Before the MoG change, IH WAS my tier 9. MoG was that 2nd skipped power. IH + DP and you can charge in and take on just about any and everything. As a scrapper, I would find it hard and somewhat nuts to skip any power that allowed you to do that.
-
When shadow meld was announced, the first thought in my mind was "Choppa (my claw/DA stalker) lives!" This power helps out a lot. I mostly use it for "oh crap!" Shadow meld + dark regen then shock wave. Made Cim wall farming a lot less painfull (It still hurts though).

Quote:That would be cool for some sets that have powers that take def and res sets.We don't know if it's intentional, but, from the actions the devs haven't taken thus far (I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that fixing it would only involve adding a "unaffected by enhancements or resistances" would solve the issue if there was one), I'm pretty sure it's working as intended. The only IOs I know of that benefit from this are the +recov and +regen IOs though I'd be interested in seeing if the +res and +def IOs work in the same manner....
-
Quote:Not really. Never said I would not take SL, MG, or SD. Concept can only go so far. Unless you make toggle man. Then you are pretty much stuck. That may be the fastest looking character, but most likely will result in the slowest Scrapper alive at killing things
If I really did make that Neji concept, I would only take one or the other to hit toggles. It may see everything, be real fast and still do dmg but could you imagine the end drain? -
Quote:This is my laugh of the day. Lol@Loaded/Clueless powerset comboAh yes, the infamous Loaded/Clueless powerset combo, I have seen many.
Like the regen I teamed with a while back who had a laundry list of set bonuses, and was routinely outlived by my defender. (Granted my defender was a Rad/Sonic with hover and softcapped ranged defense, but that's not the point)
After being astonished at his lack of survival and huge list of set bonuses I looked a little closer at his build.
Are you ready for what I saw there?
He didn't have Dull Pain. Or Instant Healing. And he DID have Aid Self. (?!)
His reason for not having DP or IH was "They take too long to recharge"
As far as how he could have been that clueless and have that many Ultimate set bonuses, my only guess is RMT customer.
I've seen others, but that one stuck in my mind more than most. -
Now why is everyone hatin' on slice? Lol. Seriously, I keep thinking of that horrid Posi TF I ran with Riez to finish up TF commander. I didn't have any attacks but hack, slice, and brawl. I didn't even have sands of mu yet. And accolades or mez protection!
I keep forgetting about the exemp changes when I build. I need to stop that.
Anyway, that build is pretty nice and in price range. Looks like 2nd build it is. Ill just gradually pull stuff from the first build when the 2nd one is finished. (Still too lazy to flat out strip it) -
Quote:The current build has sic 5 slotted in all three of the aoes. I could move one slot to manuvers to a def/end IO. And after thinking about it, the +rech proc in disem. may not help as much as I had first thought.Igor got some good points there.
I do like the HS slotting. That's how I have mine slotted on my BS/Inv and Kat/WP but that might not be the best way to go on a Regen. Might go with 5 Scirocco in it, maybe find a ways to slot 6 Numina's in Integration, put Mako's in Disembowel and maybe some slot on Maneuvers. Endurance looks like might be an issue even with FA turned off, so might need to work on that.
Its strange that I have never thought of six slotting numina. Ever.
How would one more end mod on QR? Its just that 5 slotting disem seems.... Wrong. Maybe I can pull the heal from IH.
Looks like ill either have to start all over via build two or use more then one respec. -
The lack of obliterations was due to:
1 I'm at the 5% cap
2 two parrys soft cap me
3 the endurance
The slotting for head splitter was mostly for the total values over the non needed HP bonus. I did want the range def in eradication, though.
The two aoes are handy and allowed for aoe def.
I actually had fitness and no hasten or manuvers or PP in the oringinal build. I just wanted to see how it would look. I also had conserve power.
I could drop manuvers and pick back up for those long fights I seem to always get into.
I hear you on hurdle though. I wanted to pump more def and +rech in.
Ill give it another look when I get home. -
This thread topic remids me of an idea I had for a build based on Neji Huuga from Naruto. I was thinking DM/SR with flurry, shadow maul, and sands of mu with enough recharge in the build could make seemless puches. I also was going to throw in whirlwind and both tactics and foc acc. Not to mention the kismet acc IO and the perception IO. With the new bonus pack out, I just might try it out.
-
Wow. No opinions or improvement suggestions on this build at all?

Quote:Boxing over jab? Really? Jab activates fast.Knockout Blow (+227%) -> Haymaker (+189%) -> Fire Blast (+98%) -> Boxing (+0%) -> Haymaker -> Fire Blast was the best I could work out when I looked at this a lot more closely several months ago. Probably something better than Boxing for the gap, but on a real build, where you need to take Boxing anyway to get into Tough and Weave, and where power picks are in short supply, it seemed the best choice in practice. Obviously you're going to want Rage as stacked as possible.

This is my BS/Regen scrapper that hasnt had a build upgrade since the first wave of new IO sets. I put this new build together based on only needing to use one respec to pull and switch IOs. (I know. Im being lazy) I figured out a build that might work out with what I already had slotted with a few new IOs and PP.
Riez will be used for exemping every now and then, for TFs, and End Game PVE content. Solo and an ocasional teaming. Maybe a few stress test like RWZ challenge or Pylons for kicks. The limits are no Purples or PVP IOs. Anything else can be gotten with ease.

Make it an epic so I can get my Dead Pool and Matrix on! That is all...

Quote:Lol! Classic! Reminds of the ol days:Glad you guys like the name
I thought it was appropriate for an /SR and since I only made her like a year ago, I'm very surprised the name wasn't taken.
And yes, her battlecry is "Up. Up. Down. Down. Left. Right. Left. Right. B. A. B. A. Start." and no, I didn't forget Select between the last A and Start. I never coop played Contra because people always stole the scattergun.
30 men on contra
100 men, fire power when little, making the princes/mushroom retainer talk to herself, and jumping over the flag pole in super mario bros.
Defeating the bosses with one bomb in Blaster Master.
Ahh good times. -
Ok. I've been fighting off the urge to roll scrapper number 10 but I decided to go on a do it. The problem is I can decide on elm/sr or elm/invul.
I know the ends and outs, pros and cons, and I pretty much know how I will slot them both. Here is the twist. What ever I decide, I will roll the other as a brute starting in the new zone when GR go live next year.
So my question is, really, what combo would be best with what AT? As I said before, I understand how they work as a scrapper and how they will work as a brute. I just can't decide. Help me out here. And, no, I'm not rolling four. I need the slot space for my other GR projects spawning in my head. -
DM is a monster of a set! I know DM/SR lacks aoe, but, mine kills stuff fast enough for me not to notice too much unless soloing my freak or BM farm with bosses. Then I start missing my elm's lightning rod. Smite slotted right hits like truck. Target drops before the chain is even finish then its "On to the next one! On to the next one!"
My only "to 50" expierence with /DA is on a stalker (claw/DA). I'm sure shadow dweller and hide make for a totaly different feel and playstyle then death shroud and cloak. Not to mention the lack of spin and them turning stalker's evis. into a ST attack. I almost cried when they did that. I would of deleted it if it wasn't for the addition of shadow meld to soul mastery. I'll give /DA on a scrapper another try one day. -
I soloed a lot because I didn't like starting up teams via waiting for replies and sending out tells. I also couldn't get behind the idea of staying on someone elses team too long while my story arcs got old. The reason for soloing now are for merits and some old habits are hard to break. But I love doing TFs. Go figure.
As far as soloing, any set that can take out a boss with little trouble will do just fine. Kat/regen is good but im gonna throw my hat in for BS/regen. Both have powers that do the same thing. Broad sword just looks... Raw! All that carnage it causes with the swing of one hand. Not to mention the coolness of the look with ninja run. Also, more sword options. Especially with martial arts giving you 3 more.
Ninja run is not a replacement for a travel power. It is a weight of your shoulders before you get a travel power. I can only imagine the head ach of moving across IP with only ninja run. I have to admit, flipping into the middle of a mob then hitting whirling sword is fun. -
That's rather odd. I was bored with the default diff when I rolled my elm/regen. I was lvl 2 doing +1 x2. That took too long so I dropped to 0 x2 until I got to lvl 12 and actually started slotting enhancements.
I guess it just comes with practice seeing that was my 3rd /regen and 8th scrapper. It will get better with dull pain and even more at lvl 16 with integration. Learn your limits and get your timing down. -
-
Would it be better to switch the KB set that has the global recharge bonus when 6 slotted to the set with the + rech proc and maybe not take the full set in order to use a few slots on another power?
-
I just got mine to 50 a week ago. Thunder strike is your friend and your enemy. Lightning rod is your friend for life! The knockdowns give you time to click your heals and time for your fast regen be effective.
Thunderstrike has a long animation and won't allow and other powers to activate douring that time. That can be bad for those times you need to click a heal but can't because thunderstrike hasn't finished. If you pay attention, you won't be caught in that situation.
Lightning Rod is just win. I wish it recharged faster.
I'm not near my computer so I can't post my build. (Someone should create a mids app for blackberry.) I can tell you I went for recharge first then def. The main sets are doctored wounds in dull pain and recon, obliterations in the 3 pbaoe attacks witch also helped with deffense. I have some lotg + recharge speed slotted as well.
I was going go with blaze mastery fot the awsomeness that is fireball, but, after playing a few levels, I went for body mastery to get nrg torret to get more knockdown. I also put in the + recharge proc in nrg torret to help out with recharge. The name of the regen game is and always will be recharge recharge recharge.
Also, work on target switching in the middle of a battle so you can get the most out attacks like thunder strike and chain induction. -
That's going to be a long fight... But you should also factor in that ALL of the PB attacks have -Def in them. Plenty of places for -res procs. Not to mention the high nrg/neg res and 3 heals with one being a dull pain.
If he actually has invested time in to building a PB that he claims that can take any brute, he most likely have taken care of all holes. Not to mention the fact that he must have crazy recharge enough to have a heal up often and to attack enought to keep the -res proc going.
I say use elm/ela to sap that kheld of every last drop of end he has. -
I have this issue with my DB/Ela scrapper. They run as soon as a boss falls. They run when their health is low. They run after power sync has cleaned them out.
They don't just run out the aura range like they would with burn, they run into other rooms and on to rooftops. I'm surprised I haven't seen any run down an elavator (other then the escape missions). Clockwork King even took off running. Sometimes its funny. Most times its annoying. They need to stand there and try to fight while I shock and slash them! -
Kin. Although, the empathy buffs are nice, speed boost and fulcrum shift buffing up Lightning Rod's damage and recharged is a beautiful thing.
I have an Illusion/kin troller. Great combo and very active. Just watch your end bar before transference.
