Quote:The inspirations available via the market are non-tradeable.I must think differently when it comes to free things given to me. Even if it was an inspiration, and it would inspiration number 40,000, I'd still tip my hat off to Paragon marketing, claim said inspiration, head over to Atlas, check the info on some of the lower levels players, especially if it was a brand new player and drop it on him/her. There, a new player gets a double freebie.

Quote:If it were an inspiration, I probably wouldn't claim it, even if it were a bundle. I have a pile of dual and team inspirations in my inbox that I never claim, because I don't strategically use insps very often - I either ignore them for hours on end, or randomly consume them by the handful as quickly as they drop (usually when doing something that I know is more difficult than I should be attempting).I'm sorry but who is "we?" If next week is an insp..and the next week is another xp booster...and then and insp..etc.. I would continue to look every week and claim my freebie. So I am sorry to say I am not part of your "we." Heck it could be 100 inf and I would be happy...because it's FREE. I don't need something that is completely free and takes mere seconds to claim to be anything big...guess I was raised differently than some people; because a gift to me is a gift.
There may be other instances where I wouldn't claim the freebie because I'd never use it, but I'd never complain about what it was. So add me to the "not-we" list too. -

Quote:This is only possible for Tanks and Brutes, and even then usually only to one or two damage types. For example, Invulnerability can cap Smashing and Lethal, and Fire can cap Fire resist, but neither will cap Energy, Negative, Cold, Psi or Toxic. On the other hand, if you have any amount of defense to start with, you can often softcap either Melee/Ranged/AoE or S/L/E/N (sometimes F/C too).0% defense, 90% resist (remember, there's still that hidden 50% defense)
That said, softcapping just S/L blocks a LOT of attacks, and adding that to any resistance set will multiply your survivability a LOT. You may still see certain enemies rip through you by surprise though - For example Arachnos have a lot of critters that do Energy/Toxic damage through the Ranged/Energy vector. S/L defense won't block that, and only Stone (in Granite) and Electric will have significant resist to the attack. Likewise, several psi attacks are blocked by Psi defense only, and do pure Psi damage. Few armor sets can stand up to prolonged psionic attacks.
Back to my original comment: The resist caps are 85% for Kheldians and 75% for all others. Like Tanks and Brutes, most of these cannot cap more than a couple resistance types. Kheldians can cap everything with their respective T9 powers, and both can be made permanent (with a LOT of recharge).
The most durable of the non-melee ATs is possibly the Crab Spider branch of the Soldier of Arachnos AT. It can get 50% or higher resistance to all damage and softcap M/R/A fairly easily. It has no protection against debuffs though, so you have to be careful around some enemy groups.
Now that I'm done rambling: Willpower with softcapped S/L will be stronger than softcapped Energy Aura, because Willpower has WAY higher regen. In situations with strong -Regen debuffs, Energy will pull ahead because of its self-heal. Willpower with 32% S/L/F/C/E/N will be stronger, because a small purple is practically a godmode. Willpower also has a self rez if things go south, and with the recent change, it's actually worth using.
I also prefer Willpower's god mode. God modes that crash hard enough to drop your toggles really bug me. -
Quote:No. They aren't.Points and Tokens are awarded on the billing date of each month.
My account renewed on the 6th. On the 8th I sent in a petition because I hadn't gotten my points yet. On the 9th, I got a response linking me to a Knowledge Base article and telling me that I'd get my points on the 13th. When I responded with a link to Black Pebble's post saying that I should get my stipend on my billing date, I was told that I was reading it wrong, and it doesn't work the way I think he says. -
Quote:The Warrior farm isn't part of the story arc, and it still exists. It has been revamped, just like most of her other missions.Warrior farm is no longer available in the "real world" Maria Jenkins arc, "A Hero's Epic" (post-GR version). It's part of the fifth mission in the flashback version, "A Hero's Hero" (the pre-GR version). There's no way to keep that mission and also do other missions.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Maria_Je...en.27s_obelisk
It's part of a mission chain; first you have to do a Warrior mission in a cave (glowie objective), then speak to Tina, then you'll be given a mission that takes you to a large ruined city map full of Warriors. You have to defeat Battle Maiden and click a single glowie to complete the mission, so it's pretty easy to avoid accidentally completing.
I just picked the mission up on one of my characters a week or two ago.
There's an odd bug affecting many of Maria Jenkin's and Unai Kemen's missions right now, and possibly some other contacts as well. When you're given a mission that takes place in another dimension, you're often sent to one of the magic portals in Dark Astoria, rather than the Portal Corp portals they should be at. I currently have this mission, Unai Kemen's Council Empire farm (that's the one with 20 glowies, BTW), and Harvey Maylor's demon farm, all located in DA on two different characters.
EDIT: Just after posting this, I remembered that there's a different Warrior mission that uses the same map that exists in both Hero's Hero and Hero's Epic. The version in Hero's Epic has Statesman in it as an ally, so is often called the "Statesfarm" (on my server, at least). If you've already completed the story arc, you can only get the mission through Flashback.

I never use this one to farm, because I like to finish the arc for the Dimensional Warder AVs. I still haven't gotten in the hang of getting my AVs from trials yet. -
Gonna have to test a couple of these when I get home.
If that means what I think it does - ie, opens the contact window for the newspaper/police scanner - that will be my new favourite slash command. Or second favourite. /ah is pretty hard to dethrone.

Quote:Just curious what's the upper limit on the number of free accounts I can create?Quote:Originally Posted by Create an AccountPlease enter a valid account name. Your account name must be 5-12 letters and numbers and must start with a letter.
So, you can create (3,519,940,422,751,950,000 - x) free accounts, where x = the number of existing accounts, both active and inactive combined.
Off by a factor of approximately 35,000,000. But you were close. Ish. -
Quote:While technically correct, it's unlikely to be an issue. Autocomplete defaults to "on", so just typing "Ach" should be enough to get the right name. From what the OP said, it sounds like he was finding the listing, but no availability.First, the set is named Achilles' Heel; misplacing that apostrophe (as the thread title did) would prevent you from finding it on the market.
An additional way to get the proc is to use AE. If you have a bundle of tickets, or a character that can quickly accumulate them, rolling 10-15 Silver will probably turn one up fairly quickly. You could also roll 15-20, but 10-15 is a smaller pool, so you'll have a better chance of getting the recipe you want. As an additional bonus, you'll have a chance at the Regenerative Tissue and Kismet Uniques, which can usually earn you some decent cash. -

Quote:I cancel and resubscribe each month, since I sometimes let my account lapse for a day or two before resubscribing. This month (as usual), I didn't receive my points with my subscription. Due to this post, I sent in a ticket. I just received a reply directing me to this Knowledge Base article (which is older than your post), and told that I won't get my points until the 13th, and to resubmit a ticket if I don't get them then.I have an update regarding inconsistent dates for when your Paragon Point stipends are being awarded.
A fix was recently implemented so that for most VIP customers, Paragon Points should now be consistently awarded on your billing date. However, this fix may not apply in all cases, particularly if you were experiencing issues early on during the Freedom launch.
If you're still finding that the day you receive your stipend seems to be changing, please contact customer service, as they should now be able to permanently correct it for you.
So which is it? Do I get my points when I resubscribe, or do they still show up whenever the heck they feel like it? -
It doesn't matter what power is applying it, fear is broken by any damage. However, there's a timer on how often fear can be broken that functions much like procs in damage auras - it can only happen once every X number of seconds (as I said above, I can't remember the time period). It doesn't matter if you're hitting them once every 2 seconds, or an entire league is hitting them dozens of times a second, the breaks will happen equally often.

Not true, characters in old Galaxy City are moved to Echo: Galaxy City, and should be able to leave via the Ouroboros Portal in the zone. As an extra bonus, your level 2 character will be able to pick up the badge in Ouro and get his portal a few levels early. He won't be able to enter until 14, but he'll still have it.

Correct. And you can only use the Empowerment Station in your own base. When they changed storage items so that only SG members could look inside them (Because there was an exploit that let visitors to your base steal from the bins), it also blocked visitors from using any other base items except the crafting table, and possibly the vault.

Quote:When they redid the Hollows and added all the other enemy groups (instead of just Outcasts, troll, CoT and Igneous), they adjusted the mission doors, so that things don't get so spread out and random. It's not the RNG - the far-off doors aren't used by any of the Hollows contacts except Meg Mason any more.Hmm, I think it depends on RNG. I've had missions all the way in the SE corner from Julius, CoT missions in their little alcove thingy from Talshak, and Flux missions anywhere from the Gulch to 20 feet from the guy himself.
And add me to the list of people who still do and love the Hollows, Faultline, Striga and Croatoa missions. The generic missions from the old Issue 0 contacts, I could generally live without though. -
It's likely that it only opens the ports used for Web access, and blocks the ones that games would use. If that's the case, there's no way for you to play the game over that connection, unless you make friends in the school's IT department.

Quote:At some point in the future, each Friday, for 24 hours only, we'll be getting something for free from the market. You HAVE to log on and purchase the item (which will probably be limited to one per account), and if you don't, you miss out for the week. What is this "Freebie Fridays" you speak of?
I am now very curious.
I expect most of the items to be consumables, like Team Inspirations and XP boosters and stuff like that, but as Frietag said, there hasn't been an official announcement yet, so we don't know what to expect.
Also: FPARN? -
I think Freebie Fridays is scheduled to start with i23, though I'm not positive about that.

Quote:Unless he claimed them, and re-emailed them. Then, like others have said, they WILL expire. But your stuff will still be there for you when you get back.
If that's the case, and there's someone you trust, you can let them log into your account and remove them from the email into a character's tray for you. If there isn't, your best bet will be to contact support once you get back - I've heard of them restoring expired email items before, hopefully they'd be able to help in this case. In order to help THEM out as much as possible, please record the date and time (or as close as you can remember) to the time they are slated to expire. They have to verify the loss of the item before they can restore it, and they won't be able to if they have to dig through weeks or months worth of logs. -
