  1. The emotes I could take or leave, costume change options are always welcome, but Ninja Run is awesome. I don't even really care that it can't be enhanced. I sincerely think you need to make a less ninja-y version, and introduce it as the third power of a new power pool. It's a brilliant compromise between Superspeed and Super Jump, when both are too extreme for your character concept.

Small quibble, the Ninja Run jumping animation clips just a bit when comboed with a shield. The other arm goes too far forwards.

The costume pieces are nice, although they're not lighting me on fire. Like all of these sets, what I'm likely to do is just tear them apart and cannibalize them for other costumes. The plain robes are nice and minimalistic, I expect I can find an excuse to use them somewhere.

Oh yeah, LOVE the Warrior half-helmet with Detail 1. I've been dying for a helmet shaped like that for ages. Thanks, Jay!
  2. Well, I like it. Or I will, once we get it back. I kinda wish the male walk was a little more...dramatic? I guess this is meant for heroes and villains in their civvies.
  3. I'd settle for whatever cheat code gives dev characters access to every powerset at once, and just make a disgustingly cherry picked god build. Or something stupid fun, take your pick.

I swear, they really have nerfed accuracy. My scrapper is rocking a 95% accuracy rate, but the number of hit rolls I get over 95 is just ludicrous sometimes. Here's three angry smiley faces to show how serious I am about this

Back on topic, I'm getting more recipe drops than I ever did before. I hadn't even noticed that the drop rate was screwy, so it's been like Christmas for me the past few weeks.
  5. I don't get it. The "Stop 30 Fir Bolg From Escaping" mission never gave me that much trouble.

That said, "Get the News Out" is really nuts. It doesn't even function like other object defense missions in the game. Normally you're suppose to take out the guards before enemies come to destroy the objectives. This one is made even worse by the fact that, by this level, enemies can snipe from a ridiculous ways away. You have to run way out and intercept the Nemesis well before they're anywhere near the generators. This is... difficult for a solo player.

Villains have a slight edge because they've probably seen this map before and know where the generators tend to be set up, but heroes are kind of screwed.

Showing up with three Fake Nemesiseses already wailing on the generator sounds like a big fat bug to me, though. That is definitely not supposed to happen, and I suspect all three ambushes triggered simultaneously before you even got there.
  6. If calling the past on my time phone is wrong, then I do not want to be right.
  7. Holy crap, look at the damage on Scrapper Shield Charge. That's heavier than Headsplitter, AoE, on potentially the same timer as Build Up. I desperately wish my scrapper was level 35 now. Are you sure you want to be doing that?

I can only assume the latter. Justin Augustine does not strike me as an eminently farmable TF.

Bwuh?! This was already a rather beefy AoE attack, recharge time notwithstanding. If this makes it as strong as I think it does, then you really DO get a payoff for fragile defenses.

    Round 3 P.P.

Hey, why not do Ice Melee/Ice Armor for stalkers? There's all sorts of delicious puns you can make for an ice-themed stalker.

Beyond that, finish porting the weapon sets to everyone else. Especially Broadsword for brutes.
  11. I remember a long while back, before NCSoft took over, BaB mentioned that power customization would require rewriting the graphics code almost completely. They weren't going to do that unless there was a good reason to do so.

Well, now we have power customization, there's a new box expansion coming out, and a competing game just launched with state-of-the-art graphics. I don't think this is rocket surgery.
  12. Brutes easily have better protection once you factor in enhancements and Energy Cloak.

With the numbers rounded, brutes get 26% Smashing/Lethal, 29% Fire/Cold, 32% Energy, 22% Negative Energy, and 6% Psionic/Toxic (via positional defense). They also get 12% resistance to L/S/NE, and 15% resistance to F/C/E/Toxic. Energy Drain restores 44.98 HP per target at level 50.

Compare with stalkers, who (with Hide suppressed) get 29% Smashing/Lethal/Fire/Cold, 33% Energy, 23% Negative Energy, and 3% Psionic/Toxic. They also have 12% Energy/Toxic resistance and 9% NE. Energy Drain restores 36.14 per target at level 50.

The defense numbers are pretty close, but the resistance makes brutes a lot more resilient, and they get more mileage out of Energy Drain.

Suprisingly how often those "ifs" can come home to roost. I always seem to come up with the fuzzy end of the 5% chance.
Doesn't Dark Miasma have that big smoky guy who can heal you and debuff the enemy, thus drawing attacks onto himself and making it harder for other enemies to keep hitting you? Or that nice cone-shaped mez you can throw out first? Even ignoring that defenders are the hardest AT to solo, most of the primaries have some way to cope with mezzes if you're clever about it.

I completely can't understand people complaining about about mezzers when you're in a team. Get the tankers to draw aggro onto themselves, have the blasters kill the minions with AoE, get the scrappers to do both, let the controllers mez everything, and you and your defender friends debuff the enemies into the floor. Solo is one thing, but if your team can't handle a few guys with stun guns, there's something seriously wrong going on.
  14. Martial Arts/Crane Kick's animation lasts a little too long on my (male body) scrapper. After my character puts his leg back down from the kick, I'm unrooted and can move around again, but there's close to a full second where he stays in the neutral stance before he'll start running again.

    You, however, I don't know.
Actually, he got forum banned. Threw a massive fit because the new moderators weren't Cuppajo, and were actually moderating things, if I'm recalling right. Hasn't cooled his feud with Zombie Man any either, so I wonder how long his return will last.

I'm noticing a distinct lack of theme options for Energy Aura - Energy Cloak. I had a feeling EA was going to get overlooked again.

I had just enough time to blurt out (IRL) to John, "WHAT THE-" as I get blown out of the sky, and his character turns around to see this horde of Longbow come swarming out the door of the pizza place.

It didn't help I was laughing so hard I couldn't remember how to use a wake.

It was like every Longbow ambush decided to hit us at once.

I MIGHT still have that demofile somewhere...

I've determined that this is working as intended. On mayhem missions, it's fairly well known that if you fly or jump too high the game spawns several oversize ambushes of Longbow Eagles in the air over the bank, who then fly down and murder the crap out of you. You are not intended to survive this, so you darn well better WALK to the bank, mister.

For whatever reason, there's not enough space to spawn a Longbow Eagle Death Squad on the Atlas Park or Skyway City mayhem maps. Instead, the game just has a billion Longbow come pouring out of a nearby building. Try it yourself: After clearing the Atlas mayhem, step outside the bank, look to your right, and fly straight up with your new jetpack. Without fail, you'll see guys come boiling out of the building about two doors down.

If outdoor ambushes count, I got a jumbo ambush doing Serge's "Defeat 30 Tsoo" mission in Steel Canyon last night. Solo, Level +0, Team Size 2. I got rolled by one Ancestor Spirit, two Sorcerers, and 7 or 8 minions. Suffice to say, this is much larger than any spawn that appears in a normal mission on team size 2.

Oh! It's a different model entirely. I thought Lava was just a texture applied to the original stone gloves. It was like that for the longest time in beta, I thought that's how it was supposed to look.

I tried to summon more, but it did nothing, like it would normally do if there are no pets to replace. They did follow me around, but it just seemed like I was looking at bots on someone else's team. They didn't have any name under them (like another MM's would). I did "/release_pets" and they all died, and one of each showed up in my pet list with the dead skull icon. After that I could summon normally. This did only happen once, so I'll try again later and see.

This happened a lot in beta, but thankfully there's a workaround. You can regain ownership of your pets by using some sort of buff or healing on them. Hitting them with Soothe ought to reclaim control. Controller pets, like Fire Imps, also would occasionally have this problem and the same solution worked.

Offense-only sets are kinda screwed, but maybe passing them an inspiration will work.
  22. Stone Melee: The Lava and Crystal "gloves" are scaled too small on female models. The Original and Color Tintable "gloves" are normal size, though. I know you fixed this bug at least once during beta, but it's back again.

Attempting to save or load a color scheme on my Robots/Poison mastermind bugs the menu so that no Poison powers can be customized anymore; it immediately reverts back to Original when trying to select Color Tintable, and remains bugged on all my costumes until I reload the client. The game becomes unstable at this point and crashes after a couple minutes. I also cannot reproduce this on Test with the same character.

When I go to the Test server to save some of the custom power schemes I made there, the powerCust files are generally not being accepted by the live game. They don't show up on the menu, like the files aren't there at all. These are just plain text files, so I don't know what the problem could be.

    That's new.

This is going to be a massive time waster for me, as many characters are having to take a trip to the tailor. It gets way worse when you consider you can do different colors on each costume.

  25. Hey hey, I was there too. Goggles and Oregon Trail T-shirt, over by the wall. I also briefly met Naienko over at the blood drive. Small world!

I never got a chance to raise this point, but one can't help but notice just how many superhero costumers were running around Dragon*con. I've got a photo of five Supermen all standing around shooting the breeze. And yet, none of these guys were at the panel, and I'd wager they didn't show up for DC Online or Champions either. There's some market you guys could be tapping here if you showed up and sold yourselves hard.

Also, seriously, Guild Wars stuff? You could at least send swag for the right game.
