  1. 900 damage was accurate, but because of the fear, rarely ever did something stay in it to take all 900. (Immobs aside)

500 is accurate, and the enemies don't run. I think that's a better option.

    *Points to his sig*

Read that post real quick. It has its merits.
  3. Based on how Fire Armor behaves now with Fiery Embrace and NewBurn, I'd reckon, in my eyes anyway, the KB hole is totally fair. My scrapper can one-shot yellow minions with FE and NewBurn. ;D
  4. At higher levels, brutes will have far and away more HP and their caps for resistance are higher, 90% max resist versus scrapper 75%. Scrappers however do not have to maintain fury for good damage output plus get criticals, whereas brutes have to maintain their fury to keep even.

Overall, I'd say go brute if you plan to team. If even ONE person on your team is a kin, the brute's potential for damage is a home run.

And if you can get Oil Slick Arrow to ignite, it's essentially another "Rain of Fire" that's autohit... sure it doesn't Scourge, but the base damage is already double what RoF is (3.34 per tick vs 1.67 per tick), so the overall damage will probably be fairly close over the rapidly dwindling hit points of the mobs inside. Throw in a Disruption and an Acid Arrow on top for giggles.

(then complain because the long recharge means that you don't get to do it nearly as often as the Fire/Cold or Fire/Storm can tack on extra damage to go with the -30% resistance with Sleet/Freezing Rain, and the Fire/Kin just cackles insanely while staying at or near the damage cap from the first spawn to the end)
Just wanted to mention OSA is 100% guarantee to ignite now. That is, when struck with fire/rad/elec/nrg.
  6. How is that I play this game, and not one person on this list I want to see? Except maybe Stan Lee and Bruce Campbell, whom I adore and acknowledge the cult following of respectively, nobody screams "Dude, this is your one chance!"

    *shrugs*

I guess I'm in love with the content of the genre and not the minds behind them. Never thought of it like that before.
  7. I cannot play Masterminds anymore.

One was enough, and it was a stretch to get it done.

I'd say stalkers are down there, but I played /DA before they fixed CoF and OG. I'd probably like me a kin/nin.

    Damn you Xanatos, stop cameo-ing!

Oh **** I never saw Razoras' "Wes the Mess" until RIGHT now.
  9. *revs up the Speculatron 5000*
  10. I don't know the technicals, but ideas like "City Vault" integrating this game with off-server assets apparently caused the game performance to sink to the depths of unplayability. One of the devs had said as much during an online Q&A, I think.

Anyway, I think information passing OUTSIDE this game by and large is an engine limitation they cannot overcome.

Well that's good news, at least - gives the devs a specific place to look.
  12. 10.8 Catalyst Drivers are out and solve a lot of issues.

Edit: Hrm, if you're running 10.8 I have no idea what's going on. Try turning off settings one at a time until you isolate it.
  13. My ex-adult-movie-star electricity blaster got uproarious applause for "Backwoodsman".
  14. You know what would be awesome?

If, like previously suggested, DA hd its own story arc. But it's a magic-only arc, (not to say that only magic origins can do it, but that it's all magic-oriented enemies like COT, Legacy, BP and Tsoo) and the contacts are all mages of some sort that have established small warding rings to push back the fog. Small bubbles of clarity (to make them easier to find f the revamp happened) about the diameter of the Apocalypse Banners. That would be awesome.
  15. Stone/Elec is not hard to softcap and has ridiculously good mitigation in the form of Fault, which together with Tremor, can take a FF +Rech proc. So not only can you softcap, but you can easily run 150%+ recharge without really trying, and you don't need Hasten for it.

    Hand Clap

Aside from BABs, the other three are Incarnates. Clearly the damage is coming from one of the ten new Incarnate slots we haven't gotten yet
  17. Why not Elec? Elec can be made into leetsauce.
  18. If you were looking in the Sewers...

It's in the ABANDONED Sewers IIRC. Gotta go down a level.

i wonder what a 'public opinion' mechanic might look like actually. for instance, you've failed a mission and the public 'hears' about it, somehow causing an effect. something like bad press and what that might do to a hero...

    This.
  21. I haven't had the time to test this and was wondering if anyone else could simply shout a conclusive "YAY" or "NAY" on how this works.

On my tanker, do all my attacks do -DMG, or ONLY when Power Siphon is active? In building my tanker for survivability, I have forgone this power. But does Power Siphon's wording imply that no -DMG happens until it is active, or when active, the -DMG additionally becomes +DMG to you?

If any of you fine folk aren't busy and can help me understand this, that'd be awesome.

Like, Neil Patrick Harris kind of awesome.

    Things-you-find-in-Japanese-vending-machines kind of awesome.

Anyway thanks in advance for the help.
