  1. Indeed, the "hero" label is applied to mobs of varying rank. Those two are just bosses.
  2. Your natural origin DA could be some kind of alien, or other creature.
  3. If your team has plowed through the first 5 spawns before you can summon and buff all your pets, does it really matter if you are not at 100%? It would appear that you are not needed at all really.

Save the fully buffed pets for the tough fights.
  4. I was perfectly happy with a Mutant origin Robotics MM, who could control the robots with psi powers. A magic MM could use a spell to control thecnology, or just decide that they where golems.

However, it is more true to say that base powersets are as generic as possible, as the devs want to give players as much room to be creative as possible. Robots are in because they are such a staple of comic book villains, they couldn't really be left out.

A powerset like the one the OP has posted would really be an EAT powerset (e.g. Crey Cyborg EAT). As a base AT the devs would rather develop somthing that fits with many different character concepts, e.g. Force Fields (which was included in the defence set poll).
  5. I play Ill/Ta, but don't PvP much. I find it is very dependant on keeping your target nailed to the spot. this makes Glue Arrow the key for PvP, you need to give it maximum recharge and slow.

Oil Slick arrow should really be slotted for damage, even in PvP it's your highest damage ability, if you can keep your foe on it. -def is good for PvP to though, since unlike Acid Arrow it is autohit.
  6. Thank you all. Since the "68" refers to the year I was born, I now officially qualify for my Grumpy Old Man licence!
  7. Agree with Standoff, it's to specific for a base AT powerset.

Through a series of medical procedures you have acquired a comprehensive set of bionic implants.

Powersets for base ATs don't specify how they work, that is up to the player to decide.

    Artic Air ???

The procs only check every 10 seconds though.

I have Contagious Confusion in AA. It's a bit difficult to tell whats going on, but CC doesn't seem to take effect all that often (unlike the confuse from AA, CC gives the purple bubble effect).

    Artic Air ???

the first thing you need to slot in AA is 3 End Rec, or you won't be able to use it.

After that, slot it with Confuse or procs (it takes lots of procs).
  10. Most undead already have -res to energy powers.

I am really sick of 'fairytale' endings when weak beats strong. Why can't strong beat weak?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay. Nemesis deletes all your characters from the Space time continuum. Bye bye.
  12. Nope, that's the real world.

In fiction, the weaker force defeats the stronger.

Strong guy beats weak guy = no story

Weak guy beats strong guy, you have a story.

How about a villain-esque co-op zone where the heroes have to help do "bad things" for a change? I can't think why at the mo, but I'm sure someone here can...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well of the Furies trial. Your objective is to become more powerful (than you can possibly imagine, natch). Not exactly a purely heroic motive.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
If they can be beaten, then how are they a greater threat? While the other side of the pond can beat us, why can't the greater threats? Simple. That's because they're not greater threats. It's a little lie to convince you that they are stronger.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You are failing to understand the laws of narrative fiction. Of course the overwhelming threat will be beaten. Unlike real life, in storyland, if there is a single one legged 12 year old standing against the entire combined might of the universe, then betting on the universe would be a bad idea. I'm betting against the Daleks tomorrow.

In the fiction of the game, it is always your character who makes the difference, if your character hadden't been there, all would have been lost. This is true for every character, hero or villain.
  15. And if the timeline is disrupted, your villain won't even be born.
  16. Spliting the game was a achnowlaged mistake, made under pervious management.

There are insufficient resourses to develop significant amounts of content that will be seen by less than half the playerbase.

Co-op content is the way things have to be, like it or not.
  17. Castle didn't say flat out that blasters would never get an MA type secondary, just that it's not something they are considering at the moment.

    [ QUOTE ]
While Dual Pistols is something we've got on the books as something to do at some point in the future, Martial Arts as a Blaster Secondary has never been discussed or designed. Is it possible? Sure. There are a whole lot of other powersets in front of it in the queue, however.

    Lift & KB sets

Indeed. Slotting a KU power with enhancements wont just knock things higher, it will help to overcome KB resistance.
  19. Oh yeah, you could make your Pulse rifle a Plasma Rifle, doing energy + heat damage, and include one or 2 -regen secondary effects.
  20. Acid Arrow isn't a particularly strong debuff, and its AOE is tiny, and it also does damage. It could go in instead of Build Up.

Oh, and TA Poson Gas Arrow is a damage debuff, with a small chance of a very brief sleep.

    Try this version:

    1) Entangling arrow - immobilise w/ slow
    2) Flash Arrow - AoE -perc/-acc
    3) Arrow Jab - melee high lethal damage
    4) Adhesive Arrow - AoE slow (10' radius)
    5) Acid Arrow
    6) Freezing Arrow - ST Hold, moderate cold DoT
    7) Oil Patch Arrow - AoE slow/knockdown (ignitable) (8' radius)
    8) Shocking Arrow - ST stun, -end, -recovery, minor energy damage
    9) Sleep Gas Arrow - large AoE sleep

    Lift & KB sets

Nope, Knockback knocks the target directly away from the player, Knockup knocks the target up the z-axis of the game.

However knockdown is exactly the same as knockback, but with a magnatude less than 1.

Knockup powers are rare, powers like Ice Slick do knockdown.
  22. Yeah, Mirror Spirit is more interesting to fight. She really does have th cool liquify teleport from the vid, and she uses it to pop around all over the place.
  23. Yeah, you could certainly do a toned down version of Oil Slick, call it Oil Patch.

Glue Arrow would also need its radius decreased to conform to blaster secondary norms.

The two that wouldn't need changing, the OP seems to have inexplicably left out: Acid Arrow and Ice Arrow.
  24. Eh, no, you are completely missing the point.

No one is saying OMG perma-ML is essential.

They are saying they want to have perma-ML for the benefit of thier non-SoA teammates.

That is why we assume you don't team, because you are only thinking about the potential benefit of a power to your own character, not for the team.
