Join the Resistance! Once Cole is down, SOMEONE is going to have to lead Praetoria
-
I say i17 will introduce the Cathedral of Pain and Raids back, since we were told they were coming back and it'd be unfair to exclude that from some of the player base.
-The QoL changes with GR will probably be there too.
-Maybe the new powersets. -
-
Glad to know I could've helped!
I'm a fan of your other work, such as Astoria In D Minor and The Beating Heart of Astoria, so I decided why not give you feedback on your latest arc!
I agree with the first feedback being the most important. Let's hope it become as popular as your others -
.. For Going Rogue.
At the moment, I'm running off a Nvidia GeForce 6200
-DirectX9.0
-64bit
-AGPX8
I'm just curious as to how well this will perform if running Ultra Mode in GR? -
One of the problems for me is, my home server (Union) is full, except for one slot which I have a placeholder in.
I'm sure myself, and more members of the community, will want additional slots when purchasing GR.
Any confirmation? -
Quote:This would be a lovely way to have the system!I want to open by saying that I think CoV's system of unlocking contacts via Mayhem missions is a mistake. It doesn't make the game more proactive, since you're still reacting to opportunities. It just makes it more cumbersome.
Secondly, while I'd be happy to have a variety of paper/scanner mission TYPES, I'd really like to have the ability to target a specific faction. It really helps with hunts, and sometimes I just feel like taking on someone in specific.
Here's what I have in mind. We want something that's proactive, right? So instead of waiting for the paper to print something for us to react to, why not have a source of information on the enemy groups where we can go to check? It'd go something like this:
This is the PPD criminal database. Who would you like to investigate?
1. Freakshow
2. Council
3. Warriors
4. Tsoo
5. Family
6. Sky Raiders
Prompt: 3
Listing recent Warriors activity. Which would you like to investigate?
1. Robbery of a local pawn shop
2. Kidnapping of Dr. Winslow from the local hospital
3. Theft of Isis' Divining Rod
4. Suspected possession of illegal artefacts
5. Arrest warrant for Yanis "The Strong" Sertakis.
6. Suspected gang activity in the abandoned Peterson office complex.
Prompt: 5
Yanis Sertakis, the leader of a violent Warriors faction suspected of multiple thefts, assaults and a murder, is believed to be hiding out in a cave complex underneath Talos Island. Sertakis is considered armed and extremely dangerous, and no PPD forces of sufficient strength are currently available to enact his arrest. This is an official request for any licensed heroes to arrest Yanis Sertakis and bring him in for questioning.

Of course, that sort of thing is a lot of work to pull together and a lot of work writing missions. However, these missions might end up being slightly less random (and random isn't exactly good, judging from experience), make more sense AND give us better opportunities to actually do something truly proactive. And I mean proactive in terms of narrative, not just proactive in that "I clicked a button, it wasn't automatic." -
I'm with the others, and by others, I mean the people that aren't trying to bash you for having this is the wrong section.
I found it helpful (especially the slotting part), the one problem I had is that you left out certain powersets of characters I have. (Altoholism means I'll find it hard to get a specific build to 50 so I need to use my current 50s)
So, I was wondering (and was hoping you could PM me the answer), how would a Katana/Willpower Scrapper fare in PvP? And how should I slot/build it? PvP is something I've always wanted to get into. -
- ALL powers in the game available, limited only by their level restrictions. In other words, if you've always wondered what a Fire/Regen Blaster would be like, or a Necro/Kin MM. Or a Kin/Necro Defender with Fireball, Integration, and Oppressive Gloom!
- All unlockables, including costumes and weapon skins.
- All TEMP powers only.
Those'd be my picks. -
Just so you know, I'm not a good reviewer so sorry if this isn't very good feedback, consider it commentary
Mission One
One thing I will say about the first mission is that the statue looked a bit out of place. I have to hand it to you, even though I thought it wouldn't be as creepy as Astoria in D Minor, the fact that the Memories just popped up when I turned around made me jump, I will admit.
The intro dialog is a bit disappointing and bland, but the return dialog is much more interesting!
Mission Two
All I will say is, excellent use of objectives and pretty eerie and spooky. I don't want to ruin this mission for anyone else by saying anything more about it!
Mission Three
At this stage, the inactive NPC's have lost their eeriness and make the missions seem a bit, well I wouldn't say boring, because the drive of the story keeps it interesting, but more uneventful.
Also.. Why are there inactive objectives?
Mission Four
The character design seems.. I don't know how to describe it. Was the clown paint really necessary?
Mission Five
This mission was quite tedious, but the end of it was quite good.
My overall impressions of it is that it starts out excellent, but slowly deteriorates with each mission. The first one shocked me a bit towards the end, and the second was very eerie, but these two mechanics you used wore thin towards the end. Although, I do like the fact that after you defeated the Banish Pantheon, your isolation was focused on.
I gave it ****-Four Stars. The reason it was not five is because it felt more like a series of events with no particular plotline, rather it just got across the message of isolation in Dark Astoria. Also, I found the mechanics became too familiar during the arc, and towards the end the "horror effect" wore off.
Astoria In D Minor was better for horror, because it had some creepy and odd parts to it until the fourth mission, which I found to be the high point of the horror. In this arc, it worked backwards, in that sense. Having the more disturbing elements at the start. -

Okay, this whole "undern3t" thing has got me wanting to join in all the Resistance and Loyalist nonsense!

Quote:You heard it first here, folks! They're bringing back Hami Raids with GR!Devouring Earth a LOT scarier in Praetoia, just like Clockwork are a lot scarier here.
You know how scientists in this world tend to be irresponsible and make things "Just 'cuz"? In Pra, you can multiple that by twenty. Hamidon happened a long time ago their, as opposed to how recently it is here.
Ergo, the Hamidon problem is significantly more severe in their world. Given what a scary concept Hami would be to those people, I doubt they would seek it out. -
We'd need this emote though:
-
I'm assuming the same rules for Vigilantes and Rogues that apply for Auction Houses apply for SGs and PvP.
-
I like everything on this thread
One other thing that'd be good; when you go the news stand you can get an in-game version of City Scoop to read while waiting on a TF and whatnot to start. -
Sounds good to me. Would also encourage people to run less-done TF's like SSTF, etc.
-
I'd love this for my Zombie MM. She's a typical street punk who can summon zombies. Dark Blasts don't suit her at all.
-
I'd like if you could review my arc; The Fall of Rapture-I.D:299507
You can also try the other two arcs in my Signature if you want -
My Trap/AR Defender Ava Sixx will be becoming a vigilante. She's basically a trophy-hunter, taking down anything big and tough (GM's) and various villains. That means hunting the Rogue Isles too
-
Couldn't agree more. Or they could always increase the standard run speed?
-
The new water graphics make me want to drool..
