  1. Don't forget assault rifle. You could also do an ice/electric blaster or defender and color the electric powers green.

I have started doing similar recently. The only difference is that I just take the bosses down far enough for SC & FB to finish them off. It is truly insane damage.

Edit: When I am farming for purples (-1x8, no bosses) I stick with SD>FB>SC. Very rarely is anything standing after that.

I know what you mean. It will be nice when I can eventually tint it to a dark blue to match my other powers.

    DM/Shield Build.

I have a 50 DM/SD/Blaze that uses a build close to one of the ones that Santorican posted in another thread. I am not finished with IOing him out, but even now he is a beast. As far as AoE goes, I have all I need: Jump in a big group -> Soul Drain -> Fireball -> Shield Charge -> Look around at all the carnage.
  5. I have to pick up my wife from work at 4:00. If you are still looking for more by the time I get home and signed on (about 4:30), Penumbral Guard (DM/SD Scrapper) will be more than willing to help. He is 1/2 a bar from 49, so he will probably be 50 come the 31st.

    Rad/NRG Advice

I have heard that Rad/NRG is a good combo. I have played it up to lvl 14 and have liked it so far (it is the only thing that has been able to pull me away from my scrappers lately). What is some general advise you guys can give me. What powers should I get ASAP, what can I skip, good attack chains, etc. Thanks in advance.
  7. Grats to EE for making the Top 10! The CC was great, even if the Clockwork Paladin kind of crashed the party. It was probably the best organized CC I have seen.

Oh, and many, many, many thanks for picking me (Bronze Guard)!
  8. Good job! I am hoping to join the club soon. I just need to get my DM/SD up to 50 and then IO him out.

So very true. I am curious about Blaze Mastery. It may be just what I am looking for. We shall see.
  10. Thanks guys. That helped to clear things up.
  11. I would like to get more AoE attacks into my DM/SD. It looks like Darkness Mastery has 2, while the others only have 1. The thing is, I never see anyone talking about Darkness Mastery. Almost everyone seems to take Body Master. Why is this (I will admit, shooting lasers out of your eyes is just cool)?
  12. I have decided to level my DM/SD up to 35 and then choose. I am really looking forward to this. I have really been enjoying scrappers.

    Nope, I am on Guardian.

Dark Consumption isn't a reliable enough source of endurance to meet my needs; in non stop fights it isn't up nearly often enough, even with hasten on, so I wouldn't use that as the chief criterion. My DM scrapper is DM/SR, and I ended up getting all three of the +recovery and +end IOs to make that character more inviting to play.
I agree with you on dark consumption. I view it as a bonus. Parry make insanely easy to softcap melee defense - when I can remember to use it. I have taken to just putting it on auto. Looking at the two characters it does seem that my DM/SD will become a monster damage wise. How does BS compare in that department?
  16. Thanks for the advise. What on the wall drops purples? I farmed there for the first time today and all I saw were minions and lts. Is that all there is? If so, great - my blaster chews them up like nobody's business.
  17. I have 2 scrappers that I have been working on lately. One is a lvl 35 BS/SD and the other is a lvl 26 DM/SD. I want to make one of them into my new main. The problem that I am running into is that I can't decide which one to focus on. Normally it would be easy, because I would just choose the one that is more fun to play. I can't do that in this situation because they are both a blast to play. I want to focus on just one so I can pool my resources and get it completely IO'd out. I come here looking for opinions on the potential for both characters. What would be the general pros and cons of each one, etc?

On a slightly related note, I can use some advice on how to go about raising funds for the eventual IOs. My only lvl 50 hero is a fire/fire/fire blaster who I shelved not long after hitting 50. I have less than 50 million spread out across all my characters on the server. And advice will be greatly appreciated.
