I'm asking you who you think should have been attacked and bitten by a zombie last night. Clearly you have it in for someone, because you don't think the assault on the barn should have gone so 'smoothly'. Maybe Shane should have gotten bitten, that would have been delicious irony.

Quote:I've not actually read the comics, but from what I gathered from reading peoples posts is in the comic there are more people near the barn doors when the zombies get out. In the show we see only Shane is close enough to the barn to be in danger. They open fire before the situation gets out of their control. It was clear the survivors had the advantage over the shambling zombies.Well obviously a much dumber strategy is going to be dumber. But they didn't even take the time to think about how to do it. Shane just took it upon himself to bash the barn open without considering if everyone was ready, they had the necessary ammo, and that Carl would be in a safer area of the farm when that went down.
Again, I'm specifically referring to the zombies being gunned down like nothing and no one dying. It kind of undermines the danger the zombies represent. Just makes little sense for someone to be ranting and yelling about how dangerous the zombies are and then busting a barn full of them open.
On top of that, from what I've read here and on wikipedia, Herschel has fewer children in the show than in the comic and the ones he does have are probably crucial to the up coming plot. So who should have died?
*shrug*
Quote:In a way though I wish if they were going to take them down that easily then they would take it further and realize how much dumber and slower they are and start bashing their heads in close-ranger rather than waste a bunch of bullets and make a lot of noise to draw other zombies to them. -
It's a shame that it's an advertisement for 'the game that shall not be named' because it really is an awesome commercial.

You know it might look idiotic... but too many times I've found myself covering up with a throw blanket and then having to expose my arms to flip channels.
The person behind this is a genius. -
Quote:Well obviously Zombie Sophia being the last one to shamble out of the barn was for dramatic effect, rather or not it hit it's mark is debatable. As far as Shane unleashing the zombies from the barn. Better to have them pour out of the barn in mid day light one by one and have everyone gun them down than to have the barn break open at night when they can't really see it coming and aren't prepared.I didn't really find it to be powerful so much as forced. That zombie Sophia would wait until all of the other zombies came out first made everything the writers were trying to do too obvious, which didn't help on top of the lingering stupidity of Shane ranting about how dangerous all the zombies in the barn are and then busting the place open right in front of everyone.
Quote:It was still an unnecessary risk, and it didn't even come with consequences, which takes some of the edge away from the zombies and the world they live in now.
Quote:Well shoot, was interested in your take on this season of Dexter. Everyone I know is a season behind or more and I haven't really heard anyone elses feelings about this season. I'm lukewarm to it.
Someone needs to start a Dexter thread. -
Quote:I dunno, that ending to the Sophia arc was pretty damn powerful. I applaud them for that. Although, I knew it was coming from the spoilers I happened upon in the beginning of the week. It was definitely worth watching.Yes I know they're not going to follow it exactly and I don't expect them to. It's just the departures from the comics haven't been worth the screentime they've had. I don't mind changes in the translation so long as they're good. So far they haven't been.
With all that gunfire at the farm, it is definitely no longer safe. Time for them to get a move on. Also, is Daryl hanging ears around the camp to keep Walkers away? Didn't someone else do that or something similar in the comic?
Until February. -
I am waiting patiently for Sunday night to see if the supposed spoiler I found online regarding Sophia is in fact legitimate. Regardless if it turns out to be true or not, come the 30th it is being posted. Fair warning.

Sophia does in fact play a huge part in the comics. If they end up killing her off (which seeing as she's been missing for a week without us/the viewers seeing any sign of her.) then that will be the biggest diversion from the comics yet. The other major diversion from the comics appeared last season when they introduced the CDC.
There are a couple more diversions from the comic mostly either missing characters or additional characters. Some believe T-Dog is a replacement for a character from the comics who was a total badass. T-Dog is anything but...
Also, Daryl and Merle were added for the TV show, which is kinda funny because Daryl seems to be the favorite of a lot of people (myself included). -
Taylor only tells people what they need to hear.

Quote:Fringe has been in that slot for two years now, and it's doing fine.or D) Fox will consign the show to Sci-Fi Death Slot Friday, where it will languish, and then they can say, "See? We gave it a chance, and it got even poorer ratings! We have to cancel it!"
But I'm not bitter. No sir.
I too really dug last nights episode. Taylor is such a jackass, where did he manage to get a device that just happens to transmit the exact frequency the dragonfly was attracted to without having in made by Malcolm and then planting it in Shannons cabin. I'm still operating under the assumption that the Taylor/Mira conflict is a smoke screen.
Glad to see the focus of the show move away from the teenagers and their problems. -
Quote:This is a big problem for me, if it has indeed been a week since Sofia went missing, then chances are she is a goner. Most children who are missing for more than 72 hours are not found... and that's before you factor in the flesh eating dead wandering around. That brings up my next question: Just how long have they been at the farm?
I think we've been shown four, perhaps five days at the farm, but I'm not sure. Just last episode, Carl was still laid up in bed and Lori was fussing over him before going to the 'comunity' meal. Then Glen found the barn's inhabitants at the end of the show. This episode Carl's up and about like nothing has happened (though he still has bandages), and Maggie is begging Glen not to tell anybody. Was there a few days between episodes? Or was the almost fatal wound Carl had not that hard to heal with 'proper treatement' (which they really didn't have)?
The show has kinda played fast and lose with a timeline. We know that at least 60 days passed since the start of the plague. What with how much fuel the CDC center had and had used. We don't know how long the group was on the road before they hit traffic jam. Now there's been up to a week since Sofia disappeared/Carl was shot.
On the other hand, if it hasn't actually been a full week at the least, how the heck is Carl up and moving around after a Gunshot wound followed by surgery to remove multiple bullet fragments from said wound?
Quote:Also something that has been bother me for a while. With all those trips into town, why has nobody gone into the hardware/sports store and gotten Daryl more quarrels for his crossbow? You'd think that would be a standard request of his by now. Yeah he wasted one on a hanging zombie, but they weren't smart enough at the time to cut the corpse down and get that quarrel back. Yes, it's nice that they are remembering to have him keep retrieving that quarrel, but sooner or later he's gonna have to get more because those things - even the aluminum ones - don't last forever. -
Doh! I can't believe I missed this!
I guess there's always next year.
Congratulations to Mr. and Ms. Liberty 2011! Good luck out there! -
Quote:This would make a lot of sense seeing as Rick wants to settle at the farm. Probably realizes they won't find much better than what they have on Herschels farm.2. There isn't any more government/authority. Being at the CDC, he would have had access to emergency channels not normally available to non-government agencies, and may have heard reports of other places falling to zombie hordes. Having felt a loss of hope, he wanted to make sure that Rick was not giving false hopes to those following him? Or maybe it was a warning about not going to those places, to try to help them as a last chance at redeeming himself from failing his wife?

Funny how these "loyalty" plans coincide with the release of major updates and brand new MMOs from competing game developers.
Never-the-less. I think I will ask Santa for a 3-6 month plan for CoH this Christmas.
Yeah, I'm such a tool. -
If the Sophia arc isn't concluded next week with the mid season finale, I will be really peeved.
That is all. -
They really should have given Edward Norton what he wanted to reprise his role...

Adding to this, on my Willpower/Dark Melee Tank the Vigor Core Paragon (left tree tier 4) also does not apply the Healing bonus to anything buy Rise to the Challenge and Siphon Life. My theory here is that it only applies the healing bonus to a power that also benefits from the Endurance Reduction or the Accuracy.
Powers unaffected by Vigor Core Paragon,
High Pain Tolerance
Fast Healing
Health
Possible powers unaffected by Vigor Core Paragon,
True Grit
Physical Perfection -
I REALLY want that German Shepard... I just hope it doesn't cost more than 200 points... although seeing it in action, that thing is definitely worth $10...
*sigh*
Do I want a German Shepard or Titan Weapons this month?
EDIT: Just checked, the Vanguard MVAS cost 350 points. I would be okay with paying that for the German Shepard.. but please.. no more than that :P -
I have two screenshots from right after a completed Dr. Kane's haunted mansion.

I wish to know the secret of these custom login screens as well.

Anybody experiencing no zombie spawns on the last encounter? Ran this twice in a row with no zombie spawns.
Nevermind, figured out what the problem was.. I guess having his movement debuffed to all hell is a really bad thing.. -
I can't help but notice 5 of the costumes chosen are mine, with 2 of them being of the same character (old and newer version of the character.)
This seems to unfairly increase my chances.
A simple guide line of no more than 2 costumes from the same person seems like it might need to be in place.
Just a thought.
