I see Warp Factor on a very regular basis, as they has active characters in my SG - I'll tell em y'all said Hi

With the recent release of two snazzy new Dominator sets, it's time to Necro this up for easy viewing

Quote:Freem of DOOOOM!!I'm not sure it does. Based on the revenue trends from about two years ago, we should have about negative 22,000 players by now. Its possible that we're all dead and this is the game dead people play until their souls are ready to move on. Kind of like Lost but with more Freem.

I levelled a Mind/Dark Dom to 50 over DXP weekend - having loads of fun with it, and highly recommend it for those like me who don't like pet powers, (well, unless you consider confused mobs attacking each other while you rain down destruction on them all as 'pets', Muhahahaha...) but enjoy locking down your enemies and mercilessly draining the life from their quivering bodies.
I'm still sanding the edges off of her build, but once I'm finished, I'll try and remember to post it (though since I'm going for Perma-Hasten with liberal use of purples, don't expect it to be cheap, hehe) -
Quote:...More palatable than the $5 it costs now (to receive the bonus token for your first purchase of Paragon Points)?Oh and if the OP isn't in a rush, it might be a good idea to wait for the next sale on VIP Starter Kits.
$2 bucks is a hell of a lot more palatable price if the only concern is being able to invite alts to SG's on the main account.
Better, I agree...but I doubt worth waiting however many months it takes them to put kits on sale again - Your mileage of course may very -
I don't have a lot of specific build advice here, but I do have a suggestion regarding your choice of Alpha - I would strongly recommend looking at Agility. You're going to need a lot of Recharge for KM, especially if not taking Hasten, and the Defense part of it works very well with a defensive powerset like EA - at the very least those 2 boosts should relieve some pressure and allow more leeway in your slotting choices - you even get a bit of boost to Energy Drain from the End Mod...what's not to love?
Good Luck! -
For my Widow, I decided to choose her Incarnate powers in more of a thematic way, rather than "by the numbers" - as I went with Soul for her APP, I decided to also choose Incarnate powers with either a similar negative energy theme, or something that matches her base claw skills as much as I could - so here's what I did:
Alpha - Agility
Judgement - Void
Interface - Spectral
Lore - Arachnos
Destiny - Rebirth
with the exception of Rebirth (chosen because she simply doesn't have a good way to recover from lucky hits otherwise) I picked all of these to fit either her image as a very fast and hard-hitting melee fighter (Alpha), her Arachnos history (Lore), or as an extension of her APP training a la Ghost Widow (Judgement and Interface)
of course, your mileage may vary, and it should be noted that I build characters, not min/max machines -
Quote:Wait and see, Chad - every prior DXP I've gone through, I've seen a permanent bit of patrol xp up there, just following me along...even on brand new characters that have never logged outWhaaaat?
This is incorrect. Patrol XP is 1.5x, not 2x.
There is no visual marker for Double XP Weekend.
EDIT - this is absolutely, completely, and utterly wrong - move along -
I know...I stole it fair and square...I *am* a Villain, after all...
In all seriousness, I wholeheartedly support the Wiki - I've even edited it on occasion! (even though I have no bloody idea what I'm doing) -
it's 5% per booster (bearing in mind that's 5% of the original enhancement value, not a raw 5%)
For the Lvl 50 Damage IO:
+0 = 42.4% + .00(42.4%) = 42.4%
+1 = 42.4% + .05(42.4%) = 44.5%
+2 = 42.4% + .10(42.4%) = 46.6%
+3 = 42.4% + .15(42.4%) = 48.7%
+4 = 42.4% + .20(42.4%) = 50.8%
+5 = 42.4% + .25(42.4%) = 53.0%

Quote:The XP boosters purchaseable from the Paragon Market are still usable over the weekend - bear in mind that they will add on to your total xp, rather than being doubled themselves - refer to the following formula:This is how I understood it. Simply put, since you're making 2x XP and debt gets burnt first, then you're burning debt 2x faster. Since they've seriously reduced debt intake numbers anyway (since many of us started playing), then it's almost like you never got debt in the first place.
So basically everybody's saying don't bother using either power until after 2x XP's over and you've already used up that offline Patrol XP.
100% normal XP
+ 100% Double XP Bonus
+ 25% XP Booster
===================
= 225% of normal XP with a booster during the weekend -
Quote:that's available >Here<I'm pretty foggy on the whole developer timescale thing, but I believe they are "Imminent".

If your base contains none of the things on the list I linked to above, your rent will be zero, and will stay open forever

Quote:Interesting bit of trivia here - when you're in the hospital during an Incarnate Trial, you are off the Incarnate Drop/XP tables. This means that you will not earn Incarnate XP, will not have Threads or Catalysts drop, and can in fact have a Shard drop while you're in there.Basically, once you unlock the alpha slot, Shards can drop from mostly any content at all levels (you don't just need to farm at 50 or run the WTF).
Content that drops threads can drop shards (at least I feel like I've gotten Shards in some of the early iTrials). However, the new DA zone does not drop shards, and only drops threads. -
Quote:Second Obligatory Wiki LinkOr avoid the rent problem entirely by not using the items that incur rent in the base.

-
actually Double XP itself will cancel out any debt incurred - because Double XP acts like a permanent half-bar of patrol XP for the duration of the weekend, debt will simply be absorbed into that bar and forgotten

Quote:Y'know, perhaps there's a more succinct and potentially less confusing and/or hair-splitting way to put this...I'm gonna give it a shotWrong.
THERE ARE NO IOS FOR SALE ON THE PARAGON MARKET. AT ALL. ANYWHERE.
This is an IO:
This is not an IO:
Archetype Enhancements are ALL attuned. Only the Superior version are account-bound. And they have the same icon as Store Bought Enhancements, because, like SBEs, THEY AREN'T IOs.
You are right, they should be more clear. However, there have been redname posts from the first day these went live confirming that these ARE NOT IOs, and DO NOT need an IO License.
The term IO refers to Invention Origin Enhancements.
I point this out for a very specific reason. The term "Invention" in COX refers specifically to the act of using a recipe and salvage at a worktable to craft an enhancement.
Since you don't "Invent" the Store Bought Enhancements, by definition they are not IO's.
See the difference now? -
Quote:There's also the possibility in those instances of your friendly neighborhood crowd controllers just not *using* their holds at the proper time - the boss kill simply makes her *vulnerable* to holds after all...it doesn't actually holdI've seen the 'GMs' die near and she wasnt held. In those circumstances I usually just guess the game didn't register it or it wasn't quite close enough. I've just never concerned myself over it, since I've never failed over it, since if it doesn't work with one, you should always be pulling multiple GMs to her location in case one isn't killed properly. (which I am sure you know)

Quote:S.C.O.R.P.I.O. is alive and well, and can be found >Here<A few years back i was in SCORPIO, a SHIELD-like supergroup.
They were split into 5 divisions: Psi Division, Meta Division and so on, one of which was the highly trianed non-powered agents like you're describing. I don't know if they're still active, or if you'd be happy with a more mixed group than that, but they were pretty cool to work with. -
Just noticed this thread, and it occurs to me I could similar assistance with my redside SG on Virtue. SO, if anyone ends up helping Hyper, I'd love to talk about being next

It is worth noting that the defense soft cap for Incarnate content is 59%, not the 45% we are used to for the rest of the game...

Quote:I know this is slightly off-topic, but I simply can't resist...
I don't think there exists two points anywhere in the City of Heroes universe that is separated by nine minutes of travel. I think I can sprint from the Atlas Globe to portal court with a level two in less time than that.
I'd love for someone to time the trip from the Thorn Tree on Thorn Isle in Nerva Archipelago, to Faathim the Kind in The Chantry - to make it fair, let's assume it's on a Rogue, so using Ouro to hop blueside as the first step isn't an option
I'll do it myself later, of course (can't right now, at work) - but thought I'd throw it out there as a sort of open challenge
