Devs please look at the Recipe Drop rate again
bad luck maybe I got dropped two purples yesterday along with a bunch uncommons and commons.
You may want to monitor it to make certain

player collected data is showing the drops are functioning with a little variation the rates for anything that is published

This really is the new "they nerfed accuracy".
For the record, at least 3 people I've teamed with Thursday and Friday got purple recipes. None for me, but they're certainly dropping.
I've got some pretty nice non-purple recipes lately though.

my lil RWZ Challenge vid
ai. Over the past week I got 3 different purples on three different avatars. Two gravitational anchors and a Ragnorak.
I've also commented before on this recipe drop perspective... here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...83#post2303183
I kinda read the thread and went... what's the big deal?. I'm not meaning to be rude or elitist about it... It's that from my point of view... I've gone 2 or 3 weeks with my level 50 characters without a single non-AV enhancement dropping. I ran through the Praetorian arc with a 46... then 47... then 48 blaster... and didn't get a single enhancement drop from any of the non-elite bosses. If there is a problem... it's certainly been going on longer than I16 has been around. |
I said drop rates were messed up for villains along time ago, and no one believed me... I showed my data after playing CoH doing the same type of farming compared to CoV for hours and hours.... and HOURS.
No one believed me then. Other people also found my data back then to be true.
So what changed with this PATCH to make people finally see that drop rates for VILLAINS is all screwed up?
I wonder...
I got a purple recipe a couple of days ago, and I got two purple recipes today. They sold for 20 million, 5 million and 50 million respectively, though I couldn't tell you what they were. Apocalypse something and Armageddon something, I think, and I've no idea what the other one was. I'm not sure I even looked.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Drop rates for EVERYONE were messed up before.
I16 made a hard to spot problem easier to spot, it got spotted and they fixed it.
Now drops seem to be working 'right' for everybody.
The only villain persecution going on is their insistence on segregated markets. which I'm hopeful GR will address...

You guys can tell me that heroes and villains share drop rates til your blue in the face...
I can get on a hero and farm for 1 hour and have to dump recipes 2 or 3 times...
I can get on a villain and do the exact same thing and maybe MAYBE get 10 recipes total... in the next hour.
My husband can sit next to me like he did last time... and we can run the test side by side and BOTH of us get a ton of stuff on Heroes and get next to nothing on villains.
So it sounds like because Heroes had a drop rate bobble someone looked into it...

79 unknown rewarding mobs?
Program needs work...
Beats me. I've gotten 3 purple drops since the patch. Just bad luck I guess.

Back on topic, I'm getting more recipe drops than I ever did before. I hadn't even noticed that the drop rate was screwy, so it's been like Christmas for me the past few weeks.
Arc #41077 - The Men of State
Arc #48845 - Operation: Dirty Snowball
Some mobs have different ranks which share the same name (e.g. a Gunslinger can be either a lieutenant or a boss rank mob). In those cases, DropStats tries to work out from the inf awarded the rank of the mob. That inf award depends on the relative level of the mob to the toon defeating it (-4 to +4), and the xp modifier of the mob type (e.g. a Night Widow awards 1.33x the xp of a 'normal' mob). Unfortunately, the inf award isn't exactly predictable -- it's often out by a tiny amount from the expected value. This means that the -4 to +4 awards for all the different xp award scales had to be collected by defeating example mobs and recording the exact inf awarded.
The patch to fix xp-->inf conversions therefor broke all the heuristic rank checks. To fix it, we had to go back and recollect all the data to get the matching inf+xp values. We did that over the weekend, Archie updated DropStats, and you can download the new version which should take the new values into account from the Dropstats page:

I swear, they really have nerfed accuracy. My scrapper is rocking a 95% accuracy rate, but the number of hit rolls I get over 95 is just ludicrous sometimes. Here's three angry smiley faces to show how serious I am about this

What gets me is NOT my streaks of misses but when the RNG streaks positively for the bad guys - when my softcapped SR scrapper is hit 3 times in a row, you know the RNG is borked.
To the OP and P_P - as other folks have noted, one mission or even one night of playing does not always make statistically significant data. If you really believe that the drop rate is borked under any circumstances you need to gather the kind of data that the community used to prove the last drop bug to the devs. We are probably talking 5-6 digit kill numbers (10,000+) in order to get decent statistics.

For some reason, I cannot access the dropstats site at the moment, but I will say that I would not have posted anything had it not been for a trend that I was noticing. I am now going to log chat and use that drop rate calculation thingy, because my drops have been few and far between as of late. I think it's borked, but have no data to back it up. I will now collect the data.
Both recipes and salvage are very close to the expected rates. All collected since the drop rate 'fix' went live |

Last night I ran an RSF and came away with zero recipes for the entire SF. We then ran a MOBSF in which we killed every flippin ambush in the final room. I got one recharge reduction recipe. I understand that drops are spread out over the team, but one common recipe across two strike forces is a little low I would say.
