On the plus side, with Acid Mortar you have a debuff that is both auto targeting and persistent; unlike most secondaries you don't need to worry about knocking your target out of the debuff.

    Waggro

Perhaps SO-AGRO, or just drop the A for easier pronunciation for SO-GRO. Aggro from your SO. I don't think "sogs" or "soggies" is a racist insult anywhere.
  3. I have a Natural Origin Earth/Storm; she's a Sidhe. She doesn't use magic - she IS magic. Command of the elements is as natural to her as breathing.

On the other hand, they do good damage and contribute to Bodyguard Mode - honestly, given Bodyguard I'd never respec out of an MM pet even if I just set them to Passive and had them follow me.

The FFG provides much better hold protection, and it does it for your pets and allies as well as yourself. Acro only provides a single point of hold protection.
  5. I'm just glad he has a job. The game will miss his work, though.

Oh, I'd like that. Especially with Tremor; it would be less silly looking than the float-and-punch-the-ground animation it now has.
  7. I don't PvP, but PvE it's one of the classic good combos. Better and worse in some ways since the rebalancing of Doms a while back; Psychic Shockwave is much less brokenly powerful, but the rest of /Psi hits harder than it used to. You won't need to slog your way to 38 before you feel capable.

Plus it can look really cool with power customization.
  8. Another open thread is the Coralax. Why did their goddess Merulina mysteriously fall silent? We really have very limited information about them.

There's also the Blood of the Black Stream, who come up in Mr Bocor's arc. What are they, and what were they planning? I know they were meant as a never-implemented Epic Archetype, so presumably the devs had something in mind.

  9. Fire/Earth perhaps. Snaptooth has no knockback protection, so /Earth should be able to dribble him like a basketball. And Bonfire will also help keep him helpless, especially in those little rooms.

I was just looking at my DP/Storm corrupter and thinking about how he'll be able to get Hurricane at 20. And I''m planning an Archery/Dark corr - who can now get Fearsome Stare at 20 without endurance problems. There's lots of good powers at 20.

Actually Brutes have higher resistance caps, the same as tanks. They just usually need external buffs to reach them, but not always; an /Elec Brute reaches 90% energy resistance on its own for example.

Same here. Especially the lowbies; they'll be much more fun to play once they have Stamina.

Or bid low and wait; it helps if you have a lot of alts since that means you can still play the game while waiting for the price to dip. And there's always the chance that what you need will just happen to drop on that alt and you can e-mail it.

The only character I have who is an actual divinity is The Lady of Wrath my EN/Dark Brute, and she's only in her 30s. A lost goddess of rage whom the CoT tried to bind, who possessed the sacrifice and slaughtered the mages; she's still not back to her full strength as a dark goddess (thus the whole not level 50 yet thing). Divine Wrath my Fire/Shield Scrapper comes close, an angel with a burning sword; but isn't even 30 yet. Also close to a goddess would be my Fire/Fire Brute Queen of the Inferno, she's "the avatar of the Queen of Hell"; but again, not 50.

My 50s are my Ill/Rad Controller Entropic Girl who brings "chaos and disorder to the minds and bodies of her enemies"; I supposed she'd be an Incarnation of Entropy like her name. And my Bots/Traps Mastermind Pain Machine who would definitely be the Incarnation of Torture.
  16. Since you are returning, here's something you may not have heard that may help you supply your characters (and has probably affected the market too). It is now possible to e-mail your alt characters inspirations, salvage, recipes and Inf. Just send an email to your global name (with @ in front of it, like so: @Obscure Blade); you can drag and drop stuff into it, one item per letter. Very useful when prices spike and your scrapper has a pet recipe that your mastermind on another server really wants.
  17. CoX is doing reasonably well in a bad economy. I doubt they will go for a radical change for fear of fear of killing the golden (or at least silver) goose.

And with Booster Packs and subscriptions they are to a degree getting to have their cake and eat it too, with income from both.

I don't know that it counts a nerf for Dark Miasma. Dark Servant has Chill of the Night, an -accuracy aura, so it actually gets something out of moving into melee range. Unlike all-ranged Phantasm and nearly-all-ranged Robotics.
  19. Obscure Blade

    So, what's left?

Archery Control, as a counterpart for Trick Arrow. Something like this (the first two pretty much have to be copies of TA powers):

1: Entangling Arrow: Single target immobilize.

2: Freeze Arrow: Single target hold.

3: Net Arrow: AoE net style immobilize.

4: Incendiary Arrow: Causes moderate fire damage with DoT on target, and can spread to nearby targets. A chain effect, like Chain Induction. Useful for lighting Oil Slick too.

5: Barbed Arrow: This painful and difficult to remove arrow disables the target for some time. Single target slow/damage & accuracy debuff power, minor DoT damage.

6: Stun Arrow: AoE stun, the bread-and-butter AoE control power.

    7: Cryogenic Arrow: AoE Hold.

8: Arrow Storm: By unleashing a massive flurry of arrows you drive your enemies into a panicked attempt to escape the onslaught. A Rain of Arrows style targeted AoE that does minor damage but causes Fear.

9: Summon Disciples: Your martial prowess has attracted fellow devotees of the ancient forms of combat whom you can summon to aid you in battle. You summon three human NPC pets, which are randomly either archers or swordfighters.
  20. Obscure Blade

    So, what's left?

Insect-control based powers. Summoning swarms to damage and debilitate the enemy.

    Earth Blast.

    Toxic Blast.

Growth/shrinking; but apparently the engine can't handle it.

    Shapeshifting to an animal.

Normally, they or banners may happen when costume parts are turned in for the extra costume slot. During the event they are apparently random.

While I am not an advocate of trying to use rewards in place of fun, it is not that the banner events are not fun enough, they're just too hard to organize and require too many people to do even if you want to.
Another problem is that they often happen in more than one zone at once, so the people who might be interested are spread out all over. It's hard to get enough people to pull it off when they are spread out over simultaneous events in Atlas, Talos and Croatoa.
  23. It's my understanding that Stalker DB is somewhat screwed up with regards to the combo system, since you normally start a fight with Assassin's Strike instead of picking whichever attack begins the combo you want. I've never played it myself, but I see that there's a recent discussion here in the stalker forums.

I haven't heard anything; sounds like either an unfounded rumor or a closed beta leak. Or both; the leak of an unfounded rumor from closed beta.

I disagree. Right now, the difference in effectiveness at low levels for /Regen scrappers (thanks to Quick Recovery) and Masterminds (whose pets have their own endurance pools to attack with) is very noticeable. They are the characters that I first turn up the difficulty for, not because they do more damage or are tougher, but simply because they don't run out of endurance halfway through fights and get killed.
