Level 50 broadsword/regen scrapper, with an armored knight look that I've always liked. Newly arrived to Justice.
I suck at names. Usually when I create a character I'm not even thinking of a name. I start with a look or a particular power set that I want. The times when I think "I should create a ballerina with martial arts because of all the high kicks and spins, and I'll name her Nina Ballerina after an obscure ABBA song" are pretty rare. More often, I think, "I want a broadsword/regen scrapper" and "I want her to look like a knight", and then I'm stuck at the name screen and I type in "Jennie Justice" for no other reason than I'd previously named a fire blaster Jennie Bomb (which was a reference to a cd by the Sahara Hotnights, and which I believe is a slight nod to the song "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways).
(I get a lot of names from song titles.)
So I've recently been moving characters around to different servers. I mostly play on Virtue, but I also play on Freedom. I moved an old fire/axe tanker to Freedom purely so I could participate in hami raids and other high-end content there. I rarely played this character on Virtue.
Along the way I've either forced name changes for a few characters or been forced to change names that I would otherwise have kept. "Jalia Genie", a rather dumb name, became Jade Princess. "Jalia Dragonfire", another rather dumb name, became Black Unicorn (a song title), which is not necessarily a great name but probably better than before. "Miss Avalanche" was a good name for an ice tanker, but I was forced to change it, so I went with "Sleeping Sun" (Nightwish song title... it makes sense if you think about it, plus it's an awesome song).
The above character was Jennie Justice, a name I didn't particularly like but didn't hate. I decided to transfer her to Justice server as I don't play her that much and she'd be ideal for joining a hami raid. This being the Justice server, the name "Jennie Justice" was actually already taken. But this gives me the opportunity to give this character a much better name.
I need something appropriate for the virtuous knight that she obviously is. ^_^ -
To be honest, I only noticed the sort feature a few months ago (or, at least, only started using it a couple of months ago). You can select to only view things for sale, or only view things that people are bidding on, or to show everything. It can be very helpful. ^_^ I wonder how many people never notice that?
-
End Game would make a nice character name too.

/em summons Golden Girl to explain how it's not a problem since she only has one character.
/em wonders if the name "Big Bag of Hit Points" is already claimed. -
BTW didn't mean to ignore you, I'm mostly marketing with my Justice toon at the moment. I've been working on a scrapper on Freedom, splitting time between that and my Midlevel Crisis toons and occasionally playing my level 50s on Virtue. ^_^
You know, the usual altitis. -
Since I'm not a spreadsheet type of person and I'm suspicious that I've vastly overestimated how much money I rake in in a given week, I logged in all of my marketing toons last night and noted how much influence / infamy they actually have at the moment.
So by next Thursday I'll have an idea of what I can make in at least this specific coming week. ^_^ Gonna report my results here.
One thing is, on some toons I've priced crafted IOs at a price that is too high to sell right now... but my standard policy is to just leave them up until they sell. That's an advantage of already having plenty of cash and having more than a dozen different marketing toons. ^_^ It usually works out eventually. -

Quote:Based on what we've seen of Praetoria so far... they'd have mirrored armor, or something....I have a question?
Praetorian Epic ATs!
We know that the normal EATs can only be made in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. (Because Arachnos doesn't official exist in Praetoria and... um... There isn't a Kheldian War going on, I guess...)
So would there be Praetorian Epic ATs? -
In my experience the "check name" function works from the character selection screen, but NEVER works from the character creation/naming screen. When I try it at that point in the character creation process, I ALWAYS get the message that the name cannot be checked -- even if I've checked it just a minute before from the character select screen.

Quote:Ah, so you're a bagel man! There's a new AT, the Walkie-talkie toaster. They're technology origin. Primary power is muffin assault, secondary powers are toast armour. They have the inherent "would you like a piece of Toast?" which causes all their primary powers to have a chance of causing confusion or anger in their targets.
Their small statue is already factored and they get a +10% bonus on any defense based buffs...
In actually answer to the questioned question...we have no idea...we could get the Spy AT or we could get nowt...I'm hoping for the Walkie-Talkie toaster AT for bother sides though.
My question for GR is: If GR was a tree, what kind of tree would it be? -
I think I vastly overestimated how much I make a week. Or maybe I tend to price stuff high, knowing that I'm only going to check back in a week or so, so that when I check back in 2 or 3 days only, I have a lot of stuff still for sale.
I think I collected over a billion last Saturday when I checked on all of my toons, but I doubt I'm going to make anything like that much this week.
On the positive side, on Saturday I moved an old level 27 scrapper from Pinnacle to Justice (seeing as Justice is the 3rd largest server and I don't play on Pinnacle anymore, I thought it'd be nice to have a mid to high level toon on Justice). This was a VERY old character, last played probably before I-5, so I had 162,000 influence to my name (and no one on Justice to borrow money from). But by Tuesday night I'd broken 100 million. ^_^
DM/Invul, so I worked up a build that softcaps smashing/lethal, and now I need to raise somewhere between 600 million and a billion to make it happen.
(Yeah, I could do a market transfer but it's fun to try to work up the money from scratch.) -

I was seriously wondering if you guys were planning a raid 6 months ahead of time...

Quote:And how about...
* ALL missions now have cutscenes.

I think Steelclaw could do an entire comedy thread just on what you'd see in various cut scenes.
Imagine, for example, the cut scene for one of the hydra missions: 15 seconds of hydra monsters growling incoherently at each other. -
Remember that generalities are generalities. I think it's true that I have a higher percentage of bad or odd pick up group experiences on Freedom, but I've also been on some fantastic task force teams there.
Meanwhile, I have friends on Virtue who are all about powerlevelling or smashing your way through a TF as fast as possible. Last night we ran a level 34 respec trial in under an hour, and I'm pretty sure that includes them logging in to start it and logging out after it was over. No time for RP -
I can't think of any toons that I've specifically written how they know each other into their background... well, that's not true, on a couple of servers that I don't play on very much I created a lot of alts to fill up supergroups I created there; so on one server I have a lot of heroes with the last name of Rojo that are all related somehow to my main toon there, and on another server I have several toons who also share a last name with one of my main toons on that server.
But in general my toons don't necessarily know each other. Which doesn't stop them from giving each other money and items on a regular basis. -
I actively market with about 12-15 toons to make money. Many of them I log into once a week or even less (it's a pain to log in so many toons just to market). Usually I can count on pulling in, say, 80 mil to maybe 250 mil per toon once a week, so I suppose at a bare minimum I'm making 1 billion a week, spread across various toons. Probably closer to 2 billion a week. One toon is Virtue redside (my only villain marketeer), two are on Victory and one is on Freedom, the rest are blueside Virtue toons.
I do find many ways to spend my money though. ^_^ -
When it came to the Abandoned Sewers, I just sidekicked to a level 50 on my second account and strolled down to where the plaque was. ^_^
On your own, yeah, impossible. But the SSK system allows you to do it when teamed with a level 50, no matter what other zone they might be in.
Otherwise, yeah, I've done this. I can't remember if I was as low as 10 or below, but certainly by my early to mid teens on a recent character.
I also did this on my level 20 or so character created for our Midlevel Crisis team last month. The reason was, I was on a pick up group and the leader called me a "badge *****". When I asked what he meant, he said that it was highly unusual to see someone below level 25 that already had 49 badges.
I thought that was such a stupid comment that I went out the next day and collected every exploration/history badge. I even crashed a rikti raid to get the badge on the ship. ^_^ I was at well over 200 badges by the time I hit 30. ^_^
The plaque on Monkey Island is a fun one too, but if you come in by water into the bay you should be able to pull it off. -
That's an interesting idea. ^_^

In other words, you'd get 6.6% sleep resistance for the three Tempest slots, and if you had some other sets that also offered 2.2% sleep resistance, you could have up to 11% total (2.2% x 5). If you had a sixth set that granted 2.2% sleep resistance, it would be of no benefit. But if you had another set that granted 5% sleep resistance (just for example), you would get the 2.2% x 5 and the 5% as well for 16% resistance.

Also (I only realized this recently) if you try to load a costume that has auras or some other costume option not available to you, there's a button that says something like "try to fix problems" that will allow you to load all of the costume parts that are available to you.
With mixed results, depending on how much of the costume is using special pieces you don't have. But it works well to strip out an aura or a cape for a costume you want to duplicate on a new character or that sort of thing. -
You can just ask in The Market forum, or contact me if you're on tonight @shinobu or @shinobu valentine.
Listed blueside: touch of death triple, level 28.
Luck of the Gambler: end/rech level 33. I listed it, don't know why, it'll never actually sell.
