If you have absolutely nothing and want a capable farmer (but not the best), make a Shield/SS tank. Low level will be a drag if you solo, but I got mine to 32 in about 2 weeks, just by running the Task Force Commander TFs. By this point you should be well slotted all around. At 38 you'll get Foot Stomp. With this, Rage, Against All Odds, and Shield Charge, you'll be able to put out very good damage. Add Combat Jumping, Tough and Weave, and some fairly cheap IOs, and you'll be softcapped to all positions with about 45% Smashing/Lethal Resist. By planning out my build in advance, and putting bids up on what I needed starting at level 1, and crafting and storing the IOs, I had the entire built for under 50 million - the expensive IO's (Numina, Miracle and Steadfast Protection uniques) were picked up with merits and tickets.
With this build, I wander untouched through Council, Freak and Battle Maiden maps, stopping in the middle of +2x8 groups for several minutes at a time, chatting with friends, and come back to the fight still at full health. It's not the best build ever - far from it - but it will get you started, and allow you to farm enough rares and purples to get new characters started, and even flesh out a more efficient farming build on this or another toon.
I'll post the build when I get home, if I still have it saved. The great thing about it is that it's mostly common and uncommon IOs. If I remember correctly, it has only 10 rares, and no purples! -
Well, my scrapper on Victory just hit 35, and I rolled all his merits. The following are the results. Things that are going on the market are going in recipe form. All recipes are level 35.
Miracle: +Recovery - Mine!
Obliteration: Acc/Dam/Rech/End - Listed for 50 mil, instant sale for 65 mil.
Decimation: Acc/Dam/Rech - Listed for 2 mil
Positron's Blast: Dam/Acc/End (x2) - Listed for 10 mil each
Trap of the Hunter: Acc/Immob/Rech (x2) - listed for 500k each
Scirocco's Dervish Proc - Listed for 2 mil
Lockdown Proc - Listed for 10 mil
There was some other junk with 0 bidding, 1+ for sale that got vendored to save slots. -

The best build for making money is apparently a level 1 scrapper with no XP.

Quote:Even City of Villains, which is by no means "New", is quite low on hunts. Our devs catch on very quickly to what is and isn't fun, and try to give us more of the "is fun" than the "isn't."You may not realise that most of the 'hunt' missions are very old content, from when the game was first released and expected to conform to an older definition of the MMO, which was basically bad design that players got used to for some reason. (see: Everquest)
Newer content and missions have very few to zero street hunts, and never quite as annoying as that. They really need to go back and revamp the older content, though. -
Note that one or two of the "Hunt 50 Carnies" missions are actually "Hunt 50 Carnies in Peregrine Island". In that case, the radio mission won't work, so your best bet is to give the contact the one-finger salute and drop the mish.

You have to go to your badges window, select "Veteran" from the dropdown, and claim the reward from the appropriate entry. The same is true for all character-specific Vet Rewards, like base items and bonus powers.
EDIT: Curses! Foiled again! Damn you, Necrotech! Damn you! -
Also note that you can load someone else's .costume file on your character (provided they are the same body type), and go down the list hitting "Reset" on face, and other parts you want to keep "you", rather than manually editing the file.

They should have sent you a message rght away to confirm the ticket, then replied within 1-2 days, even if it was just a "I can't fix this and am escalating it to the next tier."
However, once they send that message, their system assumes that the problem is fixed and automatically closes the ticket, unless you update the ticket (same ticket, not a new one!) within 3 days.
Also, go online or call the number on the card to see if the issue has to do with your card, rather than NCSoft. -
The point is, that the OP received the answer to their question, then posted again, seeming to not know the answer. So, to clear things up:
-When Rage crashes, you get a -20% defense(all) debuff for 10 seconds.
-Defense Debuff Resistance will not negate the -def.
-Recasting Rage before it crashes will prevent the defense portion of the crash.
-Recasting Rage during the crash will negate any remaining -def.
-The -damage and endurance drain portions of the crash can not be negated in any way.
-The crash is relevant to resist-based characters. Enemies have a base 50% chance to hit when you have no defense. During the Rage crash, they have a 70% chance to hit. -
The damage bonus from Fury is 2%/1% of the bar filled, or 200% at a full bar. Realistically, keeping the bar full is near impossible. 80% is easily maintained though, and with the right playstyle, 90-95% can be as well.

I'm not worried about the damage. I want the attacks to hit, to build fury faster. I just mentioned the stealth because I'd be likely to have it, and I was worried that I'd go from "You can't see me!" to "You can't attack" too quickly for them to build any fury for me.

-Faultline and Baphomet have never been seen in the same place at the same time. Not because they are the same person, but because Fusionette would KILL him if she ever found out about them.

I've been considering a Dark/Dark melee toon for a while now. I'm not interested in the Stalker version. I generally prefer Brutes over Scrappers or Tankers, but I'm concerned about the Mez auras and Fury.
If I'm running OG and/or Cloak of Fear and jump into a group, will I take an alpha strike, spiking my Fury bar, or will I mez the group first?
EDIT: Assume that I'll be running Cloak of Darkness and Combat Jumping with a Stealth IO, meaning that in most cases I won't be seen until the enemies are being hit by my auras. If I'm not stealthed, I'd expect to take the first few hits before I even reached melee range. -
I, personally, would recommend the OP get the Cyborg Pack if they buy the AE version, because if they select the Magic Booster, the code would be wasted on a Booster they already have (see earlier post from OP), and then they would get NO goodies from the AE version.

Interesting. I've never PLed the super-efficient ways; before SSK, I just grabbed a character from my GF's account to SK my lowbie while farming with a 50, and I never even did that often.
So I knew about the whole bridge/anchor thing as it originally worked, but I never knew that the double anchor method even existed. -
Quote:Elemental weapons are not weapon customization, they're power effects. No fire katana........?
;_;
I was just thinking of it as a seperate theme, sort of like you have scimitar or great sword right now.
BABs is talking about taking (for example) Fire Blast and adding wand animations, like the Circle of Thorns and Midnighter Club enemies use. Basically, if you can choose to have a power with or without a weapon, the weapon would be baked in to the animations, much like the old, pre-weapon customization weapon sets. Most likely, the only way to have multiple wands would be to have a separate set of animations for each wand. -
Did you submit a ticket through the website? My last vet reward was a week late, I submitted a ticket and had it fixed in 3 days.
EDIT: Go here to submit a support ticket. -
Add me to the list of people who approve.
And while the change is being made, add a level to the chat message for all recipe and enhancement drops, and wrap all drop names in square brackets to make them clickable links, just like if we typed them ourselves. -
Quote:When enough people need it, my Coalition sets up Doctor Q with one person dual-boxing, and the dual-boxed leader sitting at the contact so that we can go straight from one mission to the next. 3 hours to complete is pretty much normal.I'm just picturing how popular Posi and Doc Q would be on such a weekend.
If the OP can't see anything broken about 6 people each getting 222 merits, and a seventh getting 444 in 3 hours, then I really don't know what else to say. -
What I'd like to see is someone go through all the blasts, controls and buffs/debuffs, and sort them into groups with the same animation lengths. Then, after removing any that have a very non-generic animation, make all the animations on each of these lists available to any power with the same casting time.
Especially with the normalization of blaster attacks a while ago, there should be a lot of options available, without any new animation work (except maybe a few tweaks and fixes). And with the the framework already in place, it should mostly be database work, and a bit of coding - the perfect task for the new guys to cut their teeth on! -
Quote:I leave myself unhidden and my email turned on specifically so that I get that pile of spammer email.Wait, people still get email?
Can't say I've had that problem since I turned it off to anyone not on my list.
And every time I hit the button and see a character name and/or global that looks like someone paying for PLing and being used to send mail, it makes my day that much better.
To the OP, add me to the /signed list, provided you follow Bill's caveat. -
Sorry, I meant special IOs that exactly mimic other bonuses, such as the LotG +recharge and the Sting of the Manticore/Kinetic Crash recharge set bonus giving the same value.
