Enhancement Diversification will NOT kick in on the second SO of the same type, and a third will have minor reduction (You'll get about 90% enhancement from three 33% SOs, IIRC). Even with level 50 single aspect IOs, I'm pretty sure you can slot 2 without any loss to ED (the third will be hit far harder than the third SO was though).
Edit: After review, I realize that I was mistaken with regards to IOs. Two single aspect IOs of level 30 or lower will be unaffected by ED. Up to level 40, the second will have minimal reduction. Level 45 and 50 will have much more noticeable reductions, but a third will still be needed to reach the maximum level of ED reductions.

http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancement_Diversification should have all the details you need, should you want an in-depth explanation.
  2. Hmmm.... It's been a while since I've gone through Praetoria, but I think Ghoul minions and Lts spam stuns, not knockdown, and I don't recall getting thrown around by Clockwork. Then again, against Clockwork, if there's more than one, you're probably dead before it gets a chance to mez you. And I think only the Syndicate with guns (and maybe the Martial Arts ones) have KD.

At least the KD can be stopped with a single IO. If you don't get a mez protect toggle at low level (if at all), the other status effects can be just as bad, if not worse.

In this case, that's actually bad advice. Heightened Senses provides defense to all damage types except Psi. The defense to S/L is lower than the other types, but is still there. It also gives +Perception, which is very important in PVP, which is apparently what he wants this for.

My personal advice: Don't chase Recovery bonuses alone. Get +Max Endurance as well. If you're recovering 1.0%/sec on your base endurance, that's 1 End/sec. If you've got the two +End accolades (+5 End each), that same recovery gets you 1.1 End/sec. Add 20% in set bonuses, and now it's 1.3 End/sec. On top of that, you have more Endurance to spend on attacks.

I can't give specific slotting advice for a tank, but for Scrappers and Brutes, getting Willpower over 4.0 End/Sec recovery isn't difficult. And if you're still running out of End at that point, you seriously need to slot endurance in your powers, both attacks and toggles.

As far as making sure that your attacks are slotted for damage goes, take a look at this, just as an example (I don't have Mids' at work, so I can't give exact numbers):

Open Mids'. Select any powersets you want. Choose a Single Target melee attack (Brawl, if you chose something without one). Put six slots in it. In the first four, slot Kinetic Combat (all but the proc). In the last two, slot the Triple and Quad from Mako's Bite. Make sure pop-ups are turned on, and mouseover the attack. Three of Accuracy, Damage, Recharge and Endurance will be red, meaning they've hit the highest effects of ED. The other attribute will be yellow. All together, you've got roughly the equivalent of 11 SOs slotted in one attack, and you get a couple nice bonuses too.

My DM/WP brute has 32-35% def to S/L/E/N/F/C. When I need to softcap, a small [Luck] does the trick. So does [Demonic].
  5. I still don't see what the problem is. You (as a Vigilante) are choosing to do Heroic acts by voluntarily tagging along with Heroes for their Alignment Missions. When you do Heroic acts, whether you do them on your own, or help others do them, you are earning Heroic Fame. You are not killing the mass-murderer to guarantee he can't do it any more, you're arresting him so that he can be rehabilitated. You ARE choosing to do Heroic acts. If you don't want to be "penalized" for doing Hero Tips, then don't do Hero Tips. Or, as you keep saying, do your Vigilante ones first. Or roll a pure Hero and team with your friend on that character when they're doing Tips. Or form your own team to do Vigilante Tips.

As to the opposition? Your suggestion would break the alignment system. Say I'm a Vigilante, and want to go back to Hero. Under the current system, I can do Hero Tips for 2 days and switch back. Under your system, I have to go all the way through Villain and Rogue then back to Hero, because my Vigilante doing Hero Tips is no longer earning Hero Fame, but rather earning Vigilante Fame (albeit at half the rate). And the problem still wouldn't be fixed, because if you had a Rogue character teamed with those Heroes, they'd still earn Hero fame - unless your intention is to make it so that ALL tips give you Fame for your current Alignment, unless they're your own tips. And that would screw over people who want to switch sides as a team, or who want to help their side-switching friends.

You mean well with your suggestion, I'm sure. But it would make things MORE difficult for more people than the current system does.

If you had made a thread asking for help with your build, or had requested a build for something that was obscure and rarely discussed, then the reaction would have most likely been far more positive. But when you just show up and say you want a build, without saying what you want it for (Protip: AE farming, Demon farming, Nemesis farming and regular content SS/Fire brutes are all vastly different beasts), and you're asking about a combination that is typically the topic of about half the active threads in this section at any given time, the response is usually going to be "What? Why didn't he just read the thread RIGHT THERE?"

    But you're welcome anyway...
  7. That used to be the case. It was a bug. It has since been fixed. In patch powers and damage-dealing toggles, Interface procs just like an IO - once every 10 seconds.

  9. Quick Reply to the OP:

Asking for Vigilante credit for running Hero tips is like asking for credit towards Task Force Commander by running Moonfire, Hess, Statesman, Mender Silos, Lady Grey, and Imperious Task Forces. Yes, they're all Task Forces, but they're not the RIGHT Task Forces.

Want credit for doing a certain task, do that task. Don't do something else, and ask for credit for the thing you didn't do.

  11. When considering what to pair WM with, you have to consider ALL of what's being proliferated. How can you possibly justify pairing the STRONG primary with anything other than the PRETTY secondary?

Huh. I have, of course, been to that page in my searches. Somehow, I never noticed the links to the specific pets. I thought it was weird that the wiki was missing that info.

    Thanks!
  13. I haven't crafted many Lore pets, so I've only seen a few of them in action where I've actually been able to watch what they're doing. However, it's obvious that the damage dealing pets do different types of damage (which is why everyone was told to bring Seers to Lambda before the change to Marauder). And since my Storm Elementals have hurricane, and my Seers and IDF don't, the buff/debuff pets obviously have different effects too.

However, I can't find what those effects or damage types are from the in-game power details (am I just missing it), and I've never seen them listed out of game. Is there a list anywhere of what these pets actually do?
  14. As far as negating the defense crash goes, three +3 recharge SOs in Rage are enough to have it recharged about 1 second after it crashes. The defense crash is negated as soon as you reactivate Rage, and the odds of noticing the -def for the few moments it's down is slim.

Even though they give a larger amount of enhancement, you'll see about the same effect from three level 50 recharge IOs as the +3 SOs, thanks to ED. Either way, simply slotting a few 5% recharge bonuses (Crushing Impact in your punches, Doctored Wounds in Fiery Embrace or Health), 6.25% (Entropic Chaos or Devastation in Hurl or an Epic Blast, Positron's Blast in an epic Targeted AoE, or a taunt set (sorry, I forget which) in almost any attack), 7.5% recharge bonuses (Luck of the Gambler +recharge in Combat Jumping, Weave, Maneuvers or the Stealth pool, Kinetic Crash in most of your Super Strenght powers, Gaze of the Basilisk in KO Blow), or 10% recharge bonuses (purple Stun, Hold, Melee, PBAoE, Ranged, Targeted AoE, Sleep and Immobilize can all be oprions, depending on your APP/PPP) will add enough global recharge to bring Rage back before it crashes.

Adding Hasten without any set bonuses will usually get Rage back in time to fire it before the crash, but on occasion, it won't, and adding it adds another Endurance crash. It's up to you if it's worth it.

The change to Energy Aura will have Rage back up before it crashes, as long as you spend most of your time in combat (and what brute doesn't?). Of course, if you're NOT in combat, the defense crash won't matter anyways.

As far as getting the double stack permanent, I'm of the "not worth it" school. You're eating twice the endurance crashes, and spending a significant amount of time unable to do any appreciable amount of damage. Reactive Interface can help offset the loss of DPS, as can procs (especially purple ones, which have a higher chance of triggering), but I still feel that the ratio of +damage to -damage isn't beneficial at double stacked. The sweet spot for me is manually hitting Rage when the icon starts blinking, so I can sneak in one or two double Raged Foot Stomps or KO Blows.
  15. Low level farming is never as efficient as a max level build. However, if you've read any of the threads about low level farming, you've probably got an idea how to do it fairly efficiently. If you haven't, find the threads by Neogumbercules (can't remember the title, sorry) and TopDoc (Cebr).

My low-level farmer is locked at level 10 and does fine when using the appropriate map. I can cap my tickets (per map) in about 5 minutes, and inventory cap them in 30-60 minutes, depending on how focused I stay (I get bored with farming easily).

If you're using a mission that levels with you, you're going to feel a slot crunch. If you go /Fire and pick a fire ambush farm, it will be easier, because it's trivial to cap your fire resists, and the enemies can be set to pure fire damage. You'll still want to use inspirations to softcap your defenses.

If you're using a level 1-3 farm, it doesn't really matter which defensive set you take, as long as you have Spin and a damage aura by level 6 or 8 (depending on map). I'll leave it to the existing threads on how to optimize your farming.

Lowbie farming will take some practise, and since it depends a lot on inspiration drops, taking someone else along makes things much more difficult, since you lose half or more of your inspiration drops.

As far as returns go - it depends. You're not going to see a significantly larger return than you will farming at 50. The main reason to level lock is to get things at the level you want when they may not be available often on the market. Mine is just there to get level 10 Knockback protection, and Steadfast, Kismet and Regenerative Tissue uniques at level 10 for my own characters.
  16. Or just open threads at random in this section. It should only take 2-3 tries at most to find one about SS/Fire brutes (on occasion, EVERY thread on the front page is), and if there's more than a half dozen responses in it, it'll usually have at least a build or two in it.
  17. I think it's silly that everyone so far is approaching the alignment system all wrong for this "problem".

If you know that you're going to be taking Villain Epics, or even think it's possible, you switch over to Rogue while you're leveling, then do 10 villain tips (switching to villain is not necessary at this point. As long as you don't do a Morality Mission, those 10 villain points will sit there forever). Once you're 40 or higher, do your villain morality mission and 5 Rogue tips, then do your Patron arc. Next day, do 5 more Rogue tips and your Rogue alignment mission, and head back to the blue side. Do Hero tips for the next 2 days while playing TFs, Scanner missions, or other peoples' missions.

Total time spent "stuck" with villain only content: 2 days.
Total time spent switching sides: 4 days, plus a few extra missions during the leveling process.
  18. We have dev confirmation that the Absolute Amazement proc still doesn't work: today's patch notes for the Beta server say that it's fixed. We probably won't see the fix on live until i21 though.
  19. The newest patch on Beta fixes this issue, making it so that progress on the Hero version counts towards the villain one, and vice versa. However, unlocking it via Trials is likely to be far faster than waiting for i21.

Everything you purchased got wiped out at the same time as they blanked all the character slots.

It sounds like you have one or more purchasable costume parts on your character. Go down the list until you find a costume part with a lock icon on it, then click the star icon on the righ to go to the store and purchase it.

There is no point stipend this time. Instead, the "Buy More Points" buttons have been activated. Use them to get enough points to purchase anything you need. If you can't use those buttone, click the "Account Management" button at the top of the store window, and make sure the option to use the Card on File for online purchases is checked.
  21. If you don't mind lining up cones, consider DM/WP/Leviathan. There's three good sized cones in that set. I personally took Spirit Shark (ST ranged), Arctic Breath, and Bile Spray. I hop around a lot to line things up, but that just increases my survivability more; things that are in melee range will usually run up to you to punch you more, rather than pulling out a gun to shoot you from a distance, meaning that they spend less time attacking.
  22. Interface works similarly, regardless of which effect you choose. Each effect has 2-4 tiers, and each tree has two effects. Each power has one or two effects, each of which functions like the above effects, except that they can stack up to four times each.

So in the case of Reactive, if there were three people, one with a 25% chance for debuff, one with the 50%, and one with the 75%, each would stack up to four times. However if all three of those people were using the 75% chance to debuff, then it would still max out at four.

Interface is a shining example of the adage "Through overspecialization, we breed in weakness".

Vault storage is now 400 points/$5 for 5 slots, still with a max of 6. I've updated the OP to reflect this. All other prices remain unchanged, making me think they may be happy with these price points. I certainly hope not - I'd like to see them lower.

  24. Yeah, I should have been more clear: With each of the effects, YOU do not debuff the target, you make the target debuff THEMSELF. And each debuff can only be applied once.
