Quote:I was confused by the OP's first sentence as well, since obviously all IO sets need to be fully slotted to give the "full" benefits they offer. Perhaps this could have been reworded as "you don't usually need to slot the entire set to get all the worthwhile benefits."Also, I reject the premise in the OP that few require all to give you the *full* benefit. Are there IO sets out there that don't give any set bonuses up to and including the final IO?
Your friend is not alone, I also slot IO sets purely for the sake of collecting them. For me, it's a game within a game. While I won't deliberately gimp a power with an IO set, and obviously I prefer sets that confer a tangible in-game benefit, I have slotted IO sets that don't much improve my character simply for the sake of slotting the set. Generally I prefer to collect the whole set just for the satisfaction of completion, although in some cases where the cost vs benefit is just too ridiculous, I have settled for incomplete sets. -
Quote:The AE beam is probably where you should have clicked. When this happened to me (and also in previous instances I've seen reported on these boards) the AE beam replaced the normal mission door for the mission. We couldn't, the indicator was inside the AE building itself, clicking on a door didn't lead to the mission. (Although, I don't think any of us thought to click on the AE beam.)
This has been happening since right after AE went live, so it's an old bug that has just never gone away. -
If you are hidden, your character name is grayed out in the SG window exactly as if you were offline--even when you are looking at the window. This is an easy one you can check for yourself to confirm.

Based on the info in the OP's post, those two would still only have half the flight time of one regular raptor pack.
The jetpack receipe is recent. I didn't know what was involved in crafting one, but if what the OP says is true, it doesn't seem like the costs of crafting one vs the alternatives make much sense. Does it look different? That could be a factor for some. -
The thread starter is listed under the thread name. I don't know if this is affected if the thread starter is ignored, but assuming its not, you could always check to see who starter a thread before you open it. I like to do this anyway, as knowing who started a thread can sometimes give me a good idea of what to expect.

The moment I create the character.
The only ones I've ever deleted were low level (single digit) characters and it was only because I wanted to recreate them. -
See, I can understand players not choosing ice for that reason, or else asking for it to be changed, but I'm not sure why they would demand it be removed. Unless they assumed doing so would cause something else to be added in its place?
-
The one that surprises me is removing ice from brutes. Why would players request that?

Quote:Surprisingly enough, this was not the first superhero with detachable limbs. There was also Captain Marvel. No, not the legendary hero published by Fawcett, nor the semi-legendary hero later published by Marvel, but a lame robot hero published by a totally forgettable comic company in the years between the other two Captain Marvels.

There have been some complaints about emailed inf disappearing when the globals went down. I don't know if that really happened or if those people were able to recover the inf or not, but personally any time I send anything valuable to myself via email, I'm claiming it asap. Might be a viable way to store stuff, but I'm not taking changes.

Not only are civilians still pushing our heroes around, but now they are honking at them as well. Unbelievable.

Oh great, now the next time I play I'll be scouting all over the place for locations for my super group bases. Thanks, people! Another time-sink, I didn't need!
I always thought the bases were supposed to be located in some kind of pocket dimension, but real map locations are much cooler. In fact I once thought it would be an awesome idea if instead of everyone using the same portal to access their base, each supergroup was randomly assigned a mission door somewhere for access (ideally you could at least choose the door type, say warehouse, office, cave, sewer, etc, depending on the type of base design you wanted to go with.) But I know that's too much to ask. I guess using your own imagination is the next best thing! -

Quote:That was it. I guess the badge description works both ways--Protean failed to kill you because you avoided being blown up, or Protean failed to kill you because you survived being blown up."Explosive Finale
Protean thought he could put an end to you by blowing you up - you proved him wrong."
Is that the badge? If so, that's the one you get for completing successfully.
Anyway, I'm glad I still got the badge. -
I also had a low level character somehow credited with thousands of hours of patrol time (when in reality it was a few hours at best--I think he was less than level 10). So I'd say there's a bug. My guess is that Master-Blade is right, some characters don't get correctly logged out and earn patrol time while actually offline.

I have also had the bogus ??? red arrow show up on mission maps. The last time it happened was in a defeat all, and it appeared when there was one mob left. When I finally did get the last mob, he was was nowhere near the ??? arrow and no red arrow ever appeared at his actual location. However, the ??? arrow disappeared after I defeated him. On other occassions this happened, it was not a defeat all, and I didn't want to spend forever looking, so I don't know if there really was one last mob or not.
Based on the above, I suspect the ??? arrow appears when there is one final mob but for some reason the game can't accurately pinpoint its actual location. But that's just a guess.
Most of the time, this feature has worked just fine for me, but it does seem there are a few bugs. You're not doing anything wrong, the feature should work automatically, so definitely petition it, I'm sure the Devs will get it ironed out. -
I did get a badge after I failed to exit in time. I don't remember the name of the badge (can't check at the moment) but I think the badge title was something about being blown up, so I believe it may have been result-specific (meaning I assume that I would have gotten a different badge had I got out in time). I could be wrong, though, so don't quote me on this.

Quote:All of these new arcs have instances where you have a choice of how to respond. None of the choices seemed to affect the course of the story arc in any major way, but I definitely get the feeling that this is a taste of how things will work with GR and missions where your choices do have consequences. That's the entire reason I feel like this is a preview of the morale missions we'll be facing once GR comes out.
Back on topic, I was able to figure out pretty quickly that I needed to find the working elevator, but I had trouble seeing where I was going because of all the fire. Next time I'll try to familiarize myself with the map layout a bit better. Even though I didn't escape in time, it still seemed like I completed the mission successfully. Is there a merit reduction if you don't get out before the timer ends? -
One of my AE missions (created shortly after I14) has an ally--sometimes he fights, and sometimes he stands there like an idiot doing nothing. So the ally AI in AE does seem a bit wonky, and I think always has been.
As for allies outside of AE, I did two missions yesterday with allies and both helped out just like they were supposed to, but non AE allies can be a bit wonky too. -
Quote:I should point out that /stuck doesn't seem to work in this case--least it didn't for me on the 4 occasions I got stuck there. The other solutions work just fine. However, if you are trying to leave Cimerora and get stuck in the crystal at the Midnighters Club (yes, you get stuck going both ways), self destruct will send you to the hospital back in Cimerora. So the only way to get out is to use one of the teleport options.did you try /stuck or maybe blowing yourself up and going to hosp or using base tp or ww tp or pocket d tp or ouro tp?
Anyone who doesn't have access to one of the teleporter options should just stay away from Cimerora for now.
Here's a bug I haven't seen mentioned yet: while the new feature that shows the last mob on your map is a great boon and has helped me out a lot, I've run into two occasions where the last enemy was not where the green arrow indicated he should be. On the first such occasion, it was a defeat all mission and I had to petition a GM to help me finish the mission. The GM teleported me to the location of the last enemy, and it was half way across the map from where the green arrow indicated he was. Weird. Anyone else run into this? -
Quote:Even with the red star, a leader who is inactive for 45 days (or however long it is set to under settings) will be auto-demoted as soon as another member logs in (and the new member will be auto-promoted to super leader in his/her place). Nothing you can do to prevent that other than to kick all other players out of your group before you go inactive (if no one else logs in, even after 45 days, you retrain super leader status indefinitely)But with the Red Star you can prevent all of that.
You can only allow yourself (the red star) to Kick or demote but allow varying degrees on other settings. Besides no one can sell an SG if they aren't the red star unless the buyer is not thinking about what would happen when the red star shows up.
