[QUOTE=JeetKuneDo;2489588]I popped in to check out some info on Fire/Fire and there are two threads!
Grin. I must be getting closer to my thread then.
While searching for mine, I saw this thread title and popped in to take a look.
I too have Temp Protection and I leveled with with it...but, I guess I could get rid of it.....hmmm.
Lisa-Pondering as she once again goes searching. -
Quote:OHHHh...I am so so sorry about that. I have been working my tail off in real life and don't know if I am coming or going...I forgot all about that other thread. Wasn't really expecting an answer there, I was just expressing disappointment that I could not get what I wanted to....grin...I sound like a selfish little kidPost your build. It's honestly difficult to figure out what you did and what you're trying to do. I posted a build for you on your other thread (as did a couple of others), but that may not mesh with what you're trying to accomplish.
Tough is pretty marginal with 1 slot unless you're picking it only to mule the steadfast def/res and never even turning it on. The IO works whether or not tough is toggled on. I've seen some builds do this, but I dislike the practice. I especially dislike it for resistance sets such as fire armor, which benefits from the extra resistance.
CJ + the Steadfast + "some defense bonuses" may or may not be enough. I notice an appreciable difference around 17-20%. Below that threshhold, I don't think it's worth it. CJ and Steadfast at best (assuming you slotted CJ with lots of Defense) is 5.5% defense. Assuming you got two 3.75% defense bonuses, you'd be 11%ish...which isn't that hot.
Darn. Once again I am so sorry.
Builds are there you say????
I'm off
And I am not even sure why I am tinkering with my Fire/Fire. The build I had was fun enough, and survivable enough, that I soloed my way to 50 . .even the rough patches were fun and I still play her a lot.
Well, I am off to search for that post..builds you say????
Lisa-half deead and ready for Christmas to get here. -
Hello all.
I am off to work but before I go I badly need some advice. I did a respec on my Fire/Fire and got her out of Dark and into Blaze.
I lost some things, and gained some things....but what I lost has me dithering.
I have Combat Jumping, the Steadfast IO, and some defense bonuses so I did not take Weave figuring I can swallow purples to make up the rest.
During the respec I realized that I did not have any slots to give to Tough.
Is this one slot enough?
If not, talk to me about Orange Inspirations...it says they are Damage Resistance. Will taking those as well as Purples be a solution???
Should I use another respec, get rid of the fighting pool, and
add two powers that are not hungry for slots, like Swift and Hover????
I solo this toon, and do not take on more than I can chew so, well, I need to go to work.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.....

There is one thing that will see me boiling out of an AE mission with the fire of Hell in my eyes....and that is fighting a too tough boss, finally defeating it after a couple trips to the hospital, only to see it rise up again.
And, I do have a thing against Thug Masterminds. I played an AE mission where the Mastermind was a female. She wore a pink cowboy hat and everytime I heard her whistle I had one heck of a fight on my hands. Because of that one arc, I now absolutely despise Thug Masterminds. When I am in a mission and I hear that nerve shattering whistle...I leave.
As therapy, I went to Protector and made a Thug/Poison Mastermind named Bloody Mary. Sigh. When my own toon blows that whistle I cringe. . .

Just a thread expressing my frustration.
I wanted to respec my level 50 Fire/Fire scrap into Weave and The Blaze Mastery but I can't get all the powers I want, and I can't get all the slots I want....and to come kissing cousin close to the build I want I have to forgo a travel power.
Oh well..Since it works, lacks a lot of powers but it does work, I guess I will keep what I have and do a second build.
Ponder....hmmmm...a question. For a Fire/Fire which Mastery would give me the most bang for my buck???
Dark, which I have now, or Blaze????
Fireball is awesome...but it means taking two power choices, instead of the two which I have in my Dark build.
Anyways, on to work with me.
Thanks all.

College Station, Texas...no snow here which is good because when it does snow and ice here, 97% of our population ends up skidding into the ditches.

Lisa reads title of forum...Market & Inventions. I guess this is the right place to ask this question since it is about Inventions.
I have been wrasslin' with my Fire/Invul's addiction to endurance. She guzzles down endurance like my kitten attacks the leftover chicken I give him.
With the combo of frankenslotting and reaching level 21, at level 24 I thankfully have little problems now.
However, my secondary has some level 25 Aegis slotted that I do not want to get rid of. They were expensive and are very useful.
I also would like to keep them at this level because I flew through the levels kitten quick doing Radio Missions, Midnighters Club, and the Faultline arcs, and I know I am going to have to Ouro down to do Badge missions which I missed..Plague Stopper I am looking at you.
And with Going Rogue on the horizon there might be more reasons to use Ouro to go back in time.
So, this being said, How many levels can one get, and be effective, using level 25/26 Invention sets?
I know that they level with you, so you can go all the way to 50, but do you end up at 50 with very weak powers doing so?
If so, at what level should I refresh my level 25/26 Aegis'?
Thanks so much.
Lisa-Feels like a human question mark -
Thanks for such wonderful answers. I am so sorry about the mix up with Health. I tried to be clear that I was talking about the power Health. I guess I should have said somewhere in the post that the toon I was shopping for was a Fire/Invul...no healing aura there.
Well, as it is my only source of a Heal, any boosting of Dull Pain will be welcome with open arms.
I am going to save this info you all have shared.
Thanks so very much for helping me understand
Lisa. -
I am 99 percent Blueside, but I have dipped my toes redside.
Out of all the Brutes I have tried solo, two have stood out for being high in the fun factor.
SS/Willpower and Mace/Willpower.
I am not awake enough to say why they are so much fun for me...I do know that the SS builds fury quickly and that is good
Good luck.
Lisa-who busily guzzling coffee..Must wake up now -
Hello all.
I am in WW looking at Healing sets. If a set bonus says it improves all your healing powers by 5% does this mean it improves the healing of the powers Health and Dull Pain???
If so, I'm going to place a bid
Thanks in advance.

Quote:Well, it is Monday the 14th and so far,10:35 Central, there is no Winter Event to be seen. Christmas Cookies, my Fire/Invul is level 24 now and has her nose plastered to the window in Pocket D looking woefully out at all the nothingness which should be filled with snow, and laughter, and mugs of steamy hot coffee.Last two Winter Events started the Monday before Christmas Week and ended the Sunday after New Years. That would make this year's event likely to be:
Monday, Dec 14 - Sunday, Jan 3.
Although, they once extended the Winter Event because college students are usually on break until the second Sunday of January, so, they may go til Jan 10.
She has her earmuffs on, and her scarf, and she is ready -
I have two level 50 toons.
My first is a Dark/Regen Scrapper named Battlesneeze Jessie who lives on Victory server. I do not recall how I got her name, I think I got a notebook a pen, a Mountain Dew, and started brainstorming, so no story there
My second 50 is a Fire/Fire Scrapper also on Victory. She is named ChiliCheeseDog Annie. When Fire was given to scrappers, I was very excited. I flew into the character creator, threw together an outfit, and was suddenly stumped as to what to name her.
So I named her the first thing that popped into my head, and off I went.
My hubby wanted me to reroll and name her something else, but, the more I played her, the more it grew on me, and I started getting Tells from people who liked the name. -
Thanks everyone for the all the hope
Between working crazy hours, and sleeping, and RL stuff, I managed to het her to level 21. I am now thinking she just might become a favorite toon
A fully slotted Stamina is a beautiful thing
Again, thanks
Lisa. -
Oh mee, why do I ask questions on the forum when I have to scoot my boots to work within minutes.....
Anyways, I have a new scrapper which has me tearing my hair out by the roots, but despite this, I not only have been playing only her, but I have started Frankenslotting her and even have some recovery bonuses. She is level 19 and I normally do not start doing this until level 25.
She is a Fire/Invul who laps up Endurance like it was water.
I have everything slotted with endurance reducers, and I still have end problems, and I guess I will until I get lots more slots.
My question is I have heard such bad things about Invul, is she going to be ok in the higher levels? By ok, I mean will she be able to defeat most critters. PVE no PVP. And she is a soloer.
I made an invul scrap because I don't have one. Because I heard bad things about it, I paired it with Fire which is a primary which has always done me right.
And I am running out of time. If anyone has any tips for me such as what enemies I should be gunning for, and which enemies I should avoid, please share.
Thanks so much.
Lisa-If you see a Fire/Invul named Christmas Cookies running about on Infinity..that is me -
I read this thread sipping coffe and nodding in wry agreement.
I can't contribute anything which has not been already discussed, but my pet "Enemy I hate to fight without a breakfree" has got to be the Madness Madges. So glad they do not last ingame for long.
Lisa-who has learned the power of Breakfrees, Yellow, and Purple inspirations the hard way -

Coffee....the sky is actually spitting out some small snowflakes which does not happen much here in College Station, Texas, so a cup of coffee sounds wonderful right now.
I have been brewing an HEB Brand of coffee called Breakfast Blend lately. With a small dollop of Coffe-Mate's Cinnamon Vanilla Creme it is very good stuff.
And I am going to go brew a pot as soon as I poke submit

Quote:Thanks so much. I may be going through a bad streak...it does happenWell, this is only one data point, but I rolled about 10 bronze in the 10-14 range yesterday, and got one Kismet unique.
Recipes can drop from any mob, though not any recipe can drop from mobs. No difference in mob recipe drops in missions vs. streets that I'm aware of, but you can get a recipe drop on mission completion, so that makes a difference.
If you're level 50, the best settings for recipe drops would be +0x8 for lots of easy enemies with a good chance of dropping the level 50 recipes, which often go for much more than their level 49 counterparts. If you specifically want purple recipes, and don't care about anything else, then go -1x8, because purples will still drop at that setting.
Big wide grin....what about farming at level 10?
-1 X 8 ?
Hellions..get ready to let go of your Phat Loot because here I come....
Werner, thank you so much. I am in a much, much, better frame of mind now
Lisa. -
Hello all.
I am asking this question, if the Bronze Rolls have been nerfed, because lately I have not found anything real good in my Bronze Rolls.
Used to be I would get Kismet plus accuracy, The Steadfast Protection defense to all goodie, and once in a blue moon the Regenerative Tissue plus Regen proc.
Now, I do not even get the knockback protections which used to drop like snowflakes.
I guess I have to put on my overalls and start farming.
In real game, how do these drop? Are they from mission completes only, or do they drop from fighting a random mob on the street, or in the local gulch, or wherever you find one to punch?
Do recipes fall more readily in missions, or on the streets, or does it not make a difference?
What are the best rep settings for recipe drops or are there such a thing?
Sorry about all the questions....I just want to learn about this...and I am not too smart.

I am almost out the door for work and do not have enough time to read all the posts here, but this morning when I got the pop up about the Winter Event I was logging in on a Villain. I ran about Post Oakes looking for gifts and only found two.
Gave up, and went to Pocket D and did the Baby New Years event.
The villain I was unsing was only a level 9 Stalker, so I went Hero side and grabbed my level 47 Dark/SR soft capped Valkii.
For some reason I had not changed her difficulty settings and did not want to take the time to do so since I had to go to bed soon..graveyard shifts are a pita.
So, on Ultra Easy Peasy mode, I ran the mission for all the badges, and one extra to find out if you could still make candy cane runs.
I am so ready for this to go live. Having a few Winter Lords drop Candy Canes was a magnificant touch.
And having Baby New Year appear on the map was priceless. I recall last year having to search and search for the straggler.
Badge runs, Candy Cane run, plus an extra run all on Ultra Easy Peasy Mode got me 20 candy Canes
Valkii got her badges and her Halo!
She is stylin' in all her winter finery ala the Santa Boots and Gloves and her Halo.
Of to work with meeeee. -
And darn it all, I am posting this on a very old computer and somehow my post posted itself....growl.
Anyways, My hubby told them fine send it away.
And when he told me about that conversation, I am glad they did send it away. I do not want that dingbat working on my baby.
Now...I wonder if I can cajole my hubby into reading a book so I can get some playtime in...
Lisa- does not like this eight year old Dell. -
I am going to have to go against the grain here and say that the Best Buy here in College Station is a great place to shop. Everytime I go there they all seem upbeat and chirpy and I usually have three different people asking if I need help. . .not sure if I look totally lost or of I look like I want to rob the place blind...but I appreciate the asking
The geek squad though....on the whole they are also friendly but...well...I have to wonder....
I bought my computer from Best Buy and bought the extended warrenty. I knew my video card was ailing but it worked, and I kept finding reasons not to take it in. Last week the colors went splat and I found myself looking at a blue screen with text telling me if I have never seen this screen before to restart the computer, and if I still see it after the rebooting then I have a problem.
My husband took it to Best Buy on his way to work.
The Geek who handled the problem got the computer started, saw the same message, and told my husband everything was broken and I needed a new computer.
When told I had bought the warrenty, he looked it up, and told my hubby they would have to send it out to whereever they send very sick computers. -
Quote:OH MY GOSH...thinking about a run like that in the game made me howl so loud I woke up my sleeping cat, and she tore across my keyboard and muted my sound and made my toolbar disappear (Shakes fist at new fangled keyboard) but the laughter, the laughter was worth it.
Lisa-Thinks about her scrapper running about madly with arms flailing about...oh me.... -
Quote:Oh sweetie Here is a virtual hand to hold, and a warm Texas hug.about when DD went into the hospital. DD is only 35, he's a very active guy who went to the gym almost daily. This is a really tough thing to swallow.
We would appreciate any positive thoughts or miracles you could throw our way.
Only 35 and goes to the gym...life is not fair, and does not make sense sometime . . .Yes, I am praying for him.

Quote:but what kind of badge is it a one day only badge or is it prement as in make a new toon a few months from now and u still get it?
Yippi!!!! I have my badge!!!!
I pay once a year to (1) get the paying over with in one swoop, and (2) save a buck or two, but, I still held my breath until I saw it in my badge inventory.
And, Forsaken_Empire, I can answer your question....after I saw the badge, I went to Villains and made my first Stalker. It did not show up with my other badges, the ones I get while logging in to Breakout/Outbreak, but after I logged out, and logged back in, it did indeed show up.
Lisa-Rubs hands together in anticipation of the good things ahead of us.
