  1. Hmm:

Berzerk: For two minutes you do +20% damage and +5% ToHit. You gain +10% Res to all except Psionics from ignoring the pain. However, you have -10% Recovery, -10% Def, and will lose all remaining endurance when your berzerk rage wears off.

(To be really nasty...) If you run out of opponents while Berzerk and do not attack anything for 10 seconds, you become Confused and start attacking any friends within range.

Compare that to places like Perez, Boomtown, Dark Astoria, Crey's Folly and even Eden.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Perez is a no-no. It's in the middle of the city, the authorities would go bonkers if villains started invading.

Eden has its own Trial, but is otherwise a waste.

Crey's Folly, I'd imagine, is going to end up having something done to it, and could go co-op seeing as it used to be the main entrance to what is now the RWZ. OTOH, I doubt the authorities would like it much having a fat villain pipeline right through to the front door of the Zig.

I wish they'd do something with DA, but not turn it into a low level co-op zone.

Boomtown... they can do anything they like with Boomtown. Wonder if it could be the site for a 5th Column spearhead operation which could (maybe) bring about some form of co-op activity..? It is jammed full of Council troops doing drill at the moment.

    Team Synergy

Kat/Regen Scrapper and two Empath/* Defenders.

Never run out of endurance, 2000% health regen, hit like a freight train, perma-hastened. Scrapper heaven.

And the two girls got to sit back and chatter while I slaughtered things and their XP clocked up, so they were happy.

And I bet you were after something deep and meaningful.

Oh, btw...what if Hollows would be that coop zone?

    [/ QUOTE ]

While it's the logical choice, it's also had more revamps than Britney Spears, and would need a massive change of design for it to be a logical co-op zone.

I never understood the practice of using a boss as an anchor. If I am playing as a scrapper or blaster the boss is my first target. Get the big bad one out of the way. When I am playing a character with anchor powers I tend to use a lieu. Is that just me?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Depends how I'm feeling and what kind of 'boss' we're talking about. If it's actually a Boss then I make it up as I go along. If it's an EB I'll waste his minions because they represent a significant, annoying damage input which will likely be there until thier boss is dead if I don't waste them first.

My one character with anchor powers tends to go for the highest ranking NPC in a group (when soloing) for the same reason. I'll eat away the faster to kill targets first.

I expect this post will have gone by early tomorrow since two of the later posts have been reported (not both of them by me). However...

    This thread badly needs closing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. I did ask the trollers to stay away from this thread. In fairness, after I asked that they did. Till
    this guy came along.

Sorry but I really do not enjoy being insulted. I still dont think the concept I put forward was stupid. I also conceded that this wasnt a winning idea on these boards ages ago.

Although I now discover that other games are widening the sidekick concept out so maybe I wasnt so off the mark after all.
    But yes. Close the thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lionsbane. Do not EVER use a post of mine as an excuse to pour out more of your vitriolic rubbish unless, for some reason, you are directing it at ME because of something I have posted about YOU.

  8. You aren't trying to get this on topic are you?

Perhaps a shield shaped like a giant iron!

You're not even trying to hide the flamebaiting now, are you?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely, let's get straight to the GG bashing. How constructive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Irony. Lost on some people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not if you use a flat iron, and hit them really hard.

    5 Bonus Cap?

The wiki stuff doesn't include info on the ultra rares. The article is marked as 'work in progress'

Some evidence to suggest that they shouldn't work if the power is unavailable, so don't get used to it, it could be a bug.
  11. What Gash said.

I remember when Intel tried to trademark the lower case letter 'i'. Even the American legal system wouldn't let them get away with that one.

Actually, funny thing is, I'd have thought Defender (the character) was owned by Hero Games. Maybe they never bothered.

    Like purchasable character slots?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    No... not really.

Hmm... a Vet Reward where you get a non-combat pet that struggles along after you carrying huge quantities of weapons, enhancements and little bottles in various different colours...
  13. It's a miss-quote anyway.

    "If it ain't broke..."

Imagine actually saying 'broken', I mean, it's just not done.

For some reason this made me think of Mr Benn "As if by magic, the Shopkeeper appeared.".

Talking of puddings, Ecky-Thump for scrappers, tankers stalkers and brutes.

And I'm old enough not to have needed to look up the reference. Oh yeah... want this one, but I think it would be horribly overpowered.

Maybe just set it up as a weapon customisation option. Then people could dual-wield!

Are you suggesting that more brass mechanical spiders would not be a good thing?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

It depends. If they come with a wiki-wiki-wild-wild-west zone then nope

Unless there's a mission where we get to beat up a rapping cowboy called Smiff of course...

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know darn well that the rapping cowboy called Smiff would be police band contact...
  17. Red Bull and a weekend off, but close enough.

Thanks for the appreciation. A joint effort, but it's nice to know we can act a bit of drama the people enjoy.
  18. That's what I was thinking of, yep.
  19. There's one in the Vanguard HQ in Atlas Park, but I don't think you could have a very 'public' one. As I said earlier, they wouldn't be trusted. Perhaps in the future...

    World Villains

    Namesis springs to mind.
    I think Recluse as well.

Oh and isn't Project: World Wide Red all about world domination?

    Tanker powersets

    [ QUOTE ]
But as it stands, it should be could "pretty tough" not "invulnverability."

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's the answer then, we just need to change the name.

Invulnerability becomes Pretty Tough But Your Brain Fries.
or maybe: Invulnerable for Three Minutes.

    And then we can have:

Regen -> Pocket Empath With Random High-Res/Def Power.
Stone -> Lots of Res and some Def, I Mean How Hard is it to Hit a Rock, Oh Yeah, and Don't Move.
Willpower -> Random Bag of Stuff We Got Out Of Other Sets, Don't Attack AVs.

Truth in Advertising, it's the way forward.

CO is going to have a 'wild west' zone, some sort of spooky dude ranch. Going to seem like copying if they did that.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Can you really copy something that's copying you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It isn't. It's taking an established RPG genre and creating another game based on it. Champions has been around for decades, I think it predates more or less every other superpower RPG.

Of course, since it's the same company doing it (effectively) cries of 'copy' are bound to happen, but that's kind of similar to saying that all fantasy books copy Tolkien.

As it stands, CO has a planned and punlicized western setting, CoX doesn't. And considering that the location would need to be a long way away from Rhode Island, it doesn't seem like a good plan anyway.

A wild west event in Pocket D I could just about see...
