  1. Aye, I am having similar problems, my first...okay, second reaction, (first being "ooh look, new zone load screens) to I20 was "omg, my chat window is fat!

After reading some of the tips here it sounds like I can minimize that a bit.. But here's hoping they let us scale its width as well, as it takes up far too much of the screen.

Then there's the "classic" party UI, still needs some work (and its not 'classic', what lies!)

I dunno if I'm the only one, but I can't tell the difference between a dead team mate, or one that is not in the same map. They both appear as a greyed out name, the only way for me to tell is to toggle the ally-buff portion of the window and see if they are listed in another zone or not.. Which is tedious to say the least.
  2. Aye, did some in-game testing as was suggested, and looks like most are Mag 3.

So whats the mag 2 protection in Acro even good for? Little meager holds by minions?
  3. Hiya folks, quick question here..

Whats the normal Magnitude on holds that NPC's spit out?

I ask because I am tempted to pick up Acrobatics on my Fire/Kin corr to help against Holds, which has a mag protection of 2.. If that's enough to shut down at least 1 hold, I can see it being useful, but if most NPC holds are mag 3+ I'll probably pass it up.

I tried looking at Paragon Wiki and the forums, but had no luck, though my search-fu is mediocre at best.

    Vanity Powers

When I hear the term "vanity powers" the first thing I think of are powers that would do nothing else but make you look 'cooler' than everyone else. Bestow extra fancy auras, or what not..

Kinda like the "vanity mounts" in many other MMO's, that functionally are no different than standard mounts, but have unique looks about them.

I could get behind this idea, they could be locked by a badge, or accolade, of varying difficulty to obtain.
  5. I think an issue here is that for the vast majority of the game (just leveling up, pugs etc) a soft-capped brute/scrapper can pull things off well enough to make a tank feel 'defunct'. Sure they aren't quite as tough as a tanker can be, but unless **** really hits the fan, that ain't gonna mean much.

Now this doesn't tend to hold true for some of the harder TFs', and I imagine future incarnate stuff will probably widen the survival gap even further.. But for the leveling and leisurely portion of the game, ya certain soft capped scrappers/brutes could make the tank feel a bit envious..

However, one of this game's many blessings is you don't *need* a tank.. Heck you don't *need* any AT for the large majority of the game, and I hope it stays that way..
  6. I routinely use the +rch buff for all my toons that I have set up with recharge bonuses. Especially if I'm on the edge of achieving 'perma' something or the other.

I'll also use the +recov buff if my toon is END hungry.

I have a few racks by the station dedicated to storing the needed salvage (tier 3, since that seems to be the cheapest) that I keep well stocked all the time.
  7. Because it's nice to have somebody that can quickly take down a tough single target, such as a boss.. I cant count the number of times I'll be on aoe-centric team ,and the bosses are really quite a drag, especially ones like Freak Tanks. Times like that I'm wishing for a DM or something to eat them up.
  8. Nearly always female toons for me, unless I'm going for some gimicky concept that calls for a male..

The few males I do have, are totally silly concepts.
  9. "Thanks for spamming Fire Cages over my Earthquake, jackass!"
  10. Tankers: "Wont Back Down" by either Petty or Cash, pick your favorite version.

and one of Ozzy's newer songs "Let Me Hear you Scream" seems good for Corruptors/Dominators.

    Super Stunners?

Aye, and it used to be quite hefty (+20% more for Minions, and around +50% more for bosses?)

That coupled with the fact that they were incredibly easy, and rezzed was why so many people loved killing them..
  13. I will say that I was surprised that they gave the PPD LTs (I think it was them) a reasonably commonly occurring stun effect.. at like level 1.. Sure it only lasts like 1-2 seconds, but that's all it takes sometimes, especially if your'e a defender or something depending on an anchored debuff.
  14. Hmm are the people who sang the Flintstones Movie intro the same ones for Rocko's Modern Life? The male singer sounds especially like the one on Rocko's
  15. It's really quite hard to go wrong with a brute, and Fire last I checked is a pretty good primary..

As for secondary, well /WP is my favorite as an all-around sturdy secondary with lots of protection.. But doesnt bring much offense to the table..

/Shields, /Fiery Aura, /Dark Armor, and /Elec are all popular choices for adding in a bit more offense along with some defensive capabilities.. ATM /Shields is the most popular choice, but /Fiery Aura just got a big buff so it can compete once again.

Only set I would advise against is /Energy Aura.. While I haven't played it myself, I hear nothing but negative opinions on it..

I guess there's an option somewhere that I've never noticed that may have been toggled on or off that removed that cap to end up with results like you had. If there is (or was), I guess that'd be the new thing for me to learn today, hehe.

EDIT: By the way, love your avatar!
Ya, not something ive seen in a long time though.. And thank you, I like yours too^^

Well that's good to know.. Should help me out quite a bit, thank you^^
  17. Well if it did used to have a cap, it was much higher than 50.. As I remember at times getting 1,000+ players returned when I did a total search-all..

50 just seems like a silly number to cap it at.. I wouldn't mind 100 much at all (since the list truncates at 100 anyways), but 50 does make me do some additional filtering that I didn't used to have to do when looking for team members.
  18. This has been bugging me since GR has been released.. Why did they seemingly cap the player search at 50?

Did they ever give a reason? Is a temporary solution to a problem, or is it permanent?

I went through the patch releases notes and saw no mention of it, and my forum searches yielded no answer as well.. So I figured I'd just ask myself.

    As Mister Horse would say;

"Hmmm... No sir, I don't like it!"
  19. I'd like to point out that TT has a wider, yet shorter cone, while NightFall is longer but less wide..

TT: 30 Degree Cone 40 Range
NightFall: 20 Degree Cone 60 Range

    (according to Mids)

Might be wise to weigh this into your play style.
  20. Two things I would love to see for our avatars..

1.) Better looking faces... Our faces worked fine years ago, but of all the bodily features in this game, they have probably aged the worse (that or the Lego hands). Every time I come back to this game from some other game, the first thing I say is "damn, our faces look terrible, you can tell its just a texture". They really look like something from the PS1 era of gaming, and I think they could use an overhaul.. Adding in facial geometry instead of relying solely on textures would probably be a step in the right direction. Perhaps even letting us choose our eye color etc.

2.) Optional reflective surfaces for near anything.. I read that this was going to be implemented with "Ultra Mode" and I was extremely excited.. Turns out its only pre-set reflected surfaces for a few of the tech costumes.. Which is still pretty cool, but I would prefer the option of choosing if *any* of my costume pieces would be reflective. Much like we can with the Valkyrie gear, and a few shoulder pads/belts.

    XFIRE sold?

I've never really used XFIRE.. I imagine it's similar to Steam, aside from the fact that Steam also lets you purchase games?
  22. I wouldn't mind this at all.. I too find myself swapping the color scheme to see which one I like the most.
  23. I didn't mind what of it I actually watched.. By around the middle of the movie (When the guy was turning into a Prawn) the movie made me extremely motion sick and I had to leave the theater.. I'm guessing it was the shaky camera work..

However I don't get motion sick in a plane, car, or even on a boat in bumpy water..
