  1. Actually I can do this if you catch me in game later tonight or tomorrow @shinobu or @shinobu valentine
  2. Nice try. I almost thought of maybe smiling.
  3. Fulmens can do it.

I probably could if I moved money around. Right now at my parent's for the weekend, so all I have is my laptop... so it's a bit more difficult for me, as I can only log one character at a time.

    Merry Christmas!

He's not stating that it is merry, he's merely wishing that you have a merry Christmas.

    Apparently in vain.
  6. Take a stale game and place it on a cookie sheet. Now run around it at ninja run speed. The heat generated will bake out the staleness.

    True story.
  7. Hey, that's a really good idea. ^_^
  8. Are you on Freedom? I have some there.
  9. An exploit of rikti communications officers?
  10. Cow-Flop and the All-Beef Patties would make a good band name.

On the first item, mentioning 'key powers', I would certainly agree with those four but would also add Tough Hide. Tough Hide gives a significant amount of defense and costs zero endurance.

In the second quote, in order to reach 90% resistance to smashing/lethal damage, you need the power 'Tough' from the Fighting Pool.

And definitely post your build, ideally using a build planner, so we can see all powers and slots and the levels you took each power at.
Heh, that's true. I'm at work, I only remember that my tanks are always at 90% S/L resist and my scrapper is capped at 75%. I tend to forget exactly how I got there, without being able to log into the game or check my build.

That said, an invulnerability build really should take tough. Much as I hate to claim any pool powers are essential, your life as an invul tanker is much improved by having tough, as well as weave if you want to softcap S/L defense.

The thread I linked is a very helpful guide, which I used on my own characters.

Also of use is to learn to monitor your key resists and defenses... which again, I probably can't explain how to do well without being able to log into the game to see what I'm talking about.

This is a very typical slotting that I see in a lot of builds, I assume it's one of the best 3-slot options.

  14. You ought to have 90% resistance to smashing/lethal damage if you have the right powers properly slotted, plus decent resists against many other types of damage. As stated, you can use enhancements to also build in 45% defense to smashing/lethal damage. This is what is called "soft capped" defense, because (as I understand it) an even-con minion will have the minimum 5% chance of hitting you at that point.

The Tanker or Scrapper forums can explain better how to soft-cap smashing/lethal defense for an invulnerability scrapper or tanker. I've done this with 2 tankers and with a scrapper, and I can verify that even my scrapper can stand in a sea of smashing/lethal damage enemies (Council, for example -- and by "sea" I mean more than will actually aggro onto me, some will stand around ignoring me because I'm at the aggro cap) and not be in any real danger of dying. Against other enemies that do other types of damage, she is still very tough, and this is even more true of my tankers.

    NPC's IO sets

In NPC parlance, a "unique" IO means "I'm the only danged person in existence who has one."
  16. People are actually using AE? When, oh when, will they learn?
  17. The good: Ran with Flaming Cowgirl and Greased Wheels on a 3-person fire/rad team. Went from 6th level to 12th. Earned maybe 1400 tickets in AE.

The really good: Rolled a Regen Tissue +regen and then a Karma KB Protection, both level 12, off bronze rolls.

The bad: I dun wanna sell 'em. I think I'll slot both of them eventually, once I have Health and... Stealth, I think.

So I'm not helping anyone else out with my new fire/rad... yet anyway.

Yeah, but I want to solo on this character... and soloing on a tank is pretty mind-numbing. ^_^ Even WITH shield charge, I suspect.

Anyway I took the above advice and decided to recreate the character on Virtue so I could PL him up a bit first. Sitting at 15 this morning, still working on it.

You've just never heard good metal with accordians. And yodeling.

Well okay, I'm not sure about the yodeling part. But several very good folk/viking metal bands use accordians.

Korpiklaani uses accordians (unofficial Pinnacle Theme Group?)

    So does Turisas

You don't have to start from scratch. PM me or shoot me a tell via my global if you're interested.
Having done this with my own characters, yes.

And having done this with my own characters... I don't know why it didn't occur to me to do this with my own characters....

Ah well, I still have a 42 blaster on Freedom so I probably could PL myself a little there too... or maybe just begin again. As the Spinal Tap song goes.
  23. No snow here in Seattl... hey, wait a second. Why are half the people replying to this thread from the Seattle/Tacoma area?

It pretended to snow last Sunday for an hour or so. Nothing that actually stuck. We had two weeks where it was so cold that it couldn't snow, then it warmed up and snowed for an hour or three until it was warm enough to turn into rain. Now it's back to our usual weather... wet, mostly cold, but rarely freezing.
  24. Also, inspired by the fact that I keep trying to read "Midlevel" as "Medieval", I created a broadsword/shield knight named Medieval Crisis.

I also briefly considered "Midlevel Medieval" or even twins where the second was named "Medieval Midlevel".

But it kind of makes me sad because I can't imagine Medieval Crisis as anything other than a broadsword/shield scrapper, but I wouldn't want to level as high as 35 so I'd never get shield charge. Also, I believe shield is a late-blooming set, not the best choice for a midlevel character.

But I still had to make him.
