  1. My main character back in my EQ days was a Barbarian shaman named Jalia McMarrin. I've recreated her as a defender in CoH.

Well I know it was a joke but honestly, the short-lived AC2 had options for graphic violence (lots of blood) and cartoon violence (Bam! Pow! balloons for impact). They were completely client-side of course, other people saw whatever they were set for... but it would be a lot of fun for a comic based game. ^_^
  4. The Azuria Task Force -- 30 missions featuring virtually every villain group in the game, all of them stealthable since each involves retrieving a lost item (clicking on an object).

The Herb, That Guy From Accounting Task Force: "I have a sad tale to tell to you, brave heroes. In 1987 I made a grave error -- I made a serious miscaculation in my company's tax audits that resulted a net loss of over 3,000 dollars on the final balance sheets. I discovered the error last year while checking my past audits to pass the time, and I haven't had a good night's sleep since. I need you to go back in time and fix that error...."

The City Trash Collector Costume Pack (complete with "Hey, lookit what someone's throwing away!" emote).

The Fairy Godmother Costume Pack (with magic wand emote that transforms the intended target into a beautiful princess until the stroke of Midnight).
  5. I like doing sewer runs once in a while, but mostly the 1-20 game does not excite me and I'm likely to PL myself through it because I can (yay for 2 accounts).

22+ is fun, 32+ is extra fun.
  6. Just FYI, Vidiomaps this morning is infected with a similar virus.
  7. Given that I'm West Coast and have some errands to run after work, I'm not going to be home by 4 PM. Sorry about that, you guys have fun!
  8. I didn't see anyone doing any Knives characters, and it seemed like you'd be able to pull one off without too much trouble, so I tried it:

Not sure if I'm 100% happy with the look yet but it's not far off. I made a claws scrapper (with wrist blades) first, then decided that it HAD to be a stalker (duh, of course). Maybe a character I can use for GR. Also, I decided to do a bit of a tribute to Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell:

The idea is an elite Knives of Artemis cyber-operative/assassin who's left the group and gone freelance (and possibly even crosses to the side of the law).

Needs more work though, and probably a better name.

  10. See, they could buff MA a little but if Blue Steel got any stronger it might break reality...

Actually... there are a few things. Hami raids are for levels 45-50 only. These and Rikti Mothership raids are the only regular multi-team raid events like you might commonly see in other games. Rikti invasions, zombie invasions, "Supernatural Activity" banner invasions, and giant monster fights are the only other things I can think of that might involve multiple groups (and especially Lusca the giant octopus which kind of requires a mini-raid to take down).

There are some task forces that are for levels 45-50 as well... but the main point is, you don't get to 50 and then spend the rest of your life raiding like in many other MMOs. On the other hand, at 50 all parts of the game are open to you. You can run any task force, join any mission team, run nearly any mission solo through Ourobos... and while you aren't constantly upgrading your gear, you can work towards perfecting your build with IOs and work towards badges and accolades. It's not that there's nothing to do at level 50, there's plenty that you can do.

With all the people talking about journey not destination, I'm not sure if anyone answered the underlying question, but there is NO level grinding in this game. Leveling is easy at any level. Grinding for influence or badges or recipe drops, on the other hand, is up to you... but you can get to 50 first. ^_^

This happens to me when I'm working over a build in Mids too. The problem is that your six slots left are lower-level slots so they're only available for powers at or below the level of the slot. It's annoying.

Short of starting over, the only solution is to carefully shift slots one at a time. I do this by finding the lowest level power that I can add another slot to. The slot should appear to the left of any higher-level slots. Then you remove the IO from the slot furthest right, and replace it in the slot you just added. Then you can remove the slot on the right, and your free slot has been converted into a higher-level slot that can be placed further up the level chart.

You may have to do this sort of thing multiple times to sufficiently free up your six slots so that you can place them where you want them.

The goal is speed of attack and speed of regeneration. I'm depending on Divine Avalanche as my main damage mitigation, and it sure is working well now. I am very impressed with this toon.
If you're looking for recharge, Doctored Wounds are still a relatively cheap set, despite their popularity, and especially if you slot below level 50. Although I can understand slotting 2-3 Numina's for Willpower, the extra regen and hit points are nice. My WP scrappers are mostly slotted with Numina's.

    I like Fury's build though. ^_^

This kind of a SG is obviously for experienced (even jaded) players. And if you have to say "I'm not even trolling" then you are.
  15. TopDoc got to 50 with a defender in the Iron Eagles (Justice hardcore SG). Our group was pretty restrictive, although not quite as much as this concept. I believe he mostly PuG'd also.

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=hardcore+debt

Original group was started by Catwhoorg, that was the group that Topdoc was a part of (and got to 35, sounds like he mostly solo'd up to that point). When Smurphy wanted to start a similar group we "took over" the Iron Eagles and ran it by his own (more restrictive) rules. That's when Topdoc took his character to 50.

As noted, these groups can lose steam quickly, and Smurph's version of the Iron Eagles are pretty much not active right now. But I do believe we had a few people who were in the high 20's and low to mid 30's without dying. My third toon was a Peacebringer that I had gotten up to 19 or 20 and is still in the SG and not dead yet. ^_^

Sister Power (using the old Super Reflexes graphics) makes her stand against the Malta Group. Note the platform go-go boots...one of the fun things to do with MA is to use costume options to make the foot look more weapon-like. Beast claws, hooves, platforms, oversized boots, a peg leg, robot legs, rocket boots...all kinds of fun stuff with which to kick people in the face. It's like weapon customization for MA!
Shinobu's main costume has rocket boots actually (that's why they're mentioned in her bio). Never tried a pegleg MA before, but the idea itself amuses me. I might have to swap a costume out temporarily just to try that. ^_^

I should use platform boots somewhere too. As you might have noticed I'm a bit overly fond of the kickass schoolgirl look. Kinda like Josh Whedon I guess.

    Your welcome

As I noted in the Market channel, I was the beneficiary of a 90 million bid on an item that was selling steadily for me for 9 million a pop.

But on the whole I think I would have preferred to pick up a Regen Tissue unique for 35,000. ^_^

Makes you wonder who has a bid in for that low though. Hopefully someone who could never afford it otherwise, and will put it to good use.
  18. I'd be up for that, on either Virtue or Freedom. (Well... in February I could travel for it too of course.)
  19. Shinobu and Tiffany

    Nina and Jalia

Just having a little fun playing with the Council
  20. Nina Ballerina, level 47 MA/WP scrapper on Virtue:

Jalia, level 49 MA/WP scrapper on Freedom:

(And yes, Tiffany is not a lot different than Shinobu, and Jalia is not much different from Tiffany... Shinobu has been one of my favorite characters to play so I kinda cloned her once or twice. ^_^ )
  21. I now have four high level martial arts scrappers. I present them to you, along with a pictorial argument for why martial arts is one of the coolest sets in the game:

Shinobu Dragonheart, level 50 MA/Invul scrapper on Virtue:

Tiffany Blackheart, level 47 MA/WP scrapper on Virtue:

  22. In the past you had to get 7 fillers to run a mission set for 8. I never engaged in the practice.

Today I can do that any time I want. In fact, I have to go talk to someone to AVOID doing that when solo. ^_^ I'm sure there are a lot of people, like me, who are taking advantage of the mission settings that did not regularly solo missions set for 8 the old way.
