  1. If you spell out "relationship", you lose the all-important ability to make related puns. Abandon ship, Die for our ship, Cargo ship, Toy ship.
  2. I don't dual-box or anything like that, but I do have an entire family as characters. The DeMarco family consists of:

    - Mad Bomber DeMarco (Deanna, daughter) - Ice/Devices Blaster
    - Sister Scylla (Adrian, daughter) - BS/Regen Scrapper
    - Damien D Blaze (Damien DeMarco, son)) - Fire/Willpower Scrapper
    - Bane Spider Minchew (Anna DeMarco, mother) - [take a wild guess]
    - Fortunata Hamilton (David DeMarco, father) - [actually he's only level 5 right now]

The two parents are hiding in the ranks of Arachnos with assumed names. (Yes, I'm aware that this doesn't work within canon. I don't care. Both of them will go hero in GR if that's allowed.) Damien hides his family name in his middle initial due to this, and also because he's afraid of getting associated with his older sisters, both of whom actually began their "careers" as baddies before getting forced into hero-dom.

    Otherwise:

My namesake had a sister, but she got killed by the CoT. Once GR comes out I plan to have an alternate-universe version of her, and this time the sister will live. I haven't really decided what the specifics of AT or sets will be, waiting to see what exactly GR will bring.

I have two more characters who are sisters as well, Majasusi (Claws/Will Scrapper) and Katili (Night Widow). They are very much on opposite sides of the law and will stay that way.

Ason Svivati (currently a Stone/Elec Brute) and Masrefah (Mind/Fire Dom) were part of the same sex/demonology cult a few centuries ago. They've known each other, if you catch my drift, but got into a power struggle and are now bitter rivals. Long story short.
  3. I've bought all the booster and supplemental type stuff as well, but I haven't bought them out of duty or just because. So far, all of them have had something I really liked.

Basically it would have a large number of costume pieces used by signature group (not signature character) NPCs.

Carnival of Shadows mask and Bustier, Freakshow chest detail and arms, 5th Column/Council helmet and chest details and so on.

It would be a huge costume pack which focuses on bits and pieces rather than entirely themed costumes, due to the amount of costume pieces in it there would be no emotes or special powers.
Even if I just used the KoA and Carnival outfits, I'd gladly pay for something like this.
  4. Somebody better deal. Because I'm $40 behind and I want my pants back. My luck's bound to turn around soon!

Now deal. It's drafty in here.
  5. Gah, did this have to be posted at lunch time? I've been thinking about pizza since that other thread, and was planning on having some today, but now I'm just kinda nauseous.

Yeah, I was listening to Pandora one day and heard a song by Within Temptation. Excellent song of course, so I checked out the album name. The Silent Force. "That...would be an awesome character name!" was my thought process, and I tried it that night. Taken on Virtue sadly, but it was available on Justice.

One Neurosis album has a song called Locust Star, which I also consider a prime candidate for a character name. I haven't checked that one.
  7. Nah, I'm in SW GA. There are undoubtedly many such examples all around the country though.
  8. I'm going to make a Captain Codfish right now.

Well, I'm actually not, but still, it has a nice sound. Add a little blue to the Energy Blasts, maybe, it could work.
  9. Celestial Highness
    Lord of the Celestial
    Celestial Vizier
    Count Celestial
    Lord d'Celestial

    Celestial Lord [name]

Edited: Ooh, Seastar, that's a good one. Although it does call Aquaman to mind, but aren't they trying to make him more of a badass now? By adding powers or saying he has Super Strength, something.
  10. I used to preface all reps with "Primal says:", but I've stopped giving reps at all now. Opting out of the game means not playing, period. If I have some praise or condemnation to hand out I can do it in the thread or via PM. Or just sig it, if it was really good.

Seriously, somebody say something awesome and profound so I can add it, give me an excuse to stop watching Boxxy.
  11. That picture will haunt my dreams.
  12. I've mentioned before how much a city I live near resembles Kings Row in its downtown. The buildings here aren't quite as tall, topping out around 10 stories or so only, but otherwise it's not far off. There's no inspiration there either way really, it's just that both areas happen to be ex-industrial areas that are now just run-down, with a bit of revitalization here and there.

Actually OP's pictures make me think more of Fallout 3 than Co*.
  13. It all comes down to how each player sees it. If they bother to at all, of course, I daresay there are plenty of people who just grab whatever powers they want and use them without a care.

I have plenty of Natural human characters whose more-unrealistic powers I handwave as either being "reality but quicker" or as good ol' "unexplained inner potential". Regeneration, for example, is just the natural human healing, only we're not actually laid up in a hospital waiting for it. Super Speed is just taking the fact that I need to be across town and speeding that process along, and so on. For the second handwave pretty much anything goes.

If nothing else works, you can go the route of taking the origin that covers the majority of your character's powers, even though they rely on, say, Magic, for a few. Heck, this is true in canon with Manticore, who's a Natural by and large, but uses on a bit of Tech to travel, what with tapping into a teleportation network (a handwave if ever there was one, lol). Batman is a hell of a fighter, but gadgets and science help him out. I have a Claws/Will Scrapper who's Natural, but whether she admits it or not her (storyline-discarded) magical shadow-shielding ability helps a bit, which I show in-game by giving a couple of defense powers a slight purple tinge.

Ninja Run is a power I'd use for a Natural under the "sped-up reality" excuse. It beats taking the time to walk over there and manually climb to the roof.
  14. This thread makes me think of that one Garfield (animated version) episode. He's met a group of people who all agree on everything, and finally after getting fed up he offers pizza. Immediately they all start fighting about the toppings. He's not surprised in the slightest.

My favorite pizza would be a double-decker or stuffed crust, with sausage, black olives, and mushrooms.

My preferred RP is in the course of a regular mission, as opposed to standing around in Pocket D or under Atlas. And I'm only the audience, playing the strong silent type, because I'm really terrible at RP apart from appreciating it.
  15. Sure, she looks cute, but she's as likely to go back in time to erase you from existence, or worse, make you read slash.

You didn't even have to click twice. I made darn sure I clicked just the once and got stuck with TWO extra packs. They refunded me quickly of course so no biggie.

I'm not sure the OP's concern is something the online store could really "catch", just because of the ability to have several accounts under one master. It expects you to know which accounts have what and what's been applied to which, and caveat emptor. Although I don't think it unreasonable for the accounts to have all applied codes unambiguously listed.

Hmm, you COULD go by dates or just counting the packs too, I suppose.

4 "perk"s = 4 boosters bought. The last Retail is the Mac pack.

    Ninja Running

I'm too lazy to post here. ...Hmm, I might be doing it wrong, as the kids say these days.

Good stuff OP, quite useful. I still maintain that NR hits a sweet spot: not quite as good as SJ or SS, but a combination of both and nice for those non-super characters. Just what a Natural power ought to be.
  19. As I said before Sam, there ARE distinct advantages to having the "true" travel powers over the Ninja Run. For one thing, NR cannot be enhanced in any way, even for end redux or a spiffy IO. SS and SJ can. SS has a VERY useful secondary Stealth effect, SJ has immensely more vertical mobility. Ninja Run is at best a halfass mash of SJ and SS, which just so happens to be what some people need.
  20. And as I hasten to yet again add, the GvE jump pack is anything but merely cosmetic. I paid for that, dunno about anyone else.
  21. That Jinx game is not a "thing" where I'm from, and I'm in the southern US. Never heard of it before today. Anyway, didn't Halle Berry play a character named Jinx in a bad James Bond movie?

Also: The worst name I've ever actually seen on a player is something I can't repeat here, at least without using a bunch of *s. I reported it, as did some of the other players standing around gaping.

Unfair that they're handing that around without a power pick at level 4 in a paid booster pack. On of the BIG things with Booster Packs is that they've had anything that gave any real, big gameplay benefits, and this does.
Apparently it lacks the very useful stealth of SS too though. It seems quite analogous to the GvE jump pack to me. I know quite a few people have posted saying they've either forgone travel powers totally or actually taken Super Speed where they haven't before, just because the pack adds that all-important vertical mobility. I grant you that GvE wasn't a booster, but this is hardly THAT game-changing. Ninja Run is not AS fast as SS nor does it have the stealth, it doesn't have the height of SJ, or the utility of flight. And it provides no particular combat advantage for the vast majority of people.

...Oh my, the ring-pommeled broadsword people were clamoring about in that other thread, that BAB avoided mentioning....
  23. Done. I have far too many ninja-themed and -inspired characters not to pick this up, not to mention my many other Natural characters who it'll fit well. Very nice.
  24. If the leader leaves, and someone else takes up point, I hang around usually. When no one wants the star, that means the group has run its course and it's time I said my goodbyes as well.

I can't stand leading teams. Makes me nervous, puts the pressure on me to do well.
  25. Would dearly love that Knife of Artemis. Unlockable or handed out, either way is cool.
