When you can't go below 1hp, there's no point in avoiding any damage. There are no negative effects at all apart from a brief knockdown from any attacks that toons suffer in the tutorial. The health bar might as well just have 'INVINCIBLE!!!' written on it.
If NOT avoiding damage sent you to the hospital, maybe there'd be a lesson there.

Count me in as someone who hates the new "tutorial" as well.
A "tutorial" is supposed to be a teaching mechanism.
This thing doesn't teach squat.
It should not even be considered a "tutorial".
In my beta feedback, I listed all the things I learned by level 2 in the old tutorial, and compared them to the new... Frankly, there is no comparison. And using 20 levels worth of missions to "fill the gaps" is pathetic.
I hate this thing too.

How to move, how to target and how to level up is all you really need to know for those low levels.
Despite the lack of variety of starting contacts, the new one is better than the extra layer of vanilla the originals were and I'm glad they're gone. They manage to cover Hellions, Skulls, Vahz, Praetorian Clockwork and Arachnos in the early levels (don't know what's in Twin Shot's lv15+ arc yet). -
considering the first twenty levels of the game are relatively brain off easy, I'd agree you're basically in training for those twenty

I do agree the new tutorial is dumbed down a bit, but then again, you don't need to know too much from how to move, target and level up at that time.
You don't need to know BABs ans PS's stories, all you need to know is that they're two heroes helping out. Though I don't doubt that the Devs would probably tweak the tutorial. -

The armour pieces take colour really weirdly and it makes it a bit hard to match with other metal parts.
The flaming backpiece though is awesome, and I love the Celestial Eye Aura.

honestly, my original server (I think) was Liberty, I played there the most till I got my own account. I went to Infinity since that's where my roommate played and from there, started making my own in-game friends.

(I don't know if you know this, but the Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA Championship, and with a lockout currently going on, they could be considered the champs for quite a long while. Expect to be reminded of that almost constantly.)
