You could make a fourth by just using an unmodified lbutton. But that would probably be far more inconvenient than it would be worth.

I just logged into a character that's too new to have a freespec from the i20 grant, and the /respec command works for him. Looks like they were granted with the Vanguard Pack this morning.

Neither. All +Knockback effects were remover from Power Boost, Power Build Up, and the Accolades with similar effects. If there is still mention of KB in the descriptions of any of these powers, it is in error.

Sorry for getting snarky about it. In a couple of the global channels I hang out in, a few misinformed individuals have convinced a lot of people that you can use the shipments to get the temps for the badge you're not attempting, or even grab temps from both sides of the facility and use only one to get the opposite badge. Since one of the channels in question is a Badging channel, I've attempted to correct people who spread this, but it's an uphill battle.

It doesn't really matter which goes first, both occur during the same server tick, so they're calculated at the same time. If both fire together, neither overrides the other; they stack.
If you're really this worried about it, you have a limited number of options: Take Electric Fences and get an extra AoE attack to spam (which will negate the KB), Take Hover or Fly and shoot from above, so that anyone who is knocked back just gets slammed into the ground instead of scattering, or (especially if you like blapping) take Combat Jumping, and when it's time to use Electron Haze, jump straight up and hit EH at the top of the jump (for similar effect to hover blasting).
A final option would be to get over your hatred of KB, but I get the impression that that's the least likely to happen. -
I'm not aware of any Hold or Immob proc that goes into Targeted AoE powers. Even if there was, neither of those effects actually stop Knockback; the ones that do have a secondary effect that gives KB protection. And I don't think any Hold or Immob procs include that effect.
However, if you go to villainside and unlock patron pools, I think Mu Mastery has an AoE Immob that includes -KB. -
You don't need Hasten to play Super Strength. Three Recharge SOs will have Rage back up before the crash wears off. Three common level 50 Recharge IOs will have it back before it crashes. That's with no set bonuses. Getting extra recharge to bring up KO Blow and Foot Stomp more often is a good thing, but not mandatory in any sense.
I'm working on a Stone/WP right now, and I've played SS/WP in the past too. Both are very good. Fire and Claws are also good pairings for it. Honestly, Willpower works great with pretty much any brute primary. -
I was just running a few missions on my new Praetorian brute, and I was fighting some Resistance fighters. Something seemed odd, so I started watching them. That's when I noticed that most of the minions are AR/Energy blasters, and when they use their punches from their secondary, only their left hand glows, and they do one-handed punches while keeping their rifle out, and if you back away from them, they go back to shooting you without having to redraw their weapon.
I can only hope that this, like Cimerorans and Shields, is the devs using an NPC group to test something that might get carried over to players in the future. -
I haven't been on a League yet today, but I tend to see WAY more traffic in League than in Team.
-
Try adding a Cyclops from the Cimeroran Traitors faction, and naming it Cyclops. Or a Shredder from the Destroyers, and naming it Shredder. The AE copyright/profanity filter is EXTREMELY strict.

You can't join another SG while you're already in one.

Quote:Concentrated Strike does no bonus damage on a crit; the instant recharge of Build Up/Power Siphon is all that a CS crit does.Nitpick. CS recharges BU when it crits. Since it crits from hide, it will recharge BU as well.
Which means it's completely accurate to say that a CS from Hide instantly recharges BU. -

Quote:THREE times. Why do people keep saying two?Nothing different from what they're doing now, they'll just have to defeat Marauder 2 separate times without Pacification Grenades. That's all
As stated before: Once where you get all the acids and no grenades, and use nothing. Once where you get all the grenades and no acids, and use nothing. Once where you get all the temps, and use nothing. If you get any temp powers from the deliveries during the final fight, the badge attempt fails. That means that you cannot use ANY grenades or acids for three runs if you want the Master badge.
See here if you don't believe me.
Quote:Badges
There have been a few questions about the Well-Stocked, Antacid and Lambda Looter badges and how they are acquired. The hints for these particular badges don't go far enough in explaining the details. There’s additional confusion due to a bug where one of the badges is improperly awarding the other two. Both of these issues will be rectified soon, but until then here's a quick guide on how these badges are intended to work so you can be prepared when the bug is fixed:
* If your league is working on the Antacid or Well-Stocked badges, the objectives are:
o The league gathers all 10 of one type of power without acquiring any of the other. The league can enter the other area, but cannot actually destroy any of the power-granting targets there.
o After the Sabotage phase, the league does not use any of the gathered powers.
o Also, during the final battle, the league does not make use of the Shipments to acquire any powers.
o More succinctly: the league gathers all the powers in one area only within 5 minutes and then completes the event without using any of the gathered powers.
* If your league is working on the Lambda Looter Badge, the objectives are:
o The league gathers all powers during the Sabotage phase (all 10 Acids and all 10 Grenades).
o After the Sabotage phase, the league does not use any of the gathered powers.
o Also, during the final battle, the league does not make use of the Shipments to acquire any powers.
o More succinctly: the league gathers all the powers in one area within 15 minutes and then completes the event without using any of the gathered powers.
* If the league gathers one of both powers, the intention is that your league can only attempt the Lambda Looter badge. The Antacid and Well-Stocked badges are actually the harder pair of the three, since both have the same basic requirements of Lambda Looter, but also feature an additional time pressure of gathering 10 powers in one area within 5 minutes. -
Something I forgot to mention before - The character's name is NOT freed up until AFTER they are renamed. After you buy the token, they keep the original name until the token is used.

Both come from the rep, and you HAVE to do the cape first; she won't offer the aura mish until you've finished the cape.
Did you do a mission involving Hero 1 and Rikti, or a whole bunch of street hunts? The first is the cape, the other is the aura. -
All I can think of is that you did the Cape mission, but not the Aura one. Go talk to the City Rep and see if she still has a mission for you?

Quote:None of this matters. If Fort gives a 31.25% damage buff, then it's 31.25% of the blaster's BASE damage. If the blaster uses an unslotted attack that deals 100 damage, he gets 31.25 points of damage added. If he uses the same attack with 100% damage slotted, Build Up in effect, and 50% damage from sets and buffs, it now does 350 points of damage. Add Fort to the latter, and it still only adds 31.25 points of damage. And, its not quite base. At base, Defenders do about (.65 defender ranged damage scale vs 1.125 blaster ranged damage scale = .57 damage of a blaster at range, and .55 defender melee damage scale vs 1.00 blaster melee damage scale = .55 damage of a blaster) so on average, defenders do about 55% the damage of a blaster on a full team (so no benefit from vigilance.
Now, blasters also have a higher damage cap then defenders, so when you factor in buffs, blasters will do much higher then just 45%. Depending on slotting, and buffs on the team, i can see a defender doing less then 1/3 the damage of a blaster pretty easily.
Therefore, the defender's slotted, buffed up damage only has to equal 32% of the blaster's BASE damage in order to exceed the bonus that the blaster is getting. And by your numbers, a defender does 55% of the damage of a slotted, buffed blaster, so they would be doing far more than enough to make up the difference.
According to Red Tomax Fort lasts 120s and has a base recharge of 60s. Slotting to the ED cap for Recharge and adding 100% from other sources drops it to just over 20s. That's enough to keep it on 5 others permanently, or 6 others almost permanently. The cast time is 2.27s. That leaves 18s per cast cycle. Even if you fire Heal Other, Healing Aura, and Clear Mind once each in that cycle (7.4s total cast time), that leaves over 10 seconds to blast. The four attacks you listed take just under 6 seconds to fire all of. That leaves you 4 seconds per cycle for situational powers, and you've STILL personally done more damage than adding 16% (or less) to the blaster's damage output.
I'm not saying not to use the buffs. They are your primary purpose, after all. I'm just saying that you're either grossly overestimating the power of your buffs, or horribly underestimating the power of your attacks. I think it's the latter. -
And when the entire mission is "Defeat 2 ambushes of 50 destroyers", how exactly do you propose skipping the ambushes? The map is tiny, and you CAN'T run far enough for them to lose aggro.
-
Generally speaking, I don't care about debt either. But when I'm being force-fed debt, and denied ANY way to work it off, it starts to annoy me.
-
You mean the original name of the renamed character? It would become available for reuse by the first person who wanted it, just as if you had deleted the character.
-
Fixed. And they probably are, especially when you take into account that putting Fort on the blaster only preempts ONE attack.

Quote:Sorry, since you're the only person in the thread that's posted multiple times on the same side of the discussion as the OP, I seem to have mixed up some of your posts with theirs - which definitely DO exhibit the mannerisms I described.Thats what i do. I buff first, blast later. Never said to not use your attacks, just that buffs should take priority over them, as the buffs will contribute more then your blasts will.
If you actively buff and blast, then I have no issue with your play style. I just got you mixed up with someone I do have an issue with. Again, my apologies.
