Quote:You may not care about internal game mechanics, but the people who work on the game do. It doesn't work for them so it won't make it to us.To me, it's a question of animation more than anything as nebulous as damage type. Take our old friend the bokutō. It's quite plainly made of wood and has no cutting edge, and, as such, should (by your lights) never ever ever ever ever be made available as a skin for Katana. And fair enough. Except...
The problem there is that a bokutō is, by definition, a sword made of wood - the name literally means "wooden sword" - and is expected to be wielded in exactly the same way as the metal slashy-slashy version. The great samurai Miyamoto Musashi (1584?-1645) killed more than one of his dueling opponents that way during his career. The animations, as it were, are the same. If you were to take a bokutō and wield it like (e.g.) a War Mace, you would very much be Doing It Wrong.
As you can see, this example leaves us at something of an impasse. Obviously, judged visually, such an item belongs with the Katana set. Obviously, judged by game mechanics, it has no business there. For myself, since I can see the power animations but the game mechanics happen behind a curtain, I'm going to go with A and leave B to go hang. A potentially inappropriate damage type is going to bother me a lot less - not at all, in fact, because I can't see it and frankly don't give a damn about that whole mechanism. -

Program needs work... -
Yes, yes people die from tasers but it's less lethal then multiple gunshot and does less damage then being beat into submission. If you struggle they will tase you again, that's how it works. Just like in the good old days if you kept fighting they would keep hitting or choke you with their leg on your throat.
Even the camera guy commented about him still fighting them off after being cuffed. I'm glad that people who wish to fight till the last can now do so without doing much harm to law enforcement agents. -
Quote:Provide some logs from after the patch so we can see your side please. You guys can tell me that heroes and villains share drop rates til your blue in the face...
I can get on a hero and farm for 1 hour and have to dump recipes 2 or 3 times...
I can get on a villain and do the exact same thing and maybe MAYBE get 10 recipes total... in the next hour.
My husband can sit next to me like he did last time... and we can run the test side by side and BOTH of us get a ton of stuff on Heroes and get next to nothing on villains.
So it sounds like because Heroes had a drop rate bobble someone looked into it... -

Quote:Heroes and Villains share the same drop rates I think.I said drop rates were messed up for villains along time ago, and no one believed me... I showed my data after playing CoH doing the same type of farming compared to CoV for hours and hours.... and HOURS.
No one believed me then. Other people also found my data back then to be true.
So what changed with this PATCH to make people finally see that drop rates for VILLAINS is all screwed up? -
I decided it was time to get a pack on my account so I went with the AE box to try and save some money. I was surprised to see it still has Magic and Cyborg but no Super Science option when you apply it to your account. All the Origin packs haves about the same thing with different flavors at the same price so why not update AE to allow new purchasers to pick from all available packs?

Quote:Maybe because the Devs prefer that if you transfer things it be done at your own risk. How about creating a bank as a means to transfer infl and items, not as a influnece creating operation.
Heroes get people to do transfers for stuff alot already, this way you will not get ripped off.
How about the idea of a bank as a means to transferyour money or stuff from one hero to one of your alts.
You take your extra influence or items and put it in the bank in account under your global name.
Then you can log on with another hero and collect whatever you want for that hero.
That way you can have starting money for a new hero or a recipe that you earned on the hero who needed it.
You earned the infl and stuff through playing the game, you should be able to give it to one of your alts if you so desired. -
Quote:Balloon weapons would need to be followed with imaginary weapons where no model is present but you still do damage.Ridiculous? Actually, it is. It makes sense as the logical extension of an argument, but when it comes to physical damage, certain things just look silly. Weapons which are intended to cut and pierce need to LOOK like they can cut and pierce. While a wooden sword may sort of pass, a baseball bat would certainly NOT. Giving, say, a mallet or a frying pan to a sword set and letting you cut with that is no less ridiculous than giving a balloon animal sword to a sword set and letting you cut with THAT.
Some things you can ignore for the sake of the rule of cool, but they still need to make sense. I can see a weapon which sparks electricity not doing electrical damage, but because it's cool and because you can have electrical sparks that don't damage tissue, but I cannot see stabbing a person with a bowling ball, say. -
Quote:Heroes could pickup Praetorian Patrons..Just now all APPs are AT-specific - a blaster doesn't get the same ancilliary powers as a tank and a Brute's powers from Mako are different to a stalkers powers from Mako.
No reason why this would change - so there's no reason we'd see a villainous tanker with any of the existing Mako powers exactly as they are, though they could have the Mako tanker powers. The devs have quite a few APPs to design/balance...
I'd been expecting a change to APPs sometime anyway, allowing all normal (non-Epic) ATs access to some form of equivalent to the patron sets and to non-patron sets. No real reason to expect that other than I'd imagine it'd help achieve some form of parity between the ATs ready for any rogue/AT-proliferation system.
I also consider removing the lock-in to a single patron on villains as a move towards this (watering down the villain APP ingame story allows other non-story driven powersets to be introduced). -
Quote:Because the game was changed in what seems to be an unintentional way if his POV is correct, and he wants it back the way it used to be.Sam, I sympathasize with your complaints against Carnie bosses, especially solo. But forgive me for saying that I think you are too tied to what used to be tenacious.
The game does give you options. You can turn off bosses, you can set them for -1, you can find a teammate, you can make your own teammate (shivan, HVAS, other temp summons), you can bring more inspirations, you can give yourself base buffs.
Those are all options available to you and that's not an exhaustive list. I have always found you to be a rational person on these forums so could you rationally explain why the game should be changed when you have so many options to solve the Carnie boss problem?
My stand is if it's not suppose to be that way fix it. If it is let us know so the less critical of us can file it away. -

Ummm...should we be telling people about the third party cheat programs?

Nothing starts a regroup better then having the overpowering force suddenly unable to fight rather they are asleep, stunned, confused, face down gathering their wits or held.

Quote:The exp you get from doing something you were asked by the staff not to is off limits. So, how do we tell which EXP belongs to us and which EXP is off limits?
And how do we take it out of the game?
See, because I pointed out that my analogy was also flawed, just less so than yours. Which means I realized that real world parallels to virtual world behaviors are necessarily imperfect, rendering your nit picking superfluous.
This is taken out of the game by bannings and level resets. -

Last year I remember at least one person being trampled to death at a Wal Mart and a man being gunned down at a Toys R Us.
