  1. Rangle M. Down

    Advice on a name

Never said Witches were the devil or associated with such things, just trying to find ideas that may fit Eek's needs/wants for a name.

  2. Another option that you can try if you get a tell.

Type in /search and find out what zone the character is in, go to that zone and send a /broadcast (zone wide) or /local (close area) comment saying you'd like to join their team. It's not as efficient but it can still get the job done.
  3. Rangle M. Down

    Advice on a name

    Hexenmal: German for Witches' Mark.

The wiki page translated to English here.
  4. What are you looking to do with this toon?

    Keep it SOs?
    Keep it straight IO's
    Use IO sets for bonuses?

If you're looking to soft cap the defenses, look at Call Me Awesome's two guides to Invulnerability in the tanker section or in his Sig.

You've done a few things I wouldn't necessarily do, but it would help to have a better picture of what you're thinking.
  5. Rangle M. Down

    Advice on a name

La marca del Diablo, Spanish for "Mark of the Devil"
  6. Rangle M. Down

    Advice on a name

    Le Signe du Diable.

I believe it's French for "sign of the devil" or "mark of the devil" possibly even "Devil's Mark"

I'm still learning dark armor but does death shrouds pulse cancel CoF's effect?? I haven't played with fears much so not sure how that would work.
Death Shroud will allow them to counter attack every time it hits. See the wiki entry here for a good explanation of how fear works in the game, if you didn't know. CoF will slow down the attacks from those effected by the fear.
  8. In no particular order: All have enough resists/defenses to let you survive solo and enough damage to keep things moving quickly.

    Fire/Fire
    Dark/Fire
    Fire/SS
    SD/Fire
    SD/SS
    ELA/Fire
    ELA/SS

AAO in Shield Defense makes up for it's lack of a damage aura with it's constant +damage. I haven't played with Ice Armor enough to throw it into the mix, but I suspect it would do fine as a solo primary as well. I also haven't played enough with Electric Melee to make a comment one way or another.
  9. Well. We ended up doing two more radios in PI. The first one went well. The second one... uhm... not so well.

    So, the second mission:
I had forgotten I'd set my Dark/Dark tank to +0/x8, a setting I normally solo on this tank, and not thinking about the level differences on the team I grabbed a Carnies mission. Each spawn had two bosses, either DRM or MI or a combination of both. We occasionally aggroed two groups... As things went on we lost a few players down to 5 at one point. Needless to say we struggled through it and finally got it finished.

So hopefully, beyond my bonehead move, everyone else had a good TTJ.
  10. For me it's not just the snot bananas, but the whole goofy seated flying away... that cracks me up every time.
  11. Hm.... guess my over the top "tongue firmly planted in cheek" humor was lost on a few folks.

OR, maybe a few folks take this all waaaay to seriously for their own good?

    I'll let you decide.

I hope a few people did find it humorous, if not, sorry. I'll try better next time.
  12. More is always better. A little less "Villainish" looking. I'd love a better "monster head" for my Mutant Polar Bear toon.
  13. Concept: Allows you to purchase a powerset "do over" for any toon level 10 or below. Once you've gotten to level 11 it is NO LONGER accessible. So NO redoing your level 50 from scratch. NO changing AT from tank to scrapper, etc. The purchase price could be anywhere from 1 mil -100 mil influence, but let's start with 10 million influence. There's a minor influence sink.

Reasoning: Mainly laziness. The reality is I've created many a toon with a concept in mind only to find that I didn't like the powers that I've chosen. I usually figure this out before I've gotten to level 14. So in turn, I've gone and remade the toons several times until I had the powers that worked for me. I typically don't change the toons AT when I do this as the AT was part of the concept for the character.

Why level 10? By this time you've achieved access to over 50% of your primary powers and 45% of your secondary powers and you're usually beginning to get an idea of how the power sets would play in the long run. This would keep from having a lowbie toon with all the Accolades, defeat badges etc. if you gave a "restart" to a level 50 toon.

Conclusion: Is this something I really want? No, not really. I'm fine redoing the toons I can't make work by level 10. But this might be something other people would want so I'm throwing it out here for others to comment on.

Would I use it? Of course, if it made your life easier, wouldn't you? (see the laziness comment. )

Would this keep me from making alts? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... My wife shakes her head and mutters at me every time I make a new toon. I'm not as bad as some, but I'm still fairly bad.

Would this keep down the continual requests for full re-specification threads? It's a nice thought, but the reality is "not a smoking chance in Hades."
  14. GUYS! I know you're trying to help, but it's hard to find my contact lens with so many of you standing around looking for it with your aura's on!!!!!!

Please read up on the Force Feedback +rech Proc. you're using in Footstomp. Especially concerning the cool down period that is enforced.

  18. With the Theft of Essence +end you can sometimes get more end back then you've used. I know I have more often then I could have hoped.
  19. Happy Belated. Birthday that is.
  20. Manga; if you switch out the Kinetic Crash IO's with Crushing Impact IO's you will still get a lot of recharge, not as much as the KC's, but you'll keep your enemies closer.

In Footstomp; I'd frankenslot and throw in the Force Feedback- Chance for +recharge in the 6th slot.

    Dark/Axe

I've got a level 50 Dark/Dark that isn't quite IO'd to the extent Dechs is and she's one of my stronger tanks. DA takes a bit more work then some sets, but it has great potential.

Axe has nice mitigation with Knockdown that should work well with DA.

So yes,you have the possibility of a very nice tank there. But if you're not enjoying it, delete it.

If you're willing to help us with information, we're willing to help you with your build. The ball, as they say, is in your court.
  23. Uhm... My first and major reaction to this: You put knockback IO sets into everything??????? YIKES!

So you hit one enemy and he goes flying out of your taunt/damage aura.

    Rinse repeat.

Hit footstomp, the group goes flying out of your taunt/damage aura.

Not sure how that will play in the long run, but every time you attack the other melee toons are going to start wondering why they keep having to keep chasing down their targets.

Oh, and don't chain in Power Sink right after footstomp as you won't drain very many enemies as you'll have knocked them out of range.
  24. Unfortunately it looks like I won't be making tonight's Tanker Tuesday on the Champion Server. Have fun folks. Go get yer tank on!
