Ah, I actually did clean sweep again and installed those older drivers on a tip from another forumite on Nvidia. There was no change. Re-sweeping-updating again, anyway. The drivers are not the issue, me thinks.

I just can't seem to get a handle on this. System is freshly built by my own hand, everything is working perfect.
And then I play CoX, and I'm getting... 15FPS in Cap? I made sure to turn Occlusion off while running FSAA, but... well, I don't know. I just feel like I'm not getting the proper performance out of what I have.
And what do I have? This (on laptop, no DXDiag for the desktop tonight):
Motherboard: ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer"
CPU: i7 960 3.2 (not OC'd, waiting on V8 Cooler)
RAM: 12GB DDR3 standard Corsair (nothing fancy, just your basic stuff)
Primary HD: Intel X25M 160GB SSD (<--- CoX is on this, however)
Data HD: 1TB Seagate 7200RPM
PSU: InWin 1200w Commando <---- I know, right?
GPU: Nvidia 295 with a small amount of overclocking. Drivers are up to date and I did a full SafeMode/Driver Sweeper just to be sure. Rolling at 1920 resolution.
The only thing I can think of is that the 295 is not in the first PCI-E slot, but it is in a x16 slot. Something else that caught my attention was, using GPU-Z, only one GPU of the 295 (which is two smooshed together) was getting hot. The first hovers between 55-65C while the other just seems to be idle at 47ish.
Any thoughts from anyone? The 295 should be killing CoX with a 1200w PSU.
What is happening???? ;_;
Also, using GPU-Z, I notice that SLI Mode is disabled. Is the 295 suppose to be recognized as an SLI card? -
Figured I'd ask while we got a tech thread...
Anyone mess with pre-rendered framed? -
Quote:Oh, I get vertical tearing. A LOT of vertical tearing. It seems I'm really sensitive to that stuff, so it really bugs me when I see it. I'll try turning it off just to have a look, but last time I fiddled around with that on Test, it didn't make a difference in performance.
By the way, I currently have the V-sync option as application controlled, but I still have it on via the in-game options (LOVE games that let me choose). What kind of slowdown am I looking from it? As far as I know, it syncs up framerate to refresh rate, but wouldn't that only affect framerates higher than 60 FPS anyway?
Oddly, it didn't really work that way for me. I was getting around 28-40FPS, depending on the map. Sometimes, like looking at all of RWZ, it'd dip to like 15-18. Turned off V-sync and...
On Live, I went from 50ish FPS to 100+
On Test, 28-40 to 60ish. -
Turn V-Sync off. I'm on a 295 and with V-Sync off, it changed my world.
Still having some slow down in some places, but I'm messing with a bunch of settings.
But, seriously.... turn V-Sync off. I have gotten no vertical tearing. -
Quote:I got yelled at once in a movie theater for talking during a Pepsi pre-show-commercial.The cutscene is like a commercial at this point: I've seen it a million times and it interrupts my fun. I don't berate people for talking during commercials.
True story.
I feel like this is what is happening here. -

As an American, losing a President in this day and age to accident or violence is unthinkable. Our sympathies go to our Polish friennds.

Quote:I signed up.
First thread I clicked on was one where members were posting pictures of their penises.
I logged out.
Not my cup of tea.
Like I told DK:
Go to Warburg where we actually discuss things. The Rogue Isles section has it clearly marked as "Abandon all hope;" that is where all the goofy, irreverent things (including showing body parts) goes. The rest of the board is quite nice. -
More than anything, I'd really like to see extra back options. A jetpack that has variable Sky Raider or Longbow visuals, etc.
Something I was also thinking of: raised visuals, like spell glyphs that hover just a few centimeters over your arms or hands. -
Fight a Warhulk with 6 stacked Veng's.
Then I will use my [Irradiate] and [Neutrino Bolt] and laugh at their defense buff.
Edit: Also, -def, as stated, has great IO potential. On my rad/rad/power "AV Killer" I can drop my debuffs and autoclick Neutrino Bolt, which has the -res proc and the armageddon proc in it. Hit LR whenever it's up and that AV will go down in no time at all. Make's Reichsman, Honoree, and Lord Recluse laughable. -
-
That's funny to me because I also visit the other, less serious sections where we get into all sorts of trouble.
I can see how that would dissuade you. But, I urge you to check it out. -
^_^
DK, I would recommend joining and going to Warburg. We discuss things frankly and nicely, with little hesitancy and with a lot of respect. Occasionally we get a little rowdy and snarky, but that's only by like page 6 or 7. And it's always with people who know each other fairly well. I am quick to call shenanigans, but even quicker to give a bravo for a good idea or philosophy. -

Look, man, I'm not telling you again! It's a coat and tie bar! And is that a nipple suit!? GET OUT!

I feel like this picture didnt get enough laughs. Well done, Ozzie.
I Unleashed because I dropped by and recognized cool people like Westley and Ozzie and Blood, who have always made me laugh over here. Now, I get to see them Unleashed and Uncensored.
We're making a tape. -

Come on War Witch, you know you want him back!
Well, of course she does!
She is a ghost and can't touch him. I mean, you know Apex loves her forever, but... not being able to touch. Unless she's a ghost from Ghostbusters... then... you know. -

Devs are doing good. I applaud them.
Having said that:
*popcorn* -
Can Man.
Crap, Westley beat me to it.
You know what I've always imagined? That the Can Man is actually the original Count Crey, who the Countess used her abilities to make mushed eggs of his personality.
