All that said, yesterday night [01/19/10] sucked. I don't know if it happened in all the zones, but SC got Mapserved, I guess around 9ish.
Loads were slow, and I don't mean the bar moving, I mean to start.
Also different stuff loads at different speeds. One toon of mine is in a mega-SG that has decorations stacked to the ceilings. It takes my computer quite a while to load all that crap. It's also ugly as sin to move around in, and I have my graphics slider all the way right and it suffers from pop-up.
Differnt people/time/mish/etc different load times. I tend to load fast and wait for everyone to get in. -
Quote:Yes yes, do that. Num num num num.I usually post everything 0-1mil inf items for just 1 inf because it really doesn't matter that much anymore.
If I ever see no bidders on an item, even if it's a 20m inf item, I always bid 1 first. Works great. And speaking of supersticion, 5555 works great to nab stuff. Though my favorites are 777 and 7777 when harvesting for flips. For picking up salvage I love using 666.
Recently, and granted Blood Mandate is the red-headed stepchild of sets [though cheap to craft], I picked up the whole set for 116 inf. 1, 1, 1, 111, 1, 1. Phantasm is happy. -
Re: Losing Stamina
Even if you can't attack, if you're at the def cap, you can stand there and wait. [depending on the enemy] -
Cause I'm sick of making toons trying to figure it out. Fire does. Dev, just throwing the web greneade with the other hand causes redraw.
I'm no blapper, but I like using my secondary at times. The redraw seems to take the power from my toon. -
I saw a piece of salvage normally worth dog fecal matter but it had gone out of supply totally. There was 1 for sale and 230ish bidding. I quickly upped that to over 400 bidding and I'll see how that went when I get on tonight.
Hopefully, I destroy the economy and all the wee bairns cry. Everyone will think it normally sells for six digits. Muah ha ha ha.
Or I get burned. -
If there are 35 bidding and zero for sale, the last five were about the same price and spread across a week, you can post whatever low number you'd like and it will sell for about the price of the last five.
If there are 35 for sale and no bidding, and the last one sold in November, regardless that it sold for 40m, you're screwed. Nobody wants it. It hurts to NPC an alledged 40m recipe.
Fulmens is straight on, though I'm a little more wasteful. I type 123 in half the time and 90% of the time I get approx what the average of the last five is. 10% of the time I don't, maybe 5% I get screwed, but not for much.
[off topic rant]
That said, the worst I've been screwed in this game, money wise, is merits...I dont' understand why/how you guys love them so much. I've only wasted a few 100 merits on junk [bronze 35-40, as everyone suggests] and I get crap. -
I have three market-only toons currently. One is primarily a crafter but will jump on flipping when needed. One is a flipper but will craft when a good opportunity arises. And one is special projects.
I think the crafter makes around 300m a week. The flipper, uh, much less, probably 150m, I can't tell. In the last week, special projects toon has spent about 400m. She is totally ineligibile to hit the 1b tophat goal as she mostly spends other people's money, though she usually carries around 500m on her.
Since I started marketing, I am just setting out my toons. Though I intend to make the flipper a billionaire by...oh, maybe middle of February.
I have a feeling that I'm not the best at marketing, but I find it fun and a challenge.
Re: Flipping is evil on the game economy and puts down the little man. Hell, the little man can bid 7k on something sellign for 30k and wait an hour just like I do.
I need to get brave enough to flip Tier 3 salvage...or just find a niche. And every time I go for the get-rich-quick purple recipe crafting, I ge burned. Usually for only around 30m...but it's money I could have used making more while it just sat there a week before I marked it down. -

Quote:I thought the perception part of stealth supresses in combat. If you're not in combat, what good is the defense. You have defense for what you're not hit with? Or only the first strike?Stealth suppresses in combat, at least partially, and that includes the defense values. So, you may not be quite softcapped there. Not a huge deal, just sayin'.
Also, my build is probably based on bits and pieces and choices I've seen in a dozen other builds, so no need to credit me. I probably need to credit a half dozen people myself, at least.Rip away!
Lewis
I'll have to check my combat attributes and get in trouble. It doesn't make sense that the def would be gone once in combat. -
I bought a new video card.
It wasn't the deciding factor, but it contributed to the purchase. My cheapo 9600 GSO also fixed the dorky water reflection error too. THAT really bugged me. -
Break frees is right.
Or be Willpower, I think dark has Obsidian Sheild, etc. [different archetype and powerset iow] -
Quote:Word. The rules of the forum are you have to post your own build for us to mock before we can offer assistance, which we will then present by ignoring what you posted and saying "here's what I use on mine."
If you haven't downloaded Mid's, do so. Then browse the set bonuses. On the cheap, one of my big favorites are Entropics. 6.25% global rech and the whole set is a fraction of LotG7.5.
Everyone loves Positron.
Frankenslotting is not only more bang for your slot [not buck] but is quite pretty if you get the right ones. Baskilisk, etc.
Get a Karma -KB. If you have end problems, then pick the IOs in the set that address that. Put range in your cones, if energy has cones.
And most importantly, when someone suggests a seventeen billion inf build, feel inadequate.
And not too many procs or you're a psycho. -
This isn't really a suggestion for the OP, but it could be. This is a blatant rip-off from Unicycle where I'm incorperating my Rabbit Ghost's flavor of theme.
Rabbit is a ghoster. She ghosts missions so she needs recall friend and stealth. She doesn't take super speed, as I slam into walls, so I already have a Unbounded Leap +Stealth [a level 15, so I could slot at 12, try to get that freakish thing.]
When I get home, I'll look at TDL's since it's supposed to be cheap. And cheap is what I need.
Two big questions on this:
(1) Can it be made cheaper?
(2) Can it be made better? [by moving slots, etc]
Thanks.

I do +1/0 AV. Why why why would anyone not want having AVs?
Now, a question:
What does the second number do? I know what it means, but what does it do? -
-
Capes - Level 20+ mission you can pick up from the gal in the center of the govt building in Atlas [ I honestly can't remember the name now]
Auras - Same but level 30+
Winter Stuff - Get candy canes and trade them in with that creepy elf near the fireplace in Winterland. Easy way to find him is get on the roof and fall down the chimney. -
There is also a Valkery helmet which is similar, but more cartoony. You can buy that pack in the store for $10 and it also comes with an additional gimmie power, like mission door teleport, etc.
Finishing ITF gets you the entire Roman outfit which has some great chest details that cover the entire torso. Great for layering in winter. -
Justice? I thought Tanker Tuesdays were in Champion. I just made a WP/DB on Champion for this.

Quote:Mutant Store in SC ftw.If you have a lowbie who needs starter cash, KR is the market closest to a vendor. Buy a bunch of stuff for 10 or 100, and then sell it to the vendor. Running back and forth is quicker in Kings than anywhere else.
Though it might be irritating if you haven't picked up a raptor pack or Ninja Run, or hover/fly.
SC has that store and crafting at the university.
Talos has a reasonably close store, but a lowbie might get killed getting there, and a sg portal for crafting. It also has nice seagulls in the background. The walk from the WW to SG and Train is protected by Police Drones, so any toon coming in on the green would be safe. Though most of mine come via the WW Tp. -
Re: WL
The difficulty is dynamic. I've talken a level 5 in there and only gotten wiped out a few times. The reason for teaming is...I guess to have your hp spread bigger or something?
I've also taken a 2 into a zombie fest and didn't die once.
I don't see the point in teaming for that.
Teaming for Rikti, that's another matter. Badges. -
Quote:Tested the waters from Monday to Tues with Runes. Bought ten at 7,777 and placed them at 77,777. They sold, all ten, for 1m each. Whatever. In this game, buyer sets the price, not sellers. I have listed many things that sold for 10x+ the price I asked
. I especially like the 10 candy canes I listed last night for 50K each and got 1 million each for them.
I'm starting to watch any salvage that has less than 70 selling. I'm not sure I'll really try anything with Candy Canes...I don't want a mess up like I did with the four Halloween costume salvage for another costume slot. That was only a loss of around 4-10m, but it hurt. -
But wouldn't getting a recipe from merits come at the level of the toon, thus adding new IOs to the market?
To replenish the missing midlevel IOs to the market, by the very nature of being in low supply, should have a good price. Supplying the market with lame IOs no one really wants is not my goal.
I think plenty of us found how difficult to obtain the desirable IOs was when we were building our locked toons.
I think with the "I don't understand rolls" thoughts I'm having is the same as when a grandparent says "I don't understand how computers work." I think the way it works is pretty obvious to me, but I've never really done it but once and foolishly got a piece of salvage.
Thanks, Fury. But, ugh, you copied my original text. I've been down/irritable the last few days and I think it's affecting how I'm seeing everything. -
Well, can't delete the thread, so I'll start answering my own questions with links.
