Put 3 numinas in every power that can take them. Use 4 eradications in your pbaoe attacks. Use 3 titanium coating in you res powers. 3 Lotgs in your def powers. Every thing else, slot for preference. Those slots are just to gain more HP. I'm not in front of mids to post my DB/WP brute built for HP. That's just what I remember doing.

On my claw/sr brute (slotted the same way I have a claw/sr scrapper) I took all but elude, taunt, and swipe. After fitness, fighting, and leaping, I only had room for foc acc. I power I have to turn off at times. After i19, ill add superior conditioning (conserve power's replacement) and physical perfection and don't think ill have to turn foc acc off anymore. As well as get a little more regen. I just haven't figured out what to put in physical perfection. Guess ill run a few missions with it unslotted and see what happens.
I haven't made up my mind what that last power would be. Not sure how much use I'd get from assault and I have no need for manuvers, not even as a mule. Don't team enough for TP. My ground speed is fast enough so ss is nearly pointless. Maybe ill take taunt. Claws' taunt animation looks cool. -
Most of this stuff talked about was before my time. (Started about a week before i9.) I have heard the stories, though, and I think I would have loved the old COP hami raid, the IH toggle, the dmg/range HO in headsplitter and shadow maul, and the spine/invul scrapper that made tanks pointless, the days of dumpster diving, and the beast fire/fire tank.
What isn't before my time that I luved was the lvl 41 anchor bug and recipe rewards for completing TFs. I miss running 5 katies in a row a day on 5 different alts and ended up with at least one numina or one lotg recharge speed out of it a day. Its a shame what has happen to that glorious TF. -
The 4th slot bonus in numina only works on powers that heal and don't have a res effect to it (like FA's healing flames and Regen's reconstruction because og their res to toxic effect. I wish they do something about that). It won't work on +HP only powers like HPT (but will effect the heal part in dull pain). 3 slotting numinas in as many powers you can on a /WP, however, is always a good thing IMO.

I haven't done this with a stalker yet. I did it with a DP/nrg blaster. I stood on a ledge of one of the buildings and hit them with hail of bullets when they tried to jump up to me. They couldn't reach me but my bullets could reach them. I can imangine somebody doing this over and over by resetting the mission. Thus the no XP/inf.

Hmm. Number pad 1 for quartz and number pad 2 for sappers. Not a bad idea.
Before i18, the last time many of us would see them is in numina TF and the eden trial since the greater devoured and the rocks would be the only thing spawning at level 49+. They have moved those annoying things to higher levels now giving us headaches in the end game. Having to pull for the sake of survival and not just to mess around makes me sad. That bind will be most helpful. I need to write that down.
One question, though. Do I put the chosen key inside <>? -
The chasing is because of the dmg aura. No taunt in the auras. The one thing I hate about DB/Ela scrapper.
You can round them up pretty easily, at first. But when their health gets low, they all take off. Its mading.
Also, if you can get around the running, DB/Ela is good AoE combo set too. -
Seriously. Body mastery is the perfect pool to replace fitness with having two powers that are good without needing extra slots.
-
So many choices to get for the lotg:
combat jumping (leaping)
hover (flight)
maneuvers and veng (leadership), stealth, grant invis and invis (concealment)
link minds and indom will (psy mastery)
scorpion shield and pff (mace mastery)
ice armor (ice mastery) -
Quote:In your case, I would give that treatmentI must try this. My EM/WP brute had to make an embarassing retreat the other day from a random Rikti Heavy EB that he decided to pick a fight with on a whim in RWZ. And that was with SoW on. First time I've played him in a while though, might just be rusty, but he just has health 3-slotted with Gen health IOs.
to fast healing. Actually, I would look at the numbers you get from 5 slotting fast healing with 3 numinas (proc, heal, heal/end), a common heal IO, and the regen tissue proc. Then 3 slot health with miracle proc and miracle heal and miracle heal/end or common IO heal depending on your rule of 5 standings with the HP bonus you get from 3 slotting miracles or numinas (both are the same)
.
Also, if you must ED cap them both, you can add a common heal IO on to that or go with the 6 slotting of fast healing the way it has been mentioned then 4 slot health with 3 numinas or 3 miracles (heal, heal/end, heal/rech) and one common IO depending on if you want the regen bonuses (2 numinas) or the recovery bonuses
(2 miracles). -

The accolade Archmage (hero) grants a power called Eye of Magus that works like MOG but last longer, a longer recharge, and the res values are lower. The accolade Demonic (vill) is it's counterpart. Personaly, I think demonic is easier to get.

Quote:Shh.. The mind doms and tollers and the ill trollers will find you and make you do really really bad things to yourself.Does anybody know why that is? I keep reading that over and over, but it makes no sense. I cannot imagine why an Illusionists Blind would not be tagged as a ranged mez, or why Mass Hypnosis wouldn't be tagged as AoE. Is this just an oversight on the Dev's part that hasn't been rectified in all these years, or is there a reason for it?

I've been doing various things either on mids or in the game that have me thinking about certain ways some IO procs and bonuses will act or react. I will try to explain this as clear as I can.
First thing is about the acc healing +end proc. If it is slotted in drain psyche, will it work like it works in dark regen or will it work like performance shifter works in power sync? The same can be asked about performance shifter.
The second is about the gussian fire control chance for build up proc put in invincibility. Will it check every mob in the area or will it just start working like its in a toggle once a mob is close enough to activate invincibility. I already know it won't fire when no mobs are close.
This one is a little tricky. When you have mezz resistance bonuses, do they only cut the duration of said effect or the duration of the entire power effecting you? Let's say I have immob res and I get hit with web grenade. Will the -jump/fly last longer then the immob if I have high immob res or will it last the same amount of time since its tied in to the same power? If the last is true, that would make those immob res bonuses we take for granted a little more helpful.
Those are the questions that have been bugging me lately. -
Quote:That will work on all range mezzes except Mind and illusion mezzes. Those don't have a positional tag so you will need psi def.If you are playing a squishy, or an AT without mez protection, how does defense against mezzes work?
I have a mind/ff troller in mid twenties, and working on a build that would get soft capped defense to ranged attacks. Would this cover ranged mezzes? Was hoping that I would be able to hover over the fray doing the troller thing, and still have a great chance for ranged mezzes to completely miss me most of the time.
Thanks in advance! -
Quote:Your logic is instead of having the power to knock down the steel wall, you would rather make the steel wall weak as tissue paper. Fair enough, I suppose. I tend to offend a lot of people with my qoute. I normaly get that same defender response you gave or someone saying "except againts Ghost Widow" One of those is personal prefence and the other is just plain wrong.Meh. My teams move faster with defenders in the place of scrappers. Scrappers are awesome, no doubt about it. There just seems to be waaaaay too many of 'em.
What I said was still a joke. Call it hyperbole if you like. Someone says "You can solve any problem by throwing more scappers at it" and I immediately think "but it'd be better to throw more defenders." It was a slightly snarky response. A witty retort. An attempt to be funny. Apparently I just failed.
Maybe I should be more clear. I never turn any AT, any powerset, or any concept build down when I'm running a TF. Bring me your tired, your poor, your petless MMs, your pure empaths... Hell, I've taken a level 36 regen scrapper along for an MoITF. I'm never going to say "I don't want that on my team."
But I still prefer almost anything over a scrapper.
The reason you see so many scrappers is because they are still that damn good. Reguardless of any person's personal prefence for Buff/Debuff ATs or horrid myths in dealing with particular NPC AVs (Looking at you Protien, Ghost Widow, and Healing Nictus).
Truth is, any AT can do any content if played right. I just happen to like the flip out and kill tactic or the beat them while they aren't moving tactic more so then the make them weak and feeble first tactic or shoot them from far away tactic. (Several ATs allow for more then one tactic and play those too) They all can be done really fast or really slow. -
Quote:Indeed.I sincerely hope this is a joke. The guy who not only defied the stereotype of DA Sucks! but made a mockery of it couldn't possibly transfer that alienation onto another.
I cant comprehend that the guy who enjoys the frenetic pace of mirelock would frown upon his scrapperlocked brother.
There is enough bias around here, there is no need to propagate any more. -
Quote:The +end proc in stamina is better then stamina that has one end mod IO. and its better in the 3rd slot of QR then a 3rd end mod IO. Thats something to think about when you dont have enough slots to go around.By that, I take it you mean putting the slot in Health for the Miracle/Numina's unique instead of putting a slot in Stamina for an EndMod IO?
Also, remember the Perforance Shifter proc, too. It's debatable in Stamina (great for a fourth slot, though), but it's hands-down fantastic in Physical Perfection, thanks to the lower base values.
if you have physical perfection, you can slot one there as well. the +end isnt a unique, or a set bonus so you slot it as much as you want. so far, only brutes can slot 4 in auto powers (/WPs QR, stam, energy mastery's superior conditioning and physical perfection) Its debatable that that may be overkill. -

Give them time. Dont forget about Children's Crusade. On a side note, Avengers #5, i think it is, has a timeline in it. Some rather interesting events planned... maybe.

Quote:True. It just annoys me to look at values not move much when you slot them and you are not even close to the ED cap. Several powers are like that but I mentioned regen since that's the topic. If you're setting up Regeneration to deal with its strength and weaknesses properly, you should have more than enough time to react to extreme situations. Besides IO bonuses, Tough and Weave add a lot of layering for Regeneration that helps a lot.
Alpha strikes are technically a weakness for Regeneration, but again, you can set Regen up so that you can respond to even that in time. I've actually gone AFK a few times (without meaning to) on my Regen, and had a few minions shooting at me at the same time. I came back and hadn't died or had my health budge at all. Not a huge performance metric, I know, but that does say something.
If Regneration needs anything, I'm dubious that it needs more healing or regeneration. It already does that quite well. Debuff resistance of some sort is the most I can see happening, as there aren't really any good reasons for it not to have some debuff resistance, either.
Of course, my arguments about Dark and Fiery Aura not having KB Protection not making sense haven't gone anywhere, either. So who knows if that line of reasoning is enough to make the devs budge. *shrugs*
As far as recon working like energize (the regen part), I was considering those hot moments when you use it and you are getting hit so much that your green bar looks like you didn't even use the power at all. Also, to be helpful when IH is down. I guess that's what shadow meld will be good for. Thing is, not everybody wants that... I'm guessing.
I'd take -regen and -recharge/slow res, no doubt. Last time this idea came up. Someone kept screaming it would be OP. That was funny. Its not like it will allow you to wipe out and entire spawn in a blink of an eye. (Yeah I went there) -
Quote:Anyone that has ever done an all scrapper stf will tell you that this is wrong. Everytime I hear someone say this, I request that they go look up ghost widow on paragonwiki.com and get some true knowledge and never speak of this horrid myth ever again. The only TF I've EVER had troubles with because of team comp is STF, and that's only because melee heavy teams CAN'T kill ghost widow. Even then we might have been fine if we had better players. LRSF can be done with tanks, or lots of buffs, or dominators sleeping things, ITF can be done by whatever the hell you want.
