No I'm not exaggerating. I cannot click on the moving items quickly enough to select one to monitor, nor can my eyes focus on the moving text. Therefore, using the Combat Attributes window is impossible for me on any character with more than a couple set bonuses.
-
As I stated in a previous post, temp powers are now in their own pool (or maybe a shared pool with costume recipes), and now can drop from the same enemy that drops a set or common IO.
-
There's a LOT of people bidding 2 bil on those, last I heard. List it for any amount, and you should walk away with 1.8 billion on the spot.
Just in case the trend has changed, I'd list it for 2 bil, just in case the high bid isn't up that high at the moment. -
I disagree. I love getting the temp powers as drops, and use them very frequently.
Perhaps it's time to bug the devs to create a /recipe_delete command, so you can create a macro to quickly clear the unwanted recipes. That seems a better solution to me. -
Quote:The bonuses aren't disappearing.
<snip>
Note that your actual total recovery never changes while this is happening.Quote:When I could clearly see them, the totals were staying constant, but the breakdown below them were fluctuating. Quote:some lines of text describing bonuses are appearing and disappearing rapidly
Quote:It's not a major bug since the final totals aren't affected, but it is confusing to look at if you're not sure what's happening. -
I don't often open my main Combat Attributes window, so I don't know how long this bug has existed, but I opened the window today, and the list went nuts, getting longer and shorter, seemingly at random. When I could clearly see them, the totals were staying constant, but the breakdown below them were fluctuating. After a while, the list "settled down", and remained the same length, but was still longer than it should have been. The bonuses were not stacked, or in some cases, were only partially stacked.
This is purely a guess, but I think that when I opened the window, it listed all the bonuses individually and unstacked. It them tried to stack them as they should have been, and unstacked them, and repeated this, until it ended with all the 5% recharge from Crushing Impact in one stack, the 5% recharge from Efficacy Adapter in another, and so on. Regardless, the lists are longer than they should be, and are impossible to read until they stop changing. -
Quote:Not true.Remember most attacks in the game at least have a smashing or lethal component and if they do the S/L defense will be applied meaning very low chance to be hit.
An attack's damage type(s) has absolutely no bearing on which defense type(s) are used against it.
For example, let's look at Dual Pistols. Most of the attacks use the Lethal and either Ranged or AoE vectors. If you use Cryo Rounds, the attacks will do Lethal and Cold damage, but the typed defense will still be Lethal only. Most attacks only have one positional and one typed vector. Some (psi especially) lack one of these vectors.
Perhaps the previous example wasn't the best though, since I used an attack that is alwaysLethal typed, and therefore seems to support your claim. Instead, look at Fire Blast. Most of the attacks do pure fire damage, and are typed Ranged/Fire or AoE/Fire. Fire Ball and Inferno both deal a mix of Fire and Smashing damage, and are typed AoE/Fire - Smashing/Lethal defense does nothing against those attacks, even though they have a Smashing component. -
Quote:Your chances of getting regular inventions are not being affected by this change, as long as you make sure to keep som space open for them. I have been watching my drops closely since i17, and have seen MANY temp power recipes drop from enemies at the same time as a common or set recipe; they have been moved into a separate pool, just like costume parts were. I haven't yet received a temp and a costume off the same enemy, so I can't say if they've been put into a shared pool, or two separate ones.I am getting way too many temps, and somehow I am beginning to believe my chances of geeting an invention are now greatly reduced, and that i sreally bad.
What really surprised me was getting a set IO and a common IO recipe off the same enemy. These now seem to be separate pools as well! -

Quote:I think that may already be in the works, although using Praetoria rather than Ouroboros.*edit*
Speaking of change, why not abuse the level-centric timeline and do comebacks for old, defeated villains? For instance, Doc Vahzilok gets defeated 15-20, but why not have him make a comeback in the 40-50 range, using a new contingent of much more powerful, much less shambling zombies? You could easily borrow from games like Resident Evil and Parasite Eve to gather a good collection fast, hostile, deadly monsters for him to have stitched together and produced. Maybe even give him some cybernetics, too. No longer trying to just cure death, but also to improve on the human species, it'd be a cool storyline to have.
This is pure speculation, but I've talked to a few people who agree with me - Look at the new "undead" faction. They're obviously tech zombies, just like Doc Vahz's work. Just, with some of Praetoria's tech being more advanced than ours, they may be better, faster, and stronger than our Embalmed and Cadavers. -
Super Reflexes
-More defense. With Tough (with a Steadfast +def IO), combat jumping and Weave, and every +def power you have 3-slotted for def, you're softcapped.
-95% Defense Debuff Resistance. You must slot everything that gives DDR to the ED threshold to see 95% on a stalker.
-Quickness
Ninjitsu
-Slightly less defense. More set bonuses are needed to softcap, or doing something silly like taking CJ, Stealth, Weave and Maneuvers.
-Fewer toggles. This saves on endurance, especially if you plan on scrapping.
-Unenhancable Defense Debuff Resistance. Like all defense sets other that SR and Shield, You're stuck with the base value. It's been a while since I played Ninjitsu, so I can't remember how much you get, but it's not as much as SR.
-Toys. It depends on your play style how valuable Caltrops and Smoke Bomb are.
-No knockback prtection! I have no idea why, but be ready to go get yourself a Knockback protection IO.
The godmode is identical, or at least nearly so, between the two, so it's not really a deciding factor.
Personally, I prefer Super Reflexes. Being able to softcap off just one IO frees up my set bonuses for Recovery and Recharge. -

All that was said is that they're going to try to get it out before Going Rogue. Which means probably within the next month and a half, but nothing is confirmed yet.
-
Ick. I assume it instantly sold? Did you at least get a reasonable amount for it, and not a lowball bid?

This is the SS/SR brute that I'm working towards. Five of the attacks (Punch, Boxing, Foot Stomp, Gloom, Dark Obliteration) have a purple set in their alternate slotting. The non-purple build is what he'll look like at 50, the purpled build is what he'll eventually look like when I have billions worth of purples.

Many are affected by global recharge. The ones that come from the booster packs (Self Destruction, Mission Transporter, etc) do not.
Unfortunately, there's no hard rule as to which are and which aren't. And the only way I know of to tell them apart is through observation. I can tell you for sure that the 25 minute click accolades all benefit from recharge. Eye of the Magus and Geas of the Kind Ones are much more useful when they're sped up. -
It's Arbiter Kim's job to collect bug reports and forward them to the appropriate pople/departments.

I saw him yesterday in what sounds like the same place you're describing. He was standing in the middle of an intersection, and when I stopped to look at him, his entourage ran up to him from behind me, then realized they had passed through a taunt aura and came back, bringing the Paladin with them.
I think they may have changed him so that he doesn't gather in threes in the park any more. It would be nice if they just made him wander the city though. Makes more sense than wandering somewhere and then stopping. -
Quote:This has hit me every time I've done an install of CoH on a fresh system. Disable your firewall and/or virus scanner and try to log in again. If you can log in, then you just need to tell one or both of these programs to let City of Heroes through. This usually involves opening a "Permissions" setting, browsing to the cityofheroes.exe file (not cohupdater.exe) and setting it to "Allow".Fourth, could you be running a firewall product that needs to be informed that it's OK for cityofheroes.exe to talk to the internet.
Hope that helps! -
I'll take the LotG off your hands, if it's level 35 or lower.

Quote:Your forum registry date is from before the addition of the Roman Armor set and the Valkyrie Armor set, as well as an entire powerset for shields.Ever since I have been playing I can not remeber a time when we ever got new medieval armor sets.
There's also the Samurai (vet reward) and Warrior and Terra (both from the Martial Arts booster), which, while not technically medieval, have several pieces that can be used to add customization to the existing parts.
If they wanted to add new medieval style pieces, I won't complain at all. My main, after all, is Broadsword/Shield, and would love a chainmail shirt. But there are many options already in the game. -
Make it so that there's two buttons instead of just one. One is for memorized recipes, the other for carried recipes. I don't want to accidentally vendor salvage used by the recipes that I'm keeping, but if I cared about the salvage for memorized recipes, I would have crafted them before I got to the vendor. I'm sure other peoples' priorities are different from mine, but splitting these into two separate options would help several people, and adversely affect none.

Quote:I've had this happen to me too. Most of the time, it happens when I switch to a different screen while zoning, but not always. What happens is that the game (not your computer, just CoH. Everything else works fine) decides that a key is currently in the "down" position. For me, it's usually Ctrl, Alt, R, or my Left or Right Mouse button. The Left Mouse Button is the worst, because it makes m autorun when I right-click to turn, and clicks everything you mouseover, like the guard at the door to the Hazard Zone you just entered/exited, sending you back to the zone you just came from.I might do that more if it didn't seem every time, to every other time, that I zone, the game decides I actually want to activate the alt tray powers. (This has been across OSes, keyboards, accounts and computers.) Nothing like being a tank, running into the first group, and turning off your shields at them. (This used to happen "every once in a while." For me, now, it's almost constant. Yes, /bugged. I've had friends commenting on it happening too.)
The fix is to just press and release the key that the game thinks is "down". Unfortunately, this just clears the error, it doesn't prevent it from recurring.
