting my profit margin even more. Dig through the posts and guides here to find all kinds of useful tricks.
  25. Not me. I was messing with Rubies.
