Good vs Evil: 30 seconds of superjump every 5 minutes and a port to Pocket D every half hour. Not game breaking.
Booster Pack I: Kill yourself to deal damage to up to 16 nearby enemies. It's not enough to kill a white minion at full HP (at 50), you can't be rezzed or used for fallout or vengance, and it's on a 1 hour timer. Not game breaking.
Mac Edition: Go straight to your mission, skipping travel time. Two hour recharge. Not game breaking.
Booster Pack II: Buff someone else. The buff is totally random, and could be useless to some players, one contains a debuff, You can't get a new buff from the same or a different caster until the current one wears off, even if it's useless to you, and you can't use it on yourself. Not game breaking.
Purchasable Enhancement Slots: I have 6 slots in every power, Each fully slotted to max efficiency, and granting 6-piece set bonuses. I could build blasters that nuke every 30 seconds and never feel the crash, Brutes that deal more damage than a blaster and outlive a tank, and tanks that look at pre-ED tanks and call them wimps. Not balanced in the least. -
FatherXmas is the eye of sanity in the storm of chaos that is the forums. He always has the answers, if one of the weirdos doesn't traumati.... I mean answer you first.

I find that the solution to teaming with meleers that don't like Knockback is far easier than hoversniping, or aiming for walls, or superjumping over the group and KBing while above or any of the other tactics people suggest.
When you look around the battlefield, you'll see the tank and scrappers happily flailing away in the middle of their herd. Twenty feet away, you'll see the squishies surrounded by the aggro they've peeled off.
Would you rather hear "@#*&! You made me waste my Footstomp!" or "Thanks! If he got off that next attack, I'd be dead!"
Help the people who ned help, on any powerset, on any AT, and the whole team appreciates it. -
The answer is obvious.
Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls. -

Strange, they call mezzes "binds" in the manual. That could get confusing for newbies.

You're aware that "mezzes" was never an official term in CoH, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not? -
Personally, I think that the perfect solution lies in Cimerora.
Have a merchant set up shop near Julia Pria. He'll work with ANYONEm because he has no concept of modern "heroes" and "villains" - these are just the guys working for Imperius.
He functions just like WW or the Black market, with the following exceptions:
1> He uses a third database, separate from WW or the BM. Like those two, it crosses all servers.
2> He talks to heroes and villains, giving both access to the same database.
3> He charges twice the fee of the regular markets.
This gives a cross-faction market, keeps the RPers happy, and provides an extra Inf-sink, and one that people will FLOCK to. It's win-win-win! -

Bah, I would of beat you, Father, if it wasn't for a stupid "Your Form Isn't Valid" error!

That error means that he'd already posted a reply, and your browser was trying to submit a post with the same ID number as the one he used.
He beat you fair and square. -
More specifically that the previous answers:
Knockback Mag 0.67 or less is Knockdown.
Knockback Mag 1.0 or greater is Knockback.
Nothing in the gme naturally does KB greater than 0.67 and less than 1.0, so creative slotting would be needed to find the exact cutoff. Generally, it's assumed to be 0.7 or 1.0 -
I doubt that double XP is dead. But I suspect that announcing them a year in advance probably caused them all kinds of scheduling conflicts when things got pushed back/moved forward, but DXP and other events were already set in stone on the calendars.
Expect them to be mystery events announced a week or two in advance, just like they used to be.
I liked the early announcements too. It's too bad that there's too many pitfalls involved in the early announcement. -
Put the Theft of Essence proc in your Dark Regneration. If you'reusing it against large enough groups, it will restore enough end to make DR "free" (ie, pay itself back) most of the time, and ith lucky rolls, you can sometimes end up ahead.

Victory - We also have a very strong badging community, arguably one of the largest on the "small servers".

I'm not even close to most of those, but my first toon to 50 (a blaster, before new defiance) had ALL the time mezzed badges before he hit 50.
-
Actually, I'm OK with that (seeming) contradiction. In the first quote, he doesn't say "guys playing girl toons", just "guys playing girls". I believe that he's stating that his issue is with RL guys pretending to be RL girls, not RL guys playing girl toons.

I don't think they're saying that mag 3 KB protect isn't worthwhile. I think they're saying that spending 3 slots on a power that you don't plan on using isn't worthwhile. And I agree.
Now, if you plan on using Kick, and want things to go flying across the room on the rare chance that the KB in the power triggers, go right ahead.
But I think there's better ways to use your slots. -

only uniques, aka purps, or any uniques available, from any pool, will have their particular effect remainin under the lvl u slotted them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not true. Several Uniques cease to function when under-level, and several non-Uniques continue to function when exemplared.
Purples always work, regardless of the levelyou exemplar to. Procs work as long as you have the power they are slotted in available. This includes procs with a chance to fire like damage procs and the performance shifter chance for +end proc, and procs which fire automatically when the power is used, like the stealth procs, and the Miracle, Regenerative Tissue and Numina procs.
Powers which give a continuous bonus have their effect listed in the Set Bonuses window, and cease functioning if you exemplar too low. The most notorious in this category are the Winter's Gift slow resist, the Steadfast Protection Res/+Def, and the Luck of the Gambler Defense/+Recharge. -
If you only one or two of the enemies in a faction to appear, you have to create a custom faction with only the ones you want.
-
1> Brawler himself confirmed that that is a myth, and has never been said by the dev team.
2> What the hell does throwing a handfull of money into the air have to do with pimps, or (to the poster above you) rap videos? -

wat villain casting class does HIGH AoE dmg, like i can take out like 3 guys at once? or dmg a large group of enemies when on a mission with my group...etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just wanted to comment on this.
A defender with no attacks but the default one and their mouse hand in a cast should be able to take out three even level minions.
Every AT should be able to take out a half dozen enemies solo by the time they reach 50.
Farming builds - typically scrappers, brutes, tanks, dominators or blasters, but potentially any AT - are known for mowing down groups of 10-20 minions and lieutenants in seconds, without breaking a sweat.
Other players focus on fighting Archvillains (think Elite Bosses from WoW), and while they tend to kill large groups a bit slower, they can take out enemies balanced for an 8-man team, while solo.
Groups of a size that would make a WoW player turn around and walk away to avoid repairs, make us scoff and drag the group to the next spawn point, so that there's actually a challenge. -
But.... It's a Critical (or Assassin Strike, or Stealth Strike, or Executioner Strike), not a Sneak Attack...
That's kinda like asking for Controller critical holds to say "Scourge" or Domination buffed attacks to say "Vital Strike". -
If they put power suppression around the statue, how will we get the badge on top of the statue?
-
The Electric Mastery epic pool is also good for blapping. Its shield gives Smash/Lethal and energy resist, and the godmode it recently had added is a lot of fun.
-
OK, look at it this way:
-You get three level 50 Cytos.
-You combine them into a level 50++.
-You put it on the Market.
-It becomes a level 50, losing its ++.
-You realize that you just deleted two Hami-Os. -
Combined enhancements can't be sold because they're a relatively small number of the enhancements out there, and allowing the market to accept them would triple the size of the market database. (Well, the enhancement portion, at least)
IIRC, We used to be able to sell them, but the market stripped them of their plusses when they were listed. People didn't like this, so I guess preventing people from listing them was the other option. -
Well, diff 3 would work, but 4 gives you more stuff to kill.
-
With the new 7' melee range, hovermelee toons DO get close enough off follow alone.
